Chapter 435: Chapter 370: The Truth of Human Civilization’s Annihilation After Cooperation?

A thoughtful look appeared in Mr. Nuan’s eyes. If it really was the most likely possibility the think tank had deduced—

Then was it an Otherworld? Or a future glimpsed from a higher dimension? Or perhaps… a fusion of memories with a version of himself from a parallel world? Or was it something else entirely?

That final conclusion was simply too frightening—

And it was this conclusion that made him finally decide to come in person. This was a show of their sincerity!

Their sincerity in the face of this event—one that could very well be a turning point in the future Destiny of humanity on Earth!

Of course, at the same time, the arrival of a retired old man… certainly wouldn’t put too much pressure on the person before him!

Although, the moment Mr. Nuan saw Chu Bamboo, he knew they had worried for nothing. Even though the person before him was still a young man, what he had experienced surely far surpassed his apparent age!

“So, is it that you can’t say, or that you don’t want to say?” Mr. Nuan said softly, rubbing his temples. “Of course… if you want to treat this purely as a transaction, that’s fine too. You can name your price… We can keep this strictly business. I believe we can offer you compensation that you’ll find satisfactory.”

“…You’re overthinking it,” Chu Bamboo said, shaking his head, his tone the same as ever. “Things like money… I don’t really care much about them.”

Mr. Nuan nodded slightly. He actually believed him. After all, the man before him wasn’t poor to begin with… And if he wanted to make money, with what he had already revealed and the ‘truth’ deduced by the think tank, he could probably become the richest person in the world with ease!

“Mm,” Chu Bamboo murmured, pursing his lips. He actually wanted to explain, but he was worried that speaking up might trigger the world’s descent into apocalypse…

‘Hm? Wait!’

Chu Bamboo’s brow suddenly furrowed. He was pondering a very serious question.

‘Why did it lead to the apocalyptic timeline?’

‘Right now, there are two verifiable facts—’

‘First, the civilization he was currently in was, for all intents and purposes, doomed to perish!’

‘But from start to finish, there never seemed to be any beings from an Extraterrestrial Civilization, or Cultivators, or any other kind of colonial army… conducting a direct massacre or mass extinction.’

‘Humanity’s extinction was caused more by pollution—pollution on a genetic level and a spiritual level! They were caught in a Vortex of self-destruction. The Ten Thousand Races also replaced humanity in the ecological niche… and perhaps there were other factors as well!’

‘But this kind of extinction was like sinking into a swamp… no matter how hard you struggled, you only sank faster. It was an extinction where you couldn’t even see the enemy…’

If he were actually facing some kind of enemy, Chu Bamboo wouldn’t feel this much pressure. It would just be a matter of constantly bringing over technology, continuously growing stronger, and then fighting… But this situation, where he understood nothing from beginning to end, was what left him feeling suffocated.

‘And that led to the second point—’

‘The post-human civilization was, in essence, most likely created by an artificial intelligence. It must have used frozen sperm, eggs, or Genetic Maps passed down from the previous civilization to restart humanity after countless years—the Daqian Imperial Family being his descendants was the best proof of this.’

However, there was one part of this that was inexplicable.

‘…Why didn’t the post-human civilization use Chinese? Why wasn’t it directly uplifted by Nuwa…?’

‘Logically speaking, a civilization custom-made by Nuwa, given the right education… couldn’t possibly start as a feudal society!’

Chu Bamboo leaned toward a few possibilities.

‘One was that Nuwa, after creating humans at some point… fell back into a deep sleep. By the time she awoke again, humanity had already developed a certain level of civilization. It would have been difficult to intervene at that point!’

‘Another possibility was that, at a certain stage, even written and spoken language had been polluted… or at least had the potential to be polluted!’

‘The risk of using the previous civilization’s language was too high, which was why a new language was developed…’

‘It was even possible that both were the answer! But the highest probability was that something happened to Nuwa, causing her to fall into slumber…’

‘In other words…’

‘There were two crucial conditions for the post-human civilization to emerge!’

‘There must be an artificial intelligence! Whether it’s Nuwa or Z!’

‘There must be a human gene bank! Then, this AI can restart the post-human civilization.’

‘As long as these two points are secured, the emergence of the post-human race is guaranteed.’

‘And…’

‘I’ve actually cooperated deeply with the country before! And no major problems occurred then either…’

Countless thoughts collided in his mind at that moment.

Chu Bamboo made a decision.

He took a long look at the old gentleman before him. “Mr. Nuan, do you think Aliens exist in this world?”

“Is this a test?” Mr. Nuan chuckled in spite of himself. After a moment of thought, he answered cautiously, “Subjectively, we have not found any… but objectively, it’s highly probable that they exist.”

Chu Bamboo frowned slightly. ‘So in all of the Divine Continent’s intelligence, there’s nothing about Aliens?’

“Do you think the various actions of Europe and America… can be taken as proof that they believe in the existence of Aliens?”

“Europe and America seem to believe so,” Mr. Nuan nodded, but then added meaningfully, “However, that secret society, based on the current situation… might not!”

“?” Chu Bamboo instantly realized that the secret society the old gentleman was referring to was the Golden Dawn. But… The corner of Chu Bamboo’s eye twitched. He had always assumed the Golden Dawn believed in Aliens, while Europe and America might not. Why did it now seem to be the complete opposite?

‘Wait, could it be that the Golden Dawn is dead set on believing… that any possible traces of extraterrestrial civilizations are actually the work of God?’

‘And since God came from Earth… they believe… it might be an ancient terrestrial civilization, not an Extraterrestrial Civilization!’

“I’m prepared to discuss the specific details with you tomorrow.” Chu Bamboo had already decided to be completely honest with the country again in this timeline, for his good brother’s sake. He would then see what happened in the future… whether things would get better or worse.

However…

“But, regardless, I am willing to enter into a deep cooperation with… who you represent.” Chu Bamboo pulled a document from the briefcase he was carrying and handed it to the old gentleman.

Mr. Nuan frowned, took it, and casually flipped through a couple of pages. His expression froze instantly, and he looked at Chu Bamboo in astonishment.

The first page was—the manufacturing method and process for room-temperature superconductors, along with several ideas for cheap, mass production.

Of course, after a quick glance, Mr. Nuan realized these were likely just concepts—

He wasn’t a researcher in this field, but he knew that something of this magnitude couldn’t possibly be recorded in such a small booklet…

He flipped the page again…

“Fully automated industrial chains…”

“…Nuclear fusion reactors?”

“?! Miniaturized nuclear fusion reactor technology!”

“A Space Plane… no, a reconnaissance-strike Space Plane capable of flying directly to the Moon, with both manned and unmanned capabilities…”

“…Virtual reality technology?”

“Quantum Computer…”

Without a doubt, the document Chu Bamboo had provided contained mostly just concepts… As for the specific technical details, those were certainly missing!

And yet…
