My Dream Connects to 3000 Years in the Future
Chapter 427: Dragon of Consciousness and Heart and Stepping into the Third Realm
Chapter 427: Chapter 362: Dragon of Consciousness and Heart and Stepping into the Third Realm
Chu Bamboo grabbed the lizard’s claw, and a trace of killing intent finally surfaced in his eyes.
He slammed a palm forward, and the already-pierced glass instantly shattered into smithereens.
Chu Bamboo coughed violently, expelling the liquid from his lungs, all while pinning the pink lizard firmly against the broken glass. He held it there, no matter how it struggled—
The glass shards were obviously still sharp. As the lizard struggled, they tore through its skin, drawing trickles of bright red blood.
“…So your blood is red, too?” Chu Bamboo’s voice was devoid of any emotion. He raised his hand and once again smashed the pink lizard viciously against the Hibernation Pod. Again and again…
The next moment, another lizard lunged at him, but it failed to knock him over. It didn’t seem to care, simply starting to tear at Chu Bamboo’s shoulder…
Soon, a third one arrived. Perhaps because the “food” in this spot was so plentiful, the other lizards didn’t bother coming over.
But Chu Bamboo didn’t fight back against the three lizards. Having used up all his stored Divine Techniques in the real world, he was at his weakest. ‘Pure Memory Divine Techniques don’t have much power… I can’t possibly beat these three!’
All he wanted right now was for this pink lizard to die!
Again and again, his flesh was torn… The pain was excruciating! Yet, Chu Bamboo showed no emotion. As Mr. Zhu, he had died far, far too many times, and been brutally murdered more than a few times.
His tolerance for pain was, in fact, far beyond what anyone could imagine.
Finally, due to his severe injuries, Chu Bamboo could no longer hold down the pink lizard. It thrashed and flung him away. As the three lizards lunged at him, Chu Bamboo remained calm, still contemplating the fundamental difference between the two timelines…
He wasn’t afraid of death, nor of this disaster. But he was afraid—or rather, worried—that he would die without knowing why!
‘How much time has passed…’
‘A few seconds? A few minutes? Or maybe even longer?!’
As he was being torn apart, the one eye Chu Bamboo could still see out of seemed to catch… a flash of black light?
“Witness! The collapse of the world!” The voice was calm, devoid of any emotion.
The next instant, crimson blood splattered everywhere. It was the lizard’s blood. It coated Chu Bamboo’s eye, turning the world he could see completely red.
Chu Bamboo waited in silence. Gravely injured and on the verge of death, he couldn’t move a muscle. He watched as an exceptionally beautiful woman walked into the line of sight of his one remaining eye. “…”
Lin Xin Bamboo seemed frozen in place. She opened her mouth as if to say something, but no words came out. She simply knelt down.
“…I! I’m sorry… this!”
Lin Xin Bamboo’s body trembled slightly. Chu Bamboo could pretty much tell she had no way to treat his injuries. ‘Seriously? You guys in this Celestial Court resistance don’t even have a single healer?’
For a moment, Chu Bamboo felt there were so many things wrong with this situation that he didn’t even know where to begin his complaints.
“…You!” Chu Bamboo forced out a single word with all his might. Lin Xin Bamboo seemed to understand. She sniffled hard a couple of times, then leaned in close, turning her ear to listen.
“…” Chu Bamboo was speechless. He decided to ignore Lin Xin Bamboo and just use… Rewrite. ‘He actually just wanted to tell her to get off him. She was heavy, okay? This is just cruel to a seriously injured person…’
In the next instant, Chu Bamboo’s body—torn to shreds, in worse shape than a discarded doll—began to reverse its state.
“?!” Lin Xin Bamboo stared, dumbfounded, as Chu Bamboo pushed her aside, got up, and stretched as if he hadn’t been injured in the slightest.
Chu Bamboo didn’t say anything to her, however. He simply scanned his surroundings.
All the lizards were dead, and they had all died in the same way: their bones were completely crushed. It was as if their bodies had suddenly been subjected to hundreds, thousands, or even more times their normal weight, unable to withstand it, and had simply collapsed.
However, the people who looked like corpses seemed to be unharmed. ‘That’s some precise control of power!’
“…Is it Gravity?” Chu Bamboo murmured, a hint of doubt in his eyes. He still couldn’t understand what had just happened. ‘It’s all too confusing!’
Everything now was so different from the previous timeline—the changes were staggering. ‘And what about these people? Are they still alive? If they are, shouldn’t they be violently coughing up liquid like I was when I first got out of the Hibernation Pod?’ He didn’t move closer to check, however. Whether they were alive or not didn’t really matter to him at the moment.
“It… I guess so!” Lin Xin Bamboo said with difficulty. She then took a couple of deep breaths, as if the reality of the situation was just now hitting her. A look of dazed nervousness and excitement washed over her face. “Yes… it is… It’s a Divine Technique related to that, isn’t it? Of course! It’s just as I’d expect from you… No wonder that guy told me to come rescue… Yes!”
She calmed herself and suddenly stood up. “Chu… Uncle!”
Having said it once, the address came more easily to Lin Xin Bamboo. She silently wiped the cold sweat from her brow, then narrowed her eyes and gazed into the distance, her voice taking on a solemn, grave tone.
“The situation is urgent. That son of a—ahem, my cousin, she’s fighting the Dragon of Consciousness and… uh, Heart right now! I need to get you somewhere safe first, and then I’ll see… if I can help her!”
“…” Chu Bamboo held up a hand to stop her. ‘Consciousness and Heart…’ Considering what he’d seen before, a theory formed in his mind. ‘Could this be an invasion by the Ten Thousand Races? What if the dragons and these lizards are actually the same species? That would explain a lot—this must be a simultaneous attack by the Ten Thousand Races on both the Virtual World and the underground base! But there’s still so much that doesn’t add up.’ He pursed his lips. “Hold on!”
“?”
“You mean!” Chu Bamboo glanced in the direction Lin Xin Bamboo was facing. He couldn’t see anything, but he felt an inexplicable, almost suffocating pressure emanating from there. He took a deep breath, speaking as if to himself, or perhaps to someone else entirely. “Did that many people really die?”
Lin Xin Bamboo: “???”
‘What is he talking about…’
Lin Xin Bamboo glanced around in disbelief. ‘What, were they just faking it? Has the old man lost his mind? Or has he finally gone senile…’
“…It’s nothing,” Chu Bamboo said, rubbing his temples.
‘It would be one thing if this were an accident, but the chances of that are too slim… But if this really is Z’s doing… that can’t be possible, can it? Dammit, what the hell happened!’
Chu Bamboo closed his eyes, feeling a genuine sense of anger and despair. He also realized that he would probably have to wait until his next life to find the answers.
In that instant, Chu Bamboo had a sudden realization. He slowly opened his eyes. It happened as a matter of course—he had achieved the Third Realm.
Amidst the despair and the city’s ruin, he had met his Celestial Mandate!
He calmly scanned his surroundings. To his senses, the entire world had become completely different.
Especially in the distance…
In the space beyond perception, he could almost see two colossal suns belonging to the Memory World. They were so scorching and terrifying… they nearly incinerated his very consciousness!
Suddenly, the Sun on the left seemed to sense something and abruptly ‘looked’ his way. Chu Bamboo felt his thoughts freeze solid.
Then, a golden light flashed in his mind. The terrifying sensation of his consciousness being boiled away vanished in an instant. Z’s protection had activated.
“…You!” Lin Xin Bamboo seemed to realize something, her face filled with shock. “Wait, you actually—how could you possibly see… No, that’s not it, how did you do that and not die? I…”
Lin Xin Bamboo was clearly shocked beyond words.
