My Divine Diary

Chapter 105

Su Hao didn’t infuse any blood qi; he relied solely on his physical strength to thrust his short knife at Yashan’s armored arm.

“Ding!”

A crisp sound rang out, and the short knife couldn’t penetrate, leaving only a faint white mark.

“So tough!” Su Hao was visibly surprised. The strength of this armor exceeded his expectations. Although he hadn’t infused any blood qi, his accumulated strength and training were considerable. Previously, with various runic states attached to the short knife, he easily pierced the armor of the other “Rampager” without any feeling of resistance, making him think that its strength was low.

However, it turned out to be quite strong.

Watching Su Hao’s surprise, Yashan grinned triumphantly.

Su Hao played with the short knife in his hand, infused it with blood qi, and thrust it once more.

“Puff!”

The armor was pierced, and the short knife went in a bit, wedged against the bone.

“Ahh!” Yashan screamed miserably, his face twisted. “Wei… Boss Wei, be gentle, be gentle! My hand is about to break!”

Su Hao pulled out the knife, and the small bottle instantly filled up. He nodded approvingly and said, “This armor’s defense is quite good!”

Yashan: “…”

Yashan suddenly opened his eyes and looked at the wound on his arm, muttering, “It seems like this wound can heal.”

Su Hao looked at him with curiosity.

Yashan didn’t say anything, as if he was trying to control something.

Soon, the wound on his arm visibly closed up. After stopping the bleeding, the armor regrew, covering the wound.

He and Su Hao locked eyes.

Yashan muttered, “Boss Wei, I really seem to be invincible.”

Su Hao didn’t say anything and jumped up, delivering a punch that sent Yashan flying.

“Bang!”

Yashan instantly regained his senses. “Indeed, invincibility is impossible!”

Half a year passed quickly, and the city of Temple Forest became increasingly chaotic.

It was unclear when it had started, but the nights in the city were no longer quiet. Occasionally, there would be loud noises and the sounds of houses collapsing. Wooden debris and stones would often crash into Su Hao’s courtyard.

Fortunately, Su Hao’s small courtyard remained untouched and undamaged.

However, it was uncertain how long this situation could last.

During this half-year period, even Yashan, a “Rampager,” had suffered serious injuries multiple times, no longer acting recklessly, and had become somewhat fearful.

One evening, Yashan found Su Hao and handed over two small bottles. He said, “Boss Wei, this is the blood of a ‘Silkman,’ and this is the blood of a level two ‘Roamer’ from the ‘Nimbleman’ sequence. I had to risk my life to obtain them.”

Su Hao, wearing a smile, took them and stored them away. He didn’t have the genes for the ‘Roamer,’ but he could collect and add them to the comparison.

Although the genes might be the same, the expressed traits might differ. After all, genes were generally selectively expressed.

Su Hao asked, “What’s the current situation in the city?”

Yashan replied, “The news has spread recently. It’s said that the two factions, the ‘Radiant Guild’ and the ‘Heaven’s Gate,’ two mutant organizations, have started fighting. It’s quite a spectacle.”

“Fighting?” Su Hao raised an eyebrow. .𝒎

Yashan nodded and exaggerated, “It’s said that the members of both factions have exposed each other’s identities. At first, neither side knew that the other had discovered their identities, so they were hunting each other down. Later, both sides lost a special person, allegedly the children of the leaders. After that, they tore each other apart, and it turned into a free-for-all.”

Su Hao nodded in understanding, and Yashan continued to share the information he knew. “The city is in chaos right now, not limited to just the two factions fighting. Other organizations are also taking advantage of the chaos, hunting and capturing mutants. The conflict is spreading wider, and even during the day, people are becoming cautious, fearing that someone might backstab them without honor because they don’t know if their own identities have been exposed.”

Yashan sighed, “The world has become increasingly difficult to navigate. It was better in the past.”

Su Hao smiled and replied, “When was it ever easy to navigate? When you have great strength, everything is easy; when you’re weak, it’s the same everywhere.”

Yashan thought for a moment and nodded, “You’re right! I’ll work on accumulating power and strive to promote to a level three mutant as soon as possible.”

Su Hao asked, “Do you know where to find a level three mutant of the ‘Thorned Beast’ sequence?”

Yashan scratched his head awkwardly and said, “I don’t know yet, but I’ll find out eventually.”

Su Hao advised, “Since there’s nothing urgent, don’t rush. The situation is chaotic right now. First, focus on protecting yourself.”

Yashan nodded, saying, “Understood, Boss Wei.”

Su Hao clearly sensed Yashan’s nonchalant attitude, but there was nothing he could do about it. He had given the warning, and whether or not Yashan chose to heed it was up to him.

Su Hao collected some blood samples in the city before returning home.

“Almost seven years old,” Su Hao had a premonition that there would be a breakthrough in his genetic research soon.

One month later…

Night quietly descended, and on the surface, Temple Forest City remained silent. However, there were undercurrents stirring, and the atmosphere in various places gradually became restless.

Fred, the “Rampager,” knocked on the door and entered An’s study. He walked up to An and said, “Boss, the Radiant Guild and Heaven’s Gate have gathered their forces. It seems they might start a fight tonight. Other organizations are also coming out to watch and hope to take advantage.”

The room was not just occupied by An alone; there were Xia Li, Yiyi, and Arley, the “Creeper,” the “Tracker,” and the “Loner.”

An stood up, appearing tall and thin, but his legs were strangely robust. His footsteps were peculiar, as if he had to resist the urge to spring forward with every step.

An took out a letter from his pocket and placed it on the table. Then, he lit a candle, tied an oily rope around the envelope, and poured some oil on it.

After completing these tasks, he walked towards the door and said, “Let’s go. Tonight, the ‘Six Stars Squad’ will return with a full load. Afterward, I’ll take you all out of this small place.”

Everyone followed him.

On the other side, Flywheel, the leader of Heaven’s Gate, listened to his subordinates’ reports and smiled. He casually put on a mask, and in an instant, his tall figure disappeared from its original position. The next moment, he appeared at the door, and no one saw how Flywheel had vanished and reappeared at the entrance.

Flywheel revealed his sharp fangs, his voice hoarse. “Someone wants me to have a fight with that guy Bone Demon, huh? Are they craving for my flesh and blood? Hahaha! After all the effort they’ve put in, I’ll give them a show! Hahaha! I’m really curious about who it is.”

In a flash, he disappeared from the entrance and reappeared on a rooftop. His subordinates followed suit, running toward their designated locations.

Flywheel stopped suddenly, waved his hand, and his seven subordinates scattered in all directions, employing various techniques to blend into the darkness.

He had already spotted Bone Demon.
