My Disciples Grind, I Get 100x Their Progress
Chapter 159: Dragon Habitat 2
’What is his identity and what is his purpose in coming to our world?’
After being expelled from the frozen time, Garph was now back here, sunk in thought.
Garph still couldn’t grasp the human’s purpose, the reason he had come here or what he wanted to do.
Worse, the Primordial Dragon had only said what was necessary.
’Help how? What should I do to help him, Milady?’
It was hard to think what to do when Garph didn’t even know the human’s situation or what his purpose was.
At the same time, it was also hard to think how he should treat that Human. As a result, Garph just tried to treat him with as much respect as he could and invited him to go to the Dragons’ dwelling.
"Then... Shall we go now?"
While offering that to the human, Garph heard the Young Dragon’s blathering once again.
"Elder! You! What on earth are you doing?! Are you betraying our Race!? You should understand very well how valuable that Voidborn is and the Language Fruit itself, right?!"
The Language Fruit, as mentioned, was a precious fruit. That fruit grew on special trees ruled over by the Elves, while in other worlds, there were only a few of those fruits.
Even to obtain a single fruit, a person might have to wait hundreds to thousands of years for the fruit itself to ripen.
That was why Garph shouldn’t have given the fruit away carelessly.
Then, as for the little Fox, its value was far greater still.
So great that it made Garph feel a seed of doubt growing within him.
Was there a way to bring the Fox back?
Was there a way for that human to be willing to hand it over?
But what if the human’s purpose was the Voidborn itself?
’Since Milady has commanded me, there’s nothing I can do...’
Garph could only restrain his curiosity about the human, deciding to observe and study him in silence.
What his purpose was and why the Primordial Dragon herself had taken him as her Master.
With a small sigh, Garph glanced at the Young Dragon with a sharp gaze.
"You should just go, this human is not someone you can touch."
"H-huh!?"
The Young Dragon looked shocked. Not only that Young Dragon, but every other Dragon who had followed Garph earlier looked just as shocked.
"What do you mean by that!? He’s just an ordinary human! You can kill him easily!"
"...."
"Hah! I understand now, you damn old man!"
The Young Dragon took his humanoid form, showing his young appearance full of anger, looking at Garph with an amused sneer.
"Of course, you keep rambling about not wanting to invade other worlds and the like. But it seems you regret your own words. You lied about the human, your real aim is the Fox. You want to start an invasion yourself, in your own way, rebelling against us."
Garph frowned slightly upon hearing that, his fingers tensing a little as he clicked his tongue.
That accusation wasn’t merely an insult to him, but also to the principle he had upheld all this time.
"Did you just compare me to you lot, you bastards who have lost your pride as Dragons?"
But the Young Dragon didn’t even care about what Garph said, only laughing loudly in rage.
"Haha! Fine, you selfish old man. I don’t know what you’re planning, but don’t think for a second that I and the others will just stay quiet."
After saying that, the Young Dragon shot off as though afraid Garph might do something to him.
And that was probably the right decision, as Garph himself was staring at the Young Dragon with a gaze full of the desire to kill.
Only, Garph held back when he remembered that the Young Dragon had once been part of his Clan.
He might regret it someday, but...
"Truly, ever since Lady Clyne passed away, bad things have kept happening day after day."
He let out a very long sigh, then while looking at his comrades, who were full of questions, Garph simply stayed silent and commanded.
"Let’s go back, I’ll explain everything later."
Then, he glanced toward Julian a little awkwardly.
"What do you say, Lord Julian? Would you be willing to come with us?"
***
The place where the Dragons lived was on an island filled only with tall mountains full of forests and extremely thick smoke.
The reason Monk had been able to notice their presence earlier was for just one reason.
’Oh wow... Insane, this really is amazing. Is this what it feels like to ride a Dragon?’
Julian couldn’t help feeling pure awe.
After agreeing to Garph’s offer, Julian and the others immediately got the chance to ride the Dragon.
Flying above the sky with extremely thick clouds, and seeing all the beautiful landscape below filled with floating islands.
From that height, the islands looked so small, while the layers of cloud enveloping them made the scenery feel even more unreal.
As for what made Monk notice the Dragons’ habitat, it lay in the sky above those mountains.
Along with the Dragon Julian rode, there were so many other Dragons, perhaps dozens, even hundreds, as the Dragons could be seen flying across the sky.
Their direction and destination were unclear, they just flew here and there, as though enjoying it.
Occasionally, the shadows of their bodies passed between the clouds, showing different sizes.
In the sky, the atmosphere felt a little suffocating, but considering that Julian was no longer just an ordinary human, he could adapt and had no trouble at all.
After all, he could use Mana to keep his organs running so he didn’t need to breathe.
If there was one problem, it was the extremely strong gusts of wind. The Dragon really flew at a terrifying speed, so Julian might have been swept off if he didn’t hold on properly.
"Waaaaahhh!!!"
Below, there was Monk crying in fear, hugging Julian’s ankle, while in Julian’s right hand, the little Fox also looked just as scared, clinging on very tightly.
Every time the Dragon slightly changed its flight direction, Monk’s grip on Julian’s leg grew stronger.
Luckily, Felicya herself was perfectly fine, not even minding. Well, what else had Julian expected?
’...I suppose as long as I don’t let go of her carry, she’ll be fine.’
For some reason, that was the only thing Felicya would ever be bothered by.
While enjoying the strong yet refreshing wind, Julian noticed that the other Dragons also seemed to be starting to pay attention to him.
They all looked so curious that several times they changed their flight paths just to get a closer look at Julian.
’Well, it would be strange if they weren’t curious.’
Julian smiled awkwardly in his mind, feeling the flight speed of the Dragon he rode slowly slowing down.
It seemed they would arrive soon.
And sure enough, the Dragon slowly descended, landing at a moderate speed.
That made Monk, who was already scared, even more scared, hugging Julian’s leg hard as if she wanted to crush it.
The sound of her sobbing, her tears and snot flew upward into the sky because of the rapid descent.
"Kyaaaaah!!! We’re going to die! We’re going to die!"
And it didn’t take long before the Dragon landed so gently that it was surprising.
They had arrived at the Dragons’ habitat.
