Chapter 259: Chapter 188: The Mistress and Xiao Si (Part 2)

Pay them to pack up and leave? That was a new one. It was the first time this plaza had ever offered compensation, from its time as Jiangzhou Wansheng until now!

"Pay them. It’s a small amount of money, so don’t worry about it!"

Zhao Hui understood Chen Xiao. He was, of course, well aware of what Junxiao Group’s most important project was right now.

So even though he was in the commercial real estate division, he paid extremely close attention to anything Chen Xiao was personally involved in.

The 7:30 showing of *Xiangzi* had already become a must-watch program for the Zhao Family.

He was well aware of the bad blood between Chen Xiao and Feichi Auto, and he knew exactly what kind of attitude to adopt toward the car company.

A similar situation was unfolding at Qingyun Wansheng Square, which had not yet been renamed.

The general manager candidate had not yet been confirmed, but Liu Nan’s attitude had changed drastically in the past two days. President Fu had already returned to the regional office, and on-site, Liu Nan was having Liu Lei assist with management.

Liu Nan was aware of the conflict between Liu Lei and President Hao of Feichi Auto, and he also knew that the friction that day had actually been between two of President Xu’s friends and Feichi Auto.

At the time, he had thought it was just an isolated incident, but he finally understood after President Xu appeared.

Junxing Auto, Feichi Auto... they were mortal enemies!

How could there be any room for Feichi Auto in a Junxiao-owned plaza? Therefore, before his interview in Jiangzhou, his top priority for the past two days had been to get rid of Feichi Auto.

Unlike Zhao Hui, he didn’t have the guts to simply pay Feichi Auto to leave.

He chose Wansheng Group’s old trick for dealing with tenants: if you refuse to leave, I’ll inspect you ten times a day. A fire safety issue today, another problem tomorrow. In short, just keep forcing you to close for "rectification"!

You can decide for yourself whether to pull out your store. Not pulling out will have the same effect as pulling out, except you’ll also be wasting money on rent!

In the past, Feichi Auto would have certainly filed a complaint against Liu Nan, but now, they had no recourse.

Liu Lei now spent nearly every day at the Feichi Auto showroom. He was quite adept at tormenting people, especially an enemy.

The grim-faced manager of the Feichi Auto store looked even grimmer these days. He had originally planned on becoming the manager of the Tianlong Square branch in the Jiangzhou City District if he lost his job here.

Business was better there. If he were to lose his job here, transferring over there would have been a blessing in disguise.

But then he heard that Junxiao Group had acquired Tianlong Square, too. ’Damn, no doubt about it,’ he thought. ’That store is done for as well!’

The grim-faced manager was dejected. He put on a miserable face for Liu Lei every day, stopping just short of begging for mercy.

Liu Lei paid him no mind. ’Should’ve thought of that sooner, shouldn’t you?’

Besides, Liu Lei was currently riding high. He was thriving at the plaza, and rumors were already spreading that Liu Nan would recommend him to the new boss as the VP of Business.

’My old classmate will surely give me this chance,’ he thought.

He didn’t know what was wrong with him, but ever since truly seeing Xu Wu last time, he didn’t even dare to think of her as the goddess of his dreams anymore, much less have any fantasies.

Chen Xiao hadn’t been to Xu Wu’s office in a long time. It hadn’t changed much from before, except for the addition of some potted plants.

He got up and casually walked around, eventually stopping by the floor-to-ceiling window to look down at Bailu Lake. He felt as if he were on top of the world, with all other mountains seeming small below him.

Xu Wu walked over to stand beside him.

Out of the corner of his eye, he could see that the beauty beside him was buxom and curvy. Her figure was stunning—fully ripened to perfection.

Breathing in the alluring fragrance that emanated from her, Chen Xiao took a deep breath, feeling quite intoxicated.

He started walking around to mask his inner feelings, afraid he’d embarrass himself.

He unknowingly walked to Xu Wu’s private lounge and, on some strange impulse, pushed the door open and peeked inside.

He suddenly felt how rude he was being. Xu Wu, standing beside him, let out a delicate huff. "What are you doing? Checking to see if I’m hiding someone in there?"

Chen Xiao rubbed his chin. "Not at all. I’m just tired and was subconsciously looking for a bed."

Xu Wu rolled her eyes at him. "Then go on in and get some sleep. Need me to keep you company?"

Chen Xiao choked out a sound and quickly turned his back to her.

It was unclear if Xu Wu genuinely didn’t understand, as she asked with concern, "Chen Xiao, what’s wrong? Are you hunched over because of a stomachache?"

Only after his back was completely turned to her did Chen Xiao straighten up. He pressed himself against the floor-to-ceiling window again to change the subject, pointing at the nearby Kamen Lakefront CBD Center. "The company is expanding so quickly that this place can no longer meet our office needs. What do you think of that place over there?"

Unsuspecting, Xu Wu followed his finger and looked. After a moment of contemplation, she said, "We really should consider moving to a new office space. I’ll arrange for someone to do some reconnaissance first?"

Chen Xiao shook his head. "No need. Your workload is heavy enough. I’ll take care of it."

He thought, ’You’re already handling the acquisition of five shopping centers this month. That’s more than enough! And I’m getting all the credit for it, too.’

Just then, Xu Wu gasped. Chen Xiao quickly turned back. "What is it?"

He saw Xu Wu’s lovely face flush crimson as she pointed at the window. "Chen Xiao!"

Chen Xiao glanced down and his heart sank. He was so screwed.

The faint reflection in the glass made everything crystal clear.

Chen Xiao bolted faster than a rabbit. "Xu Wu, I just remembered I have something to do. I’m leaving now!"

He left Xu Wu staring at his retreating back with a look of feigned indignation. "Hmph. He has the heart of a thief, but not the nerve."

During afternoon tea, instead of staying at the company, Chen Xiao went to a coffee shop in the heart of Bailu Lake to sit for a while and enjoy a rare moment of tranquility.

Listening to the soothing music and quietly admiring the lake view, he felt time flow along with the melody. That was why the café was called "Time."

The view from his seat by the window was excellent. He could see the nearby Yunfeng Building as well as the more distant Kamen Lakefront CBD Center—the place where Chen Xiao’s "empire" would set sail.
