Chapter 253: Chapter 186: All-in (Part 2)
’So user-friendly? It even gives out a year-end bonus? So this task is basically my KPI assessment, huh?’
’Buy, buy, buy. This is a gimme. It doesn’t even specify the size of the plazas or their annual sales. It couldn’t be any easier!’
’Acquiring commercial plazas like Tianlong or Wanhong might be difficult, but the market is full of community shopping centers on the verge of bankruptcy. If I make an offer, the owners will probably worship the ground I walk on.’
Of course, he wasn’t that unscrupulous. Otherwise, he could just call Ding Yong and have him sell some of the community commercial properties from his real estate division, and that would be that.
He sent a message to Xu Wu: "Please be sure to acquire no fewer than five shopping plazas within one month!"
It was the first time he had ever used those particular words. A meticulous person like Xu Wu understood the urgency and immediately arranged for Xu Jun to hold a special meeting. She would personally follow up and supervise the acquisition of the commercial real estate projects.
Xu Jun was starting to feel the pressure. Just last night, President Xu had called to express her dissatisfaction with the progress on the Tianlong Square acquisition. Now, first thing in the morning, she called another meeting to announce they had to finalize the acquisition of five shopping plazas within twenty days.
’This is like tightening a vice on my head.’ President Xu’s wording had been severe, allowing for no compromises. She had also subtly implied that if Xu Jun couldn’t complete the task, he would be deemed incapable of shouldering the great responsibility of expanding Junxiao Business Management Company’s future territory.
Xu Jun didn’t dare say a word, his fists clenched tightly under the table. He reminded himself that he had to go all out. If he didn’t work hard enough, his promising future could vanish at any moment. And he couldn’t forget there was the young and ambitious Zhao Hui under him—a member of the "Royal Family and Relatives," no less.
Chen Xiao had no idea Xu Wu was so swift and decisive. After sending the message to her, he drove away.
’With this system task, I don’t have to worry about how to acquire the Kamen Lakefront CBD Center anymore. It seems I was born to be a hands-off boss.’
’I was trying to be considerate, thinking Xu Wu was busy enough, so I’d take on more of the responsibility for choosing the group’s headquarters. Who knew it would just circle back to her in the end!’
’The system looks out for me, and Xiangjun looks out for me, too!’
They had lunch at home. Zhao Xiangjun wasn’t fond of eating out, so they went back to Bihu Twin Seals where she personally cooked a few of Chen Xiao’s favorite dishes.
After lunch, Chen Xiao sat on the living room sofa and pulled her into his arms. "There’s something I need to discuss with you," he said.
"Go ahead," she said. She seemed casual, but she was already listening intently.
"It’s about Junxiao Investment Group. This will be the headquarters for almost all of our family’s businesses in the future, and I want to re-establish the equity distribution."
Zhao Xiangjun replied nonchalantly, "You can just handle it however you see fit."
She never paid attention to these things. To this day, she had never even been to the Junxiao Group, nor had she ever bothered to find out how the equity was distributed. She just wasn’t interested.
Chen Xiao knew her personality well. He knew she wouldn’t care what changes he made, but he still had to explain it to her clearly as a sign of respect.
"This company will be wholly owned by us from now on. We won’t be accepting any outside investment. So, this change will fix the equity shares in place. No matter how much capital we inject in the future, I don’t plan on changing the ownership percentages again."
"Xu Wu is the one actually running this company now, so I’m planning to give her an equity incentive as well. The plan is to give her 1%. Similarly, no matter how much capital we inject, her equity percentage won’t change."
"Xu Wu?" Zhao Xiangjun murmured. It was certainly not the first time she had heard that name.
Sometimes Chen Xiao would be on the phone with Xu Wu at home, discussing work. Even Zhao Hui would occasionally mention that beautiful and poised "alpha female" CEO.
Chen Xiao tensed up for a moment, but then he heard Zhao Xiangjun say, "Is 1% too little? We’re both hands-off bosses. She’s the one doing all the work."
He gave a wry smile. "You really have no concept of money. Junxiao Investment Group currently manages 29 billion in funds. 1% is worth hundreds of millions! And her share percentage won’t change no matter how much we invest later. She’ll be financially free."
"Well, she contributes a lot. Anyway, fine, Chen Xiao. I won’t meddle in this. You just arrange it."
"Also, your share will be adjusted down to 49%, and that won’t change in the future either."
"49%? Adjusted down? What was it originally?" Zhao Xiangjun asked, curious.
"Originally, you had 99%."
"Chen Xiao, are you crazy?! Why would you give me so much equity? Just give me 1%, that’s more than I could ever spend!"
Chen Xiao sighed. ’This woman’s brain is really wired differently from everyone else’s.’
He realized she truly didn’t care about things like wealth at all. He’d spent the whole morning thinking of what to say, but it turned out he had just been worrying for nothing.
With the serious business concluded, holding such a fragrant beauty in his arms, his mind couldn’t help but start to wander.
He coaxed her, "Honey, how about we go play some golf?"
Zhao Xiangjun didn’t get it at first. "Play what golf? I don’t know how."
’You might not know how, but I do! I’m a pro at swinging the club and sinking it in the hole.’
"I’ll teach you!" He scooped her up by the waist and carried her into the bedroom.
Only then did she realize what this bad boy had on his mind. She was truly indulgent with him, but alas, she just couldn’t keep up with his stamina.
He was like an ox these days, never seeming to tire. In the end, Zhao Xiangjun cried out, "Xiao, I can’t take it anymore!"
Chen Xiao knew that when she said she couldn’t take it, she really meant she was physically exhausted, so he prepared to call a retreat.
But then, unexpectedly, she added, "Or... why don’t you go find Xu Wu?"
That one sentence made Chen Xiao shudder—partly from shock, and partly because the mental image that suddenly flashed through his mind was just too stimulating.
Thankfully, Zhao Xiangjun was so exhausted that she fell asleep right away. Otherwise, if that topic had continued...
