My Cultivation Has a Progress Bar
Chapter 630: Utterly Crushed
Chapter 630: Chapter 110: Utterly Crushed
The endless sea outside the port of Shang’an Prefecture was churning with violent waves. In the dim evening twilight, the port’s bright lighthouse flickered. Colossal waves were crashing against the tower, momentarily obscuring its Lighting Array with each impact.
Farther out, hundreds of warships bobbed atop the colossal waves, battling a fierce sea wind. On the foredeck of each vessel, a Foundation Establishment Stage Water Cultivator stabilized the water, allowing the fleet to sail steadily through the towering waves of the Great Sea.
Heavy crossbows were mounted on the port and starboard of these warships. Just a moment ago, they had unleashed a volley. Now, the sailors on board wore identical expressions of shock. The volley had been followed by a muffled, colossal BOOM, and the once-calm sea had erupted into giant waves. A powerful wind stung their cheeks amid an all-encompassing white mist.
A Lighting Spell shot into the air, illuminating the dense white mist that had blanketed the world. The magnificent, sky-blotting spectacle inspired a deep sense of dread.
The volley they had just fired consisted of one hundred special “Power Pills”!
The sea wind was strong, and in just a few moments, it blew away the white mist that had enveloped the world. The sailors snapped out of their shock, and a cacophony of orders began to echo across the decks.
Soon, the lead warships reached the area where the enemy fleet had been.
In the glow of the Lighting Spell, the dense enemy fleet was gone. In its place were hundreds of massive whirlpools. They were the source of the great waves still rocking the sea, though the vortices themselves were already starting to close.
Just then, a figure descended from the sky, hovering over the lead warship. Holding a Token, he coldly commanded the ship’s Flag Officer, “Signal with the flags: Continue forward. Repeat three times!”
“Yes!”
As the Flag Officer received the order, dozens of Entering Cultivators streaked across the dark sky from the direction of the port. They came to a halt above the fleet, gazing at an island dozens of kilometers away. That island housed the forward staging dock for the Lishui Prefecture fleet, and their mission tonight was to seize it.
As flag signals and horn blasts resounded, the fleet broke through the surging waves. Beneath the dim sky, more Lighting Arrays were launched, brilliantly illuminating this small stretch of sea.
「To the rear.」
Atop a fortress of hewn stone, the highest point in the port, Leng Kezhen quietly watched the events unfolding at sea. Suppressing the tremor in his heart, he said, “With these ‘Power Pills,’ as long as the enemy doesn’t send out cultivators of the Second Realm or higher, our fleet can steamroll all the way to the Seventh Prince’s lair!”
A peculiar light glinted in Qingjiang’s eyes. In a soft voice, she said, “Changqing Zhenren really plays his cards close to his chest. I just don’t understand why he chose this moment to suddenly counter-attack.”
Leng Kezhen turned his head, gazing toward Mozhou Road as a flicker of reminiscence crossed his eyes. “We aren’t the only ones counter-attacking today,” he said. “It seems things are even more heated over on Mozhou Road.”
He finished, then turned to Qingjiang. “Are you regretting that you didn’t kill…”
“I never regret anything I’ve done. You, on the other hand, Fellow Daoist… ever since we met again, you’ve seemed so anxious and insecure. That’s not good for your cultivation.”
Qingjiang cut Leng Kezhen off, steering the conversation away. When Leng Kezhen had served as a Thousand Households on Mozhou Road, the two had often worked together on cases. In those days, Qingjiang had carried herself with an air of superiority. After all, she had the backing of a Third Realm Cultivator, so everyone had to tread carefully around her.
Leng Kezhen glanced at the silver strands at Qingjiang’s temples. “You must be approaching the end of your lifespan, right?” he asked. “Is there any chance for a breakthrough?”
Qingjiang’s eyes glinted as she stared past the Lighting Arrays into the inky black sky. She said:
“Changqing Zhenren entrusted this army to you and me to give us an opportunity. You don’t need to overthink it. The Cultivation Realm, as dirty and complicated as it can be, is still far simpler than the Imperial Court. You just have to do what needs to be done. Succeed, and no one can take away the merit you’ve earned.”
Leng Kezhen fell silent for a moment before a smile touched his lips. He straightened his posture, his gaze following Qingjiang’s into the unknown darkness. “You’re right about that,” he responded. “At least Changqing Zhenren isn’t like those foolish emperors and their ministers!”
Just then, dozens of streaks of light shot up into the dark sky from the direction of Lishui Prefecture. A moment later, the sea, which had just begun to calm, roiled with towering waves.
The enemy’s Entering Cultivators were making their move!
“Yu Yan, it’s your team’s turn…”
As Qingjiang spoke in a low voice, ten figures materialized from the dim air beside her, all cupping their fists in a salute. Their leader replied, “Yes, Master!”
This was Min Yu Yan, one of Qingjiang’s Direct Disciples. She was an Entering Cultivator who specialized in water. After saluting, she led the nine behind her into the sky, transforming into streaks of light. A series of sonic booms thundered across the sky, and dozens of breaths later, they reached the front line.
The massive waves kicked up by the Linshui Mansion cultivators had been frozen solid. The Foundation Establishment Cultivators from the Shang’an Prefecture fleet were now using their Magical Power to break the ice. Meanwhile, the Entering Cultivators who had arrived earlier had erected a defensive barrier before the fleet, standing ready for battle.
Min Yu Yan surveyed the battlefield, her gaze landing on the charging Entering Cultivators from Lishui Prefecture. A murderous glint flashed in her eyes as she simultaneously slapped her storage pouch and formed a hand seal for a Spell.
It was the Spell of the Water Sword Book.
The next moment, a dozen or so special “Power Pills” flew from her storage pouch and hovered in front of her. They were immediately enveloped by a dense swarm of Water Swords, which then screamed toward the position of the Linshui Mansion cultivators.
In just a few moments, the dense rain of Water Swords reached the Lishui Prefecture cultivators.
Those cultivators looked on with disdain. Just as they were about to channel their True Essence to sweep aside the Water Swords, a blinding white light erupted with a colossal BOOM. Their hearts leaped in their chests as they instinctively cast defensive Magic to protect themselves.
“After this battle, the state of the world will change forever,” a nearby cultivator exclaimed. “Because now even mortals have the power to fight against an Entering Cultivator!”
As his words faded, roaring cheers erupted from the fleet below!
The killing intent in Min Yu Yan’s eyes grew even stronger. A cyan Longsword had appeared in her hand, and Water Spirit Qi billowed around her. The very instant the energy from the “Power Pills” dissipated, she gave a single, cold command: “Charge!”
As she gave the order, she personally led the charge into the enemy’s formation. Her Longsword flashed, cleaving a battered Lishui Prefecture cultivator at the forefront in two at the waist. As scarlet blood fountained, the Longsword shot from her hand, piercing the chest of an Earth Vein Cultivator fifty feet away.
At the same time, the nine cultivators behind her employed their own techniques, slaughtering the enemy cultivators whose True Essence had been drained by the “Power Pills.”
In the blink of an eye, the white mist was stained red with blood. As the spiritual senses of the other Linshui Mansion cultivators swept across the area, Min Yu Yan’s left hand flew through the signs of another Spell, and a dense swarm of Water Swords materialized around her once more.
By now, the cultivators from Lishui Prefecture were utterly terrified. They transformed into streaks of light and fled in a desperate retreat…
