Jax’s head immediately snapped back toward him. “Bro, enough—”

West raised one hand and Jax immediately stopped.

West looked back at the camera and his voice became quieter. “I’m a disgusting cunt.”

Several Shadow Reapers members visibly flinched.

One of them muttered under his breath, “That bastard…”

But West kept going. “I’m a pathetic bastard.”

His fists clenched by his sides. “A powerless mutt.”

His eyes began to burn with restrained fury. “A worthless piece of shit.”

He took a slow breath. “The truth is…”

West’s voice became almost emotionless. “…I’m nothing.”

Jax could barely contain himself anymore. “Stop this.”

West didn’t look at him because he knew that if he looked away from the camera, even for a second, he might not finish.

“I’m just a coward who acts tough when I’m actually nothing.”

Every word felt disgusting coming out of his mouth.

West Einstein had never considered himself invincible since he knew there were stronger awakened capable of killing him… but to sit there and deliberately tear himself apart?

That was something entirely different.

“I should have stayed away from Matthew.”

His eyes lowered. “I’m sorry.”

“Matthew…”

His voice almost broke. “…I’m sorry for what I did to you.”

He stared at the camera. “I apologize.”

His eyes slowly narrowed. “I hope you can forgive this pathetic, disgusting, powerless mutt.”

The room was dead silent as West reached forward and… click~

The recording ended.

West remained on his knees with his phone resting loosely in his hand.

Jax immediately walked forward. “Don’t send that.”

West slowly looked at him.

Jax’s eyes were red with anger. “He’s playing with you. That’s all this is. He wants to see you break.”

West looked down at the video and for several seconds, he said nothing.

All of a sudden, his thumb moved and he clicked send. The file immediately began uploading.

Jax stared at him. “West…”

West slowly pushed himself back to his feet as his expression became calm again.

But beneath that calmness… something violent was brewing.

“He thinks he won,” West slipped his phone into his pocket. “Let him enjoy it.”

His eyes slowly darkened. “Every second Aria and Liz remain in his hands…”

His voice dropped. “…he’s buying himself another reason for me to make his death painful.”

A moment later, Angel Trigger received the video… and when he pressed play, his laughter echoed through the room.

“Look at him!” Angel Trigger threw his head back. “The great West Einstein!”

He replayed the section where West called himself a little bitch again and again and again…

His subordinates in the surroundings laughed along with him.

Angel Trigger leaned back, grinning. “Truly convincing.”

Only a few minutes passed before West’s phone rang…

He answered and from the other end, Angel Trigger was laughing…

“That was beautiful.”

“Truly convincing,” Angel Trigger chuckled. “You really would do anything for the people you love, wouldn’t you?”

West’s eyes narrowed. “Wouldn’t you?”

There was a brief pause beforr Angel Trigger voiced with a serious tone. “Perhaps.”

“But let’s not get sentimental.”

“What’s next?”

“Now…”

Angel Trigger deliberately paused. “The second demand.”

West’s expression became colder. “Go ahead.”

Angel Trigger smiled on the other end. “I want you to do something that will be a little more difficult.”

West listened.. and as Angel Trigger explained his next demand, West’s expression slowly changed.

“Do you understand?”

West remained silent for several seconds before answering. “…I understand.”

“Good.”

West lowered the phone as the call ended.

Jax immediately approached. “What did he want?”

West stared at the blank screen. “He wants me to go somewhere.”

“Where?”

West looked toward the window. “Black arrow gang.”

Jax frowned. “And?”

West’s eyes hardened. “And he wants me to do something there that could put me directly against their gang.”

West slipped his phone into his pocket. “Apparently, humiliating me wasn’t enough.”

His expression became cold. “Now he wants to multiply the number of enemies I already have.”

For the next week, West Einstein’s life became something he had never imagined it could become.

He had faced ruin monsters, fought high ranking gang members, walked into dangerous territories alone and stared death in the face more times than he could count.

Yet somehow, none of those experiences had been as frustrating as spending an entire week being treated like Angel Trigger’s personal errand boy…

Every morning, there was another call… every afternoon was a new demand…

And every evening, West returned to Shadow Reapers looking like he had aged several years.

The third demand had been relatively simple. “Go to the eastern district and collect a package.”

Then the fourth… “Deliver this to someone at Brist district.”

“There’s a media man who pissed me off. Go hang him upside down from the top of a 200 storey building.”

West had stared at the phone for several seconds.

“You have people for this.”

“I know.”

“Then why am I doing it?”

“Because I said so.”

West had clenched his teeth but went nonetheless. Angel Trigger seemed to derive some sick pleasure from being able to command a gang leader however he pleased.

The errands continued one after another.

Angel Trigger seemed determined to test exactly how far West would go.

At one point, West received a message containing nothing but an address.

When he arrived, someone handed him a ridiculous costume and a phone.

“Put it on.”

West stared at the outfit. “No.”

“Think about Aria and Liz,” Angel Trigger voice came from the other end.

West’s expression darkened and five minutes later, he was wearing the ridiculous outfit.

The recording lasted less than thirty seconds.

Angel Trigger apparently found it hilarious but West did not. However, he had no choice but to endure.

Every time his pride wanted him to fight back, he remembered two names… Aria and Liz.

—

One afternoon, Angel Trigger gave him another demand and West headed to the location.

West stood outside a warehouse. “What do you want me to do?”

“This is someone who got on my nerves,” Angel Trigger’s voice was completely casual. “Cut off an arm and a leg.”

West’s eyes hardened as he looked at the person Angel Trigger had indicated.

The man stood before him terrified…

“You’re joking,” West muttered.

“I’m not.”
