Chapter 155: Gang Registration Bureau
Chapter 155: Gang Registration Bureau
“Becca gave me his contact.”
Her posture immediately straightened.
“Oh—!”
“I apologize.”
“If you’re here for Mr. Voss, please follow me.”
She stepped out from behind the counter and led him deeper into the building.
They passed through several hallways until reaching a secluded workshop area.
The sound of loud machinery filled the air.
Inside, a man was hunched over a complex device that looked like a hybrid between a forge and a high-tech fabrication machine.
He was completely absorbed in his work causing the employee to yell.
“Mr. Voss!”
No response.
She tried again.
“MR. VOSS!”
The man finally turned.
“WHAT?!”
He shut off the machine and removed a pair of protective goggles.
He looked to be in his late thirties with messy hair and burn marks on his gloves.
“Yeah?”
West stepped forward.
“My name is Rain.”
“From Becca.”
The man’s face instantly lit up.
“Ah!”
“Becca’s friend!”
He walked over enthusiastically and shook West’s hand.
“Welcome!”
“Anyone Becca trusts is welcome here.”
“So what can I do for you?”
West got straight to the point.
“I want to craft a frost-based weapon.”
Orion nodded.
“That’s doable.”
“But frost weapons require specific components.”
He rubbed his chin.
“The materials alone would cost quite a bit.”
West reached into his inventory and instantly placed the Cryoheart Shard on the table.
The moment it appeared, the temperature in the room dropped and frost formed lightly along the metal table.
Orion eyes widened as he froze in place.
“…You…”
“…YOU HAD THIS?!”
His jaw dropped.
“You had a Cryoheart Shard and didn’t say anything?!”
He immediately snatched it up and examined it like a child who had just been handed the greatest toy in existence.
“Oh my god…”
“Look at the purity!”
“The energy density!”
“This is incredible!”
He practically started rambling.
“Do you know how rare this is?!”
“I’ve always wanted to work with one of these!”
West raised an eyebrow.
“So… can you use it?”
“CAN I USE IT?!”
Orion looked offended.
“This thing is PERFECT!”
He looked at West with shining eyes.
“I won’t even charge you.”
West blinked.
“…Wait.”
“You sure?”
Orion waved his hand.
“Absolutely!”
“This is on the house.”
“Getting to craft a weapon using this shard is already payment enough.”
It was obvious that this man was passionate about his work.
West chuckled.
“Alright.”
“What kind of weapon do you want?” Orion asked eagerly.
West thought for a moment before answering:
“A katana.”
It seemed perfect for Jax…
Orion grinned.
“Excellent choice.”
He immediately began sketching design ideas.
After discussing the details for a while, they finalized the concept.
Orion looked thrilled.
“This will take about one to two weeks.”
“Come back then.”
West nodded.
“Thanks.”
After showing his appreciation, he left the forge.

The next day which was Thursday, arrived quickly.
This was the last day of school since graduation would be held on Friday.
The campus was filled with excitement as students ran around discussing plans.
Decorations were already being prepared as teachers got busy organizing the ceremony.
But West felt oddly detached from it all.
He sat with Mira and Nina during lunch while Mira talked excitedly.
“I already sent my application to Crescent University!”
“That campus is amazing!”
Then she looked at Nina.
“What about you?”
Nina shrugged.
“I’m not sure yet.”
“Maybe college.”
“Maybe something else.”
Then they both looked at West.
“And you?”
West leaned back in his chair.
“I’ll focus on awakened business.”
That was the truth.
But he added:
“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t interested in college.”
“I just might not have the time.”
Mira immediately grabbed his arm.
“You should apply to the same college as me!”
“Come on!”
West chuckled and shrugged.
“We’ll see.”
But internally, his mind was already somewhere else.
Because after school today, he had somewhere important to go.
The Gang Registration Bureau.
It was finally time to register his gang officially.
…
…
The Gang Registration Bureau stood in the administrative district of the city, surrounded by government buildings that looked far more lavish than the rough environments where low level gangs were usually found.
The building itself was tall, rectangular, and intimidating in that bureaucratic sort of way. Its glass façade reflected the cloudy afternoon sky while several security drones hovered quietly above the entrance.
West stood across the street with Jax and Nina, both of them staring up at the building.
Jax whistled softly.
“So this is it…”
Nina folded her arms.
“I didn’t think registering a gang would involve government offices.”
West shrugged.
“Well, its a sham. On the outside it seems operated by the government but the truth is that an awakened faction secretly runs things from underground. The government doesn’t have any real power… not in this day and age.”
He looked toward the entrance.
“Let’s go.”
The three crossed the street and stepped inside.
The interior looked like a mixture between a government office and a corporate headquarters. Beautiful floors, white walls, glass partitions, and a large digital directory listing different departments.
One of the walls had a large display showing the names of registered gangs operating within the city.
Some of them were massive organizations while others were smaller but all of them had one thing in common… they were official.
And soon, if everything went right, his gang would be among them.
They approached the reception desk where a woman wearing a formal suit looked up from her terminal.
“Welcome to the Gang Registration Bureau. How may I assist you?”
West stepped forward.
“We’re here to register a gang.”
The woman gave a small nod.
“Of course.”
She typed something into her terminal before gesturing toward a row of chairs nearby.
“Please have a seat while I verify your documentation.”
After a few minutes, they were called to one of the private registration desks.
The man sitting behind the desk looked middle-aged with neatly combed hair and a calm professional demeanor.
“Good afternoon,” he greeted.
“I’m Officer Halden. I’ll be assisting you with the registration process.”
He glanced at the three of them carefully.
“You all look quite young.”
