My Crazy Upgrade System
Chapter 626 - 625: The Boat Sails on Land
Chapter 626: Chapter 625: The Boat Sails on Land
Yi Tianyun couldn’t be bothered to respond to the crowd’s ridicule. Their reaction was perfectly normal. A young man in his early twenties claiming he could escort people through the Netherworld? It had to be a joke.
Nine out of ten people wouldn’t believe him. The one who did would have to be crazy.
"Young man, take my advice. If you want to go to the Netherworld, you need a higher cultivation level. Even though the passage is a little safer than it used to be, it’s still extremely dangerous," Ding Qing said tactfully, speaking like a concerned older sister.
The other Cultivators with Ding Qing, however, were unimpressed and even annoyed. To them, Yi Tianyun’s appearance was a complete waste of time.
The problem was that their leader was wasting her breath trying to persuade him. If it were them, they wouldn’t have bothered. They just sat off to the side, too lazy to say a single word.
Yi Tianyun walked over, kicked the raft into the water, and jumped aboard. "Get on," he said. "No need to build any more boats. One is enough."
His actions left everyone dumbfounded. To just up and leave like that... he really was arrogant. ’Is he just fearless because he’s ignorant?’
"Ding Qing, this is what you get for being too nice. Looks like you ran into a real idiot this time, huh? Trying to impress you? I didn’t realize you were so captivating," Liu De sneered.
"Get lost!" Ding Qing snapped at him. She then walked onto the raft and tried to reason with Yi Tianyun. "It’s not like the outside world here. It’s incredibly dangerous to travel with so few people."
"A few others are coming along. If you’re not getting on, I’m leaving. I have no time to waste here," Yi Tianyun said, looking up at them with a detached expression.
"Ding Qing, just kick that brat off the raft! Let him have a nice long soak in this Nether River. Maybe then he’ll learn where he is!" Liu De jeered from the riverbank.
"Young man, what you’re doing isn’t just irresponsible to yourself, it’s irresponsible to us!" Ding Qing was angry now, her dissatisfaction with Yi Tianyun’s actions clear.
"I am the Celestial Cloud Emperor. Is that title alone not enough to be responsible for you?" Yi Tianyun declared.
But instead of being met with bows of reverence, his words were met with outright laughter.
"Haha! If you’re the Great Emperor, then I’m the Supreme Emperor!" Liu De howled with laughter. He never expected to run into such a clown; it made all of them laugh.
"Young man, you can’t just say things like that! If anyone from the Celestial Cloud Empire heard you, you’d be a dead man!" Ding Qing’s face fell.
Yi Tianyun felt a pang of helplessness. ’Why does no one believe me when I tell them who I am?’
"Since you’re the Supreme Emperor, why don’t you get down there and go for a swim!" Yi Tianyun’s gaze turned cold. With a forward thrust of his palm, an invisible force sent Liu De flying before he could even react, landing him in the water.
"AHHH..." Liu De shrieked, frantically swimming back toward the shore. The poison was seeping into his body—this was no joke. "You brat, I’ll kill you!"
"Kill me?" Yi Tianyun flicked his hand again, and Liu De was forced under the water, unable to move. A moment later, Yi Tianyun allowed him to surface.
Having swallowed several mouthfuls of the river water, Liu De’s face had already turned a ghastly black, and his heart was filled with terror. "I... I was wrong! Let me get out! Let me get out..."
At this, the expressions of the others changed dramatically. It was unbelievable. Liu De’s cultivation wasn’t high, but he was at the Core Formation stage, at the very least. Yet now he was being held under the water, completely immobilized.
This meant the young man’s cultivation was far beyond Liu De’s!
"Are you coming or not?" Yi Tianyun asked, looking at them. "If not, I’m leaving alone."
Flying was forbidden here. Even with his considerable cultivation, he couldn’t fly across; the rules of a Divine King were not so easily broken. That was why he, too, had to obediently cross by boat. He had simply seen that Ding Qing seemed like a decent person and decided to give her and her group a ride.
"We... we’re going!" Ding Qing snapped back to her senses and hurriedly turned to her companions. "What are you all standing there gawking for? Get down here, quick!"
"Oh, right..."
They scrambled down. After seeing Yi Tianyun’s display of power, those who had thought him a madman now knew he was anything but.
"Is that everyone?" Yi Tianyun asked coolly.
"That’s everyone..." Ding Qing found her voice was a few notches quieter, lacking its earlier forcefulness. In her heart, she was beginning to believe that this young man might actually be the Celestial Cloud Emperor.
"Then we’re off."
Yi Tianyun slapped the surface of the water with his palm. With a WHOOSH, the entire raft shot forward like a Sharp Arrow, its speed defying imagination. In the blink of an eye, it vanished from the sight of those left behind, leaving only the sound of rushing water in its wake.
"W-what was that speed? That’s terrifying... Could he really be the Celestial Cloud Emperor?"
"It’s entirely possible. I’ve heard that the Celestial Cloud Emperor is very young, only in his early twenties..."
"Does this mean we missed our chance to get on his good side? Damn it! And to think Ding Qing was the one who got lucky!"
The group was overcome with regret. As for Liu De, who had managed to crawl ashore, he was already deeply poisoned. Whether he lived or died now depended on his own luck. No one dared to help him. This was his punishment from the Celestial Cloud Emperor; saving him would be the same as defying the Celestial Cloud Emperor.
Yi Tianyun couldn’t care less what they were thinking. He simply carried Ding Qing and her companions forward at incredible speed—dozens of times faster than his first journey here!
They didn’t even need to row; the raft moved forward propelled solely by Yi Tianyun’s power. The Netherwater Sharks in the river didn’t dare come near. Who would be so bold as to approach in the face of such a terrifying aura?
Ding Qing and her companions sat in stunned silence, watching the scenery blur past them. They soon reached the opposite bank. Just as they were preparing to disembark, Yi Tianyun suddenly said, "Don’t move. Just stay where you are."
He then slapped his palm downwards. The entire raft leaped into the air, landed on the ground, and continued to speed forward! It was slightly slower than on the water, but it still shot ahead at a blistering pace.
This scene left them completely stunned. A raft that could travel on land?
Of course, this was no problem for him. As long as a Cultivator’s cultivation was strong enough, they could release their Spiritual Power to lift anything. That was exactly what he was doing now, effortlessly levitating the raft and carrying them onward without them even needing to disembark.
If anyone had been watching from the sidelines, the sight of a raft cruising across solid ground would have been shocking enough. But the fact that it was carrying five people made it even more outrageous.
The raft continued to tear across the landscape, passing through one perilous area after another. They could see Demon Beasts lurking at a distance, watching but not daring to approach. Only then were they reminded of the danger; otherwise, they might have mistaken the journey for a sightseeing tour.
