My Core is the Boss

Chapter 414.2: So the Entire Divine Moon Palace Is Full of Your Wives?

Hongyu froze. Is someone helping me? Or is this a trap?

Not like she had any choice. If she threw away this chance, only death awaited her. Without the slightest hesitation, she immediately flew toward the crimson Flame Mountain in the southwest.

"Hmph! Where do you think you are running to?!"

The five Yin Spirits gave chase at full speed.

Gritting her teeth, Hongyu plunged directly into the crimson flame mountain.

The familiar voice sounded in her ears once more.

—Keep going forward and come to my location. Remember to conceal your aura.

The owner of the voice also left behind a mark to guide her.

She was somewhat bewildered. "S-Senior?"

Wouldn't this only bring trouble upon her benefactor? Just then, an enormous tremor erupted. The Flame Mountain behind her violently exploded. The entire world became scorching hot. The pursuing Moluo Clan Yin Spirits were immediately swallowed by the flames. Since the Flame Mountain was no ordinary volcano, its eruption was not merely fire, but a terrifying force that even Yin Spirits dared not underestimate.

The pursuing Yin Spirits were completely caught off guard by the explosion. By the time they emerged from the sea of flames, Hongyu had completely vanished.

"Damn it!"

"Where did she go? She actually escaped!"

"Search for her! She's badly wounded! She can't have gotten far!"

The Yin Spirits transformed into streaks of light and scattered in every direction, continuing their pursuit.

About a hundred breaths later, Hongyu found herself inside a tent. She stared perplexedly at Qi Yuan, saying softly, "Thank you very much for saving me, Senior!"

In truth, Hongyu's heart was filled with confusion. The Black Demon Abyss was enormous, and portions of it were actually hostile toward the Divine Moon Palace, with some even engaged in open warfare. Yet a cultivator from the Black Demon Abyss had actually rescued her.

He asked, "You're from the Divine Moon Palace?"

He saved her after detecting the aura of the Divine Moon Palace upon her. Having obtained part of Mochi's memories, he was extremely familiar with the Divine Moon Palace's aura.

She nodded. "Yes."

He asked enthusiastically, "What a coincidence. One of my wives is also in the Divine Moon Palace. Do you know her?"

Hongyu thought she understood why he had saved her. "Which Senior would that be?"

Qi Yuan concealed nothing. "Her name is Jin Li. She's one of the Moon Maidens."

Hongyu swallowed hard and blinked. "You are talking about Moon Maiden Jin Li!"

She was completely stunned. The Moon Maidens occupied an extremely special position within the Divine Moon Palace. It could be said that every Moon Maiden was raised as a future palace master. In other words, Moon Maidens practically enjoyed treatment equal to that of Yang Spirits.

With such status naturally came equally heavy responsibilities. Moon Maidens were forbidden from marrying and were not allowed to have husbands. Thus, Qi Yuan's bold claim made her skeptical. If the upper echelons of the Divine Moon Palace ever discovered that a Moon Maiden had married, Jin Li's fate would be utterly miserable.

He asked in rapid succession, "Have you met her? Is she happy in the Divine Moon Palace? How has she been?"

Hongyu shook her head. "I have been undercover in the Fifth Heaven for tens of thousands of years and have never met her."

As for the matter of the Moon Maiden having a husband, she intended to take that secret to her grave.

"I've also got another wife in the Divine Moon Palace. Her name is Ruan Yixi. Do you know her?"

Hongyu was speechless. She almost couldn't hold herself together anymore. Did you just turn the Divine Moon Palace into your personal harem?

In the end, all she said was, "I've never heard of her."

He became extremely disappointed. "It looks like I'll have to go find my wives myself."

"Senior, my injuries have recovered somewhat, so I should leave. I don't wish to remain here and bring trouble upon you."

Frankly, her injuries were still severe, but if the Moluo Clan searched the area and found her, Qi Yuan would inevitably be implicated.

He declared heroically, "It's fine. I'm with the Black Demon Abyss now, so I'm not afraid of the Moluo Clan. You're a colleague of two of my wives, so just stay here peacefully. There won't be any problem!"

Having someone from the Divine Moon Palace around was also convenient. Once he reached the Sixth Heaven, she'd be able to help him find Jin Li. Without anyone to guide him, barging in on his own would probably end in a spectacular failure.

Hongyu hesitated. "Th-this..."

At that moment, voices from Moluo Clan cultivators sounded from outside. "Senior, we are pursuing a fugitive. May we trouble you to come out and allow us to search your cave abode?"

They were extremely polite. After all, this was where a cultivator of the Black Demon Abyss was staying. Had it belonged to any other sacred land, they would already have barged in.

Hongyu immediately tensed, every muscle in her body tightening as she prepared to fight at any moment.

Qi Yuan acted remarkably well. "Scram, you filthy pigs! Stay out of my cave abode! What?! Do you think I would actually harbor a criminal?"

He perfectly portrayed an overbearing, arrogant, and self-important Black Demon Abyss cultivator. As it happened, the Moluo Clan cultivators responded exactly to that kind of attitude. Sure enough, they bent their backs even lower, forcing smiles onto their faces.

"Sorry for disturbing you, Senior!"

"This is entirely our fault!"

After taking one deep look at Qi Yuan's tent, they all withdrew.

Sensing that they had left, he could not help but sigh. "This Black Demon Abyss identity is really useful."

However, he still did not fully understand why the Moluo Clan feared the Black Demon Abyss so much. Soul-searching a Yang Spirit was completely different from soul-searching an ordinary cultivator, so he had only obtained fragments of their memories. It’d be a different story if he went to the Star World and devoured Mochi's star.

Qi Yuan casually asked Hongyu, "Do you know why the Moluo Clan fears the Black Demon Abyss?"

There were only a little over ten days left before he would ascend to the upper world disguised as Mochi. Since fishing was no longer possible, he might as well chat and learn more.

Hongyu hesitated briefly before softly replying, "It has something to do with the Moluo Clan's Creation Treasure."

His interest was piqued. Although the Myriad Phenomena Gate was the greatest Creation Treasure, it did not actually increase Qi Yuan's combat power, and using it also wasted a great deal of time.

"The Moluo Clan's Creation Divine Treasure is called the Moluo Well."

His eyes widened. "What? A well?!"

Hongyu looked somewhat bewildered, not understanding what was so special about a well. "Senior, what's wrong?"

"Strange. Just a few days ago, I mentioned that my family’s well had gone missing too, carried away by someone. Could the Moluo Well actually be my family’s well?"

Someone had once stolen the Myriad Phenomena Gate, though it had eventually been recovered. As for the well, it had been carried away from its hometown and still had not been found. The Moluo Well appeared strangely familiar to him, resembling the well from his own home.

Hongyu smiled, though inwardly she was rather baffled. "Senior, you are quite humorous."

Qi Yuan appeared crestfallen, his mind entirely occupied by thoughts of his family's missing well. Even so, he remained rational. "Go on. I'm listening."

Hongyu explained, "As the highest heaven in the cultivation world, the Sixth Heaven is the most suitable place for Heavenly Venerables to cultivate. As such, the Sixth Heaven contains numerous great sacred lands.

"Generally, Heavenly Venerables from the lower five heavens who lack a sacred land will ascend to the Sixth Heaven and choose to join one. However, among all the Sixth Heaven’s sacred lands, the Black Demon Abyss is the most unusual one. Yang Spirits that do not have the bloodline of the Black Demon Abyss cannot enter."

The Sixth Heaven was structured like a pyramid. Furthermore, a Heavenly Venerable’s cultivation speed in the Sixth Heaven was several times faster than in any of the lower heavens. A mere difference in the flow of time could not compensate for such a disparity. Hence, for Heavenly Venerables, the Sixth Heaven was a true paradise of cultivation. All the Yang Spirits below longed to ascend there and cultivate within it.

Yet, the Sixth Heaven was not at all welcoming to outside Yang Spirits.
