My Core is the Boss

Chapter 411.1: Getting Rich Together

Qi yuan appeared in a desolate stretch of land. "Don’t make the Violet Qi too strong or too alluring. It needs to stay aloof and cool, so he feels like it's special. It’s more like Violet Qi has some interest in him but is too reserved to make the first move.

"Before he sees the Violet Qi, there needs to be some hardship and obstacles thrown in. If it comes too easily, he’ll grow suspicious and even suspect that the Myriad Principle Gate waiting behind it is some kind of honey trap. Add a bit of difficulty, and he'll feel like he earned it."

Thus, he withdrew his aura then burst outward. "Five elements, scramble!"

Scattering the five elements was effortless for Qi Yuan, but for other Yang Spirits, it was difficult unless they specialized in the five elements and had comprehended their deepest principles. That was precisely what Qi Yuan had done back on Moonwatch Continent, laying the very foundation for his Qi Refinement. As a result, this counterfeit of his was thoroughly convincing. Even a Yang Spirit who had mastered the principles of the five elements would be none the wiser.

"Now, add in a few broken ancient arrays..."

Though he hadn’t studied array arts that deeply, his eyes could still see the hidden information. Modifying a few arrays until even their own mother wouldn't recognize them was simple enough for him.

After half a day had passed, Qi Yuan looked over his handiwork, thoroughly pleased. "I can’t believe it took me half a day just to set up a lure. Still, I've gained some experience. Next time, I can just copy and paste the whole setup! Shame my Violet Qi is so limited, and I've only got one Myriad Principle Gate. Otherwise, it would’ve been nice to set up a few more lures. I can't mass-produce it and can't industrialize it... How inefficient. Well, at least I figured out the issue."

He looked over his bait, satisfaction written across his face. "I better give it a little push, in case that Yang Spirit turns out to be a homebody who won't come out."

Following that, he gave a light press downward with his finger. In an instant, the spiritual qi within the trap surged violently, spilling out and shooting up toward the sky.

"There. Time to head back." With a clap of his hand, Qi Yuan vanished. "I ought to be careful these next few days. My front door's gone, so I better keep an eye out. What if a burglar gets in?"

***

Inside a Moluo Sacred Tower, Heavenly Venerable Mochi sat within his cave residence, his loose robes faintly tinged with the color of blood.

He stared at the order before him with a fierce look. "I'm cultivating just fine where I am. Why must I go to that damned Demon Abyss battlefield?! I can’t even kill the ants there and have to fight fellow cultivators instead. How boring can it get?!"

Not long ago, he had received orders from the Council of Elders: take over from Heavenly Venerable Mocan and guard the Demon Abyss. Mochi was extremely unwilling. After all, the ones he’d be facing were Heavenly Venerables from the Divine Moon Palace, and none of them were his match. In the end, he had no choice but to grit his teeth and endure the humiliation.

Worse still, under the wartime ban, he couldn't even lay a hand on the lower-ranked cultivators without cause. This assignment was nothing but a slow torment. He couldn't beat the Yang Spirits, couldn't kill the Yin Spirits, and couldn't even vent his frustration.

"Within a month, I have to report there... Damn it!" He had no desire to go to the front lines. Once stationed there, it would likely mean ten thousand years of guard duty. Still, it wasn’t like he could refuse the Council of Elders' appointment. "Even a Heavenly Venerable has it difficult. Whew..."

Then, suddenly, his brow lifted. "Hm?"

Faintly, he had sensed a trace of something unusual. Mochi rose to his feet at once, his gaze seeming to pierce straight through the clouds to somewhere ten thousand miles away. He narrowed his eyes as the faraway scene came into view. In a distant, uninhabited stretch of land, spiritual qi churned in disorder. The five elements were in chaos.

"This is..." Without a moment's hesitation, Mochi teleported to the desolated land. He carefully suppressed his aura, pretending to be an ordinary Mythic. "Five elemental qi in disarray... Either a great treasure has surfaced, or something extraordinary is happening here."

His eyes blazed as he strained to see through the scene before him. "Huh? An ancient array is blocking the way?"

His eyes lit up. "Something even I can't get past... could it be..."

There’s a great treasure here! Definitely! Maybe it’s some ancient era elite's old residence?!

Just then, his instincts kicked in. "Something feels off. This is far too convenient."

It was like an ordinary man asleep in his house, suddenly jolted awake by a noise. When he stepped outside, he found a hole in the ground with a sign beside it proclaiming, “Great treasure within.”

A treasure capable of stirring even a Yang Spirit's heart was exceedingly rare and the odds of stumbling across one were abysmal. Yet here, right in front of him, the five elements lay in chaos.

Mochi stretched out his palm, hiding the entire region. "Seal!"

Whatever it was, he'd cover up first. Otherwise, if the chaotic energy kept leaking out, some other Yang Spirit would sense it within a few years.

"Besides, this is the core territory of Moluo Clan. I can go and take a look. What’s the worst that can happen?" As he stepped forward, a broken ancient array appeared before him. "I have never seen anything quite like this array. It must be some lost technique from ancient times."

After a brief contemplation, he charged straight into the ancient array without hesitation. A few hundred breaths later, Mochi managed to push farther in, sighing in relief. "Good thing this array is so worn with age. Otherwise, breaking through it properly would've taken at least a hundred days."

Though a hundred days was nothing to a Yang Spirit, he still had to report to the Sixth Heaven within a month. There was no time to spare.

"There's another array ahead. There must be—hm? Violet Qi?!" He beamed as his mind reeled. "It's actually the foremost qi of the immortal realm! No wonder the five elements were thrown into such a mess!"

For a Yang Spirit, it was priceless. If a Mythic Past Self received it, they could rise straight to the Yang Spirit realm. As for an ordinary Heavenly Position cultivator, their rise in cultivation was generally reflected by their stars, which required Violet Qi. The more Violet Qi one possessed, the stronger the star projection and the reflective effect became. Their strength would naturally grow faster as well.

This was exactly why every Heavenly Venerable had been so shocked when the Ten Suns Heavenly Sovereign dared to challenge the Great Sun Position. First, it meant the Ten Suns Heavenly Sovereign had abundant Violet Qi. Second, it meant his talent had to be extraordinary, capable of suspending ten suns all at once. Of course, none of them knew that their star projections were nothing like Qi Yuan's.

Overjoyed beyond words, he pressed on toward the next ancient array without a shred of hesitation. "Fortune favors me! Never thought a day like this would come for me, Mochi!"
