One of the detectives couldn't help sighing.

The one who just went out to help and lured Lisa away.

"What a damn shame, our good brother ran into a woman who's clearly not that simple."

"That's why I say this is all thanks to our life experience, so touching, I'm tearing up, we're practically family."

Qin Lekai couldn't stand his brothers grumbling here and cut in.

"Can you guys stop talking crap like that? Otherwise next time you can be the one doing it. Think you can charm someone away in this kind of emergency?"

Once they heard Qin Lekai speak up, nobody dared say anything else. "Okay, okay."

"Big bro, we were just joking around, you know?"

"If it were really our turn, which of us could handle it, huh? That brother outside is the real MVP."

Qin Lekai rolled his eyes. "Enough, quit messing around. She's gone, we need to hurry and get this stuff back to analyze."

"Maybe we can actually find some clues tonight. Otherwise, tomorrow we'll only have four and a half days left."

They needed sleep too. Even though once they start working they basically sleep only four or five hours a day,

they still felt under intense pressure.

This time Lin Feng's commission was huge, and the difficulty level was sky-high.

So they didn't have much time to finish the job. In this kind of race, they had to grab every second.

The few of them nodded, then headed out together.

They opened the door.

They slipped into the elevator and rode it down. But when they reached the first floor, a woman's voice stopped them.

"Wait, where did you come down from?"

They heard the voice and turned around—wasn't that Lisa, the one a detective had just asked out?

Why was she still here?

They were screwed. All of them felt a bit like collapsing inside.

That brother was way too unreliable.

If he'd already asked Lisa out, why didn't he hurry up and get her out of the building?

She was actually waiting for them down here on the first floor?

Qin Lekai shot Si Nan a look, and Si Nan put on a very innocent expression and shrugged.

He hadn't expected Lisa to just not leave. He'd been about to send a message to Qin Lekai and the others,

but then he saw them coming down—it really caught him off guard. Qin Lekai smacked his own forehead.

He thought to himself that things might really go wrong this time.

Lisa walked up to them, pointed at the group and said, "What is going on with you guys? I thought you left the office already, so why are you just now coming out from inside?"

"Tell me, where were you hiding just now?"

All of a sudden Lisa became downright scary.

She stared at them, her eyes probing nonstop. She was a secretary, not some brainless woman.

The detectives of course couldn't go head-to-head with her by telling the truth. Plus, they already had the finely honed acting skills of seasoned performers.

So they lied. "Here's the thing, sis, we came back because we needed to see him about something. We didn't know if you were still in the office."

"So we went up to check, but found nobody there, so we came back down."

After they said this, Lisa's eyes were still full of disbelief, but the brother beside her chimed in.

"Lisa, let's hurry up and go get that coffee. These guys came looking for me, it's gotta be about tonight's gaming session."

"We finally got a new job, we have to celebrate a bit. So don't take it to heart, okay? Don't bother arguing with them, alright?"

Watching their brother work his pretty-boy charm, Qin Lekai and the others couldn't help secretly giving him a thumbs-up.

He was ruthless, and seriously impressive. To be honest, they'd never had to sacrifice their looks for a case before.

But starting today, things were clearly different. Still, they were genuinely impressed with this brother. Lisa rolled her eyes.

She put a hand to her chest, then said to the fawning brother at her side, "Fine, fine. Since you're putting it that way, I won't make a fuss today."

"But you all need to be more careful."

"Without orders from leadership, you are not allowed to just wander up to the top floor. You should know that, right?"

"That's Director Zhang's personal office. Aside from a few of us secretaries and staff, anyone else going up there will just annoy Director Zhang."

"And it makes you look like you've got no sense of rules. If you do this again, I won't let you off so easily."

"Okay, okay, my dear sis, let's go. Don't waste time talking to them."

You had to admit, Lisa was really in a great mood today, having such a handsome little brother to go out for coffee with.

So she stopped being angry.

After she left, Qin Lekai and the others finally let out a breath. "Got to admit, our brother is seriously awesome, even this he can endure."

"Once we get back, I'm definitely going to reward him properly."

They joked around as they carried the files back to the car, drove home, and then Qin Lekai took charge of calling Lin Feng.

"Boss, we've already gotten our hands on all the files from Zhang Kaitian's office, but we've got one problem…"

"We still haven't sorted through the documents. Once we finish organizing, we'll report back to you. But we can't guarantee we'll find any clues."

Lin Feng took this case very seriously, so they had to update him on the latest situation no matter what.

Even if there was no progress, they still had to spell it out.

On Lin Feng's end, he nodded and said, "Alright, I know what you're capable of. Just go all in, and as soon as you find anything related to that guy, tell me immediately."

With Lin Feng's support, everyone dived into their work.

The first thing Qin Lekai did was pull all the data backed up on that phone and transfer it onto the computer.

Then he started screening it line by line. It was extremely complex and tedious for them, but once they got through this step,

everything afterwards would be much easier.

They spent the whole night combing through the files, looking for gaps.

Finally, at dawn, they found the faintest trace of a clue.
