Chapter 676: Chapter 676: The Depths

With the return of Huo Ziping and others to the town hall to submit their main quest, they successfully transitioned to the second stage of “Other Chapter”.

Han Dong had already thoroughly penetrated the backyard area.

The aisles were littered with the severed limbs of failed cultivators, which Han Dong couldn’t be bothered to collect, deeming this kind of basic cell essence to be of low value.

Cass was moving at the forefront, wielding his Cold Iron Barricade to clear the way with one hand.

It seemed as if the source of the lava was the entrance to Hell, serving as the exclusive access to the Hellish monastery…where all the failed cultivators and Togu they had met along the way had come from.

If they could find the entrance, they would be able to restore Togu.

Hence, one of the purposes of Han Dong’s trip to the monastery was accomplished.

“Shall we move on?” asked Cass.

“Wait…something’s coming out.”

From within the ash-filled corridor, a ‘nun’ slowly emerged from the depths. Her upper body was indeed that of a rather good-looking nun…but the appearance of her lower body was slightly off-putting.

The nun ‘crawled out’ from the depths in a prayerful posture.

Her lower body turned out to be the “Body of Locusts”.

She had translucent forelegs and middle legs, coupled with a pair of powerful black hind legs used specifically for jumping.

The body of the locust was adorned with numerous lava patterns, somewhat akin to Togu in a way…but she wasn’t a true cultivator.

Hell Locusts?

Upon first sight of the enemy, Diana fired off four sharp bone spurs.

However, the nun suddenly opened her eyes — which glowed like a nuclear core — and her black grasshopper legs propelled her airborne, avoiding the bone spurs and making rapid leaps within the corridor.

In just a split second, she was right in front of Han Dong and the others.

The nun opened her mouth, shooting out a tongue reminiscent of an alien creature, aimed straight at Diana.

Clang!

Just in time.

“Aid”.

One of the basic knight techniques of the “Lionheart Knight Group”, locking onto an ally…able to burst forth at 200% speed to the side of an ally, offering powerful protection.

This was immediately followed by a Shield Bash.

A direct hit sent the nun flying… Boom! Slamming heavily into the rock wall on one side, she was completely embedded in it.

Teaming up.

Taking advantage of Cass’ attack, Diana pivoted her heel, using the Night Watch’s advanced body technique — “Swift Step” — instantly closing in on the target.

Being dazed from the Shield Bash and pinned down in the wall, the nun failed to crawl out in time… she was greeted with a swift kick to the belly from Diana.

Boom~

The nun’s body sank deeper, her movements restricted by the wall.

“Palm Strike!”

Diana naturally had no intention of giving up.

As she kicked out, bright white bone spurs stretched between her palms, launching a direct frontal assault at an ultra-fast speed.

The bone spurs penetrated the body, followed immediately by the power of her palms.

This inflicted both “piercing” and “impact” physical damage, completely shattering the inner structure of the nun.

The nun, whilst enduring the blows from the palm strike, exuded a demon-like fluid similar to molten lava from her body against the wall…clearly, this series of continuous blows had done fundamental damage to her.

At this moment, Diana instinctively pulled back her attacks and ducked to avoid.

The transparent forelegs of the locust, sharp as a sickle, grazed the top of Diana’s head in the next second.

“Hellish lifeforms…especially those associated with the churches, these demons, every single one of them is like a cockroach that can’t be killed.

Even though they’re riddled with holes, they’re still able to retaliate normally.”

Han Dong responded immediately, deeply activating the G-virus, and grasping the nun’s several legs with one hand, pulling as hard as possible…while under complete control of the G-virus, he managed to pull off several of these forelegs in succession.

Next, Diana conjured a sharp bone blade, severing the nun’s most powerful black hind leg.

After eliminating her ability to move.

Clang clang clang…a chain was shot out from Han Dong’s hand, aimed directly at the nun’s body.

As the chain drilled completely into her body, the nun’s body slowly began to melt…transforming into a stream of molten essence which was absorbed by the chain.

“Effective, but very little…this type of locust does indeed carry a small amount of Hell Lava in its body, but it’s not essentially a demon. It might be a hybrid breed of a demon and other species.
