My Celestial Ascension

Chapter 963: A Sense Of Lightness

Nerith and Isolde arrived outside the tents accompanied by Emperor Rhex, King Evander, King Vargan, and Queen Lilith.

Emperor Rhex and the others were quite curious about the method that would be used to transport the bodies of the fallen soldiers, as they couldn’t imagine such a large number of corpses being carried by only two people.

Queen Lilith could no longer contain her curiosity; she wanted to witness the unheard-of method Nerith and Isolde were going to use.

"So, what are you going to do now? We’re waiting to see this new method of transport."

"Just give us a moment to prepare... However, I’m confident that all of you are going to be shocked."

Nerith flashed a mysterious grin as she stood before the hundreds of dead bodies, and with a smirk on her face, she extended her hand forward.

As soon as she infused a bit of her Spiritual Energy into her ring, nearly half of the dead bodies turned into wisps of light and entered the ring.

Isolde also extended her hand forward and did the same thing, storing the rest of the dead bodies inside her spatial ring.

"..."

Emperor Rhex, King Evander, King Vargan, and Queen Lilith appeared completely dumbfounded by what they had just witnessed, their jaws nearly dropping to the ground from shock and disbelief.

In the blink of an eye, hundreds of corpses disappeared right before their eyes, completely emptying the area as if nothing had ever been there at all.

"W-Where did all the dead bodies go?" Emperor Rhex muttered in a low voice, appearing utterly shocked and unable to believe what he had just seen.

Meanwhile, Queen Lilith’s sharp eyes remained fixed on the rings on Nerith and Isolde’s fingers.

"What kind of artifact even is that? To allow someone to store such a huge number of things... It’s simply unbelievable."

Queen Lilith possessed extremely sharp instincts, and she immediately realized that it was the rings on Nerith and Isolde’s fingers that had caused the dead bodies to suddenly disappear.

"Oh, this? It’s a powerful artifact called a spatial ring. It allows a person to store things inside it... Quite a convenient tool if you ask me," Nerith responded casually, as if it were the most ordinary thing in the world.

"Also, this thing has a massive amount of space inside. I could store almost anything in it as long as it isn’t alive."

Her response left everyone speechless for a few moments before they gradually recovered from their shock.

Queen Lilith stared at the rings for several more moments, looking extremely curious and interested after hearing how useful they were.

’It must be Yuan who gave them such valuable and mysterious artifacts...’

’Now I’m even more interested in him... Fufu~ just wait, Yuan. I’ll make sure to make you mine sooner or later...’

Queen Lilith laughed inwardly, her desire to make Yuan her man growing even stronger than before.

"I never thought that such a mysterious artifact could exist in this world... This is truly shocking to me," King Evander muttered with a stunned expression.

Emperor Rhex cleared his throat and said, "Since we no longer have to worry about transporting the fallen soldiers, a huge burden has been lifted from our army."

"We can now return home at any moment. However, where is Yuan and his group? Why can’t I see them anywhere?"

Upon hearing this, Nerith and Isolde immediately tried to sense their presence with their advanced senses, but they couldn’t find them anywhere within the campsite.

"They must have gone somewhere... I can’t sense their presence anywhere in the camp," Nerith replied after failing to locate them.

"Perhaps they went somewhere to clean themselves. Especially Yuan, his entire body was covered in monster blood."

Listening to Nerith’s explanation, Isolde nodded in agreement.

"They must have gone to the nearby river. We shouldn’t worry about them since they are quite powerful. They’ll definitely return once they finish their business."

"Well, if that is the case, then we shouldn’t worry about them." Emperor Rhex let out a small sigh before returning to the tent alongside the others.

Nerith and Isolde headed toward their own tent to change their gear, and they were also beginning to feel hungry since they hadn’t eaten anything since the war ended.

Yuan and the others landed near the river and checked the surrounding area for any monsters that might disturb their bath time.

Yuan cleared out all the monsters near the river without giving them any chance to escape, and after securing the area, he set up a concealment formation around the river.

Once the concealment formation was established, Yuan slowly began removing his clothes and wrapped a bath towel around his waist before taking off his pants.

Since this world had no concept of underwear, he naturally didn’t have any either. Besides, Long Yuyan, Miss Zara, and Little Zoe were all present.

There was no way he would completely strip naked in front of them.

"The temperature of the water is quite cold and refreshing..."

Yuan entered the water before everyone else and leaned against a large stone, allowing his body to sink into the refreshing water while feeling a deep sense of comfort after the intense battle.

One by one, the others also entered the river, each finding a comfortable spot to relax while soaking their tired bodies.

"Darling, what is your plan now that the war has ended?" Anna Grace asked a moment later.

Yuan looked up at the clear sky and fell silent for a moment, countless thoughts running through his mind. However, his main focus remained fixed on only one thing—to return to his previous world.

"There is only one thing left for us to do—the war against the self-proclaimed gods of the High Heaven," Yuan replied calmly, though his voice carried a faint murderous intent.

"Are you that desperate to return to the world where you lived your previous life?" Anna Grace asked with a soft chuckle.

"I’m not desperate, but excited... I want to show all of you the amazing things in that world. And also..." His voice suddenly trailed off as he let out a soft sigh.

Anna Grace immediately raised her eyebrows, and without hesitation, she moved closer and sat beside him.

"What is it? Why the long face all of a sudden?"

After taking a deep breath, Yuan finally spoke. "Well, there is someone to whom I made a promise back then... However, I couldn’t keep that promise."

"In fact, I didn’t even try to keep that promise before it became too late for me to fulfill it."

Yuan’s expression softened as a sense of guilt surfaced within him, an emotion he hadn’t felt in a very long time.

"And I regret it so much that I haven’t been able to tell anyone about it until now... I just hope I can meet that person once again when I return to my previous world and finally fulfill that promise."

"You will definitely fulfill whatever promise you made with this ’certain’ someone... I believe in you," Anna Grace said softly before gently hugging him, wrapping her slender arms around his neck.

"Thanks, Mom," Yuan responded gently before burying his face against her chest like a child seeking comfort.

A faint smile appeared on his lips as he felt an overwhelming sense of relief after finally letting out the guilt that had been trapped inside his heart for so long. He felt much lighter now.

"It doesn’t matter what kind of world it is, we will always stay by your side no matter what," she whispered into his ear, her voice gentle and soothing.

Some time later, they finished cleaning both their bodies and clothes.

With the help of Emma and the others, Anna Grace set up the cooking equipment by the riverside and began preparing something delicious for everyone to enjoy.

After all, they possessed a large amount of rare and exotic ingredients inside their spatial rings—so many that they could probably feed an entire city for several months.

After enjoying the meal prepared by Anna Grace, they all returned to the campsite. After all, they still had to take Nerith and Isolde with them.

When they arrived at the campsite, most of the tents were already being disassembled as the soldiers busily packed everything away.

Only the vampires’ tents remained intact, and every vampire was dressed in heavy and loose clothing that completely covered their bodies to block the sunlight from touching their skin.

If even the slightest bit of sunlight touched their skin, it would feel as though they were burning alive, and their flesh would immediately begin to melt.

Furthermore, their regenerative abilities would stop functioning in the affected area, making the pain several times worse than having their hands chopped off.

Yuan and his group landed near the spot where Nerith and Isolde were standing, causing both women to immediately turn their heads toward them.

"You guys are back. We’re ready to leave at any moment," Nerith said as she approached them with a smile.

"Thanks to the rings you gave us, we were able to finish everything this early. Otherwise, we would still be loading the dead bodies into the carts."

"Well, I didn’t expect you to use your spatial rings to carry dead bodies... but since it’s your choice, I’ll respect it," Yuan replied with a soft smile.

He then turned toward Isolde, who was standing directly under the sunlight, and a trace of concern appeared on his face.

"Isolde, are you fine under the sun? Are you feeling uncomfortable?"

"I’m fine. Thanks for worrying about me. I feel much more comfortable than before after becoming a cultivator. It seems my resistance has improved greatly," she replied with a smile, finding it surprising just how comfortable she felt beneath the sunlight.

In the past, she would feel nauseated just from standing under direct sunlight. However, now that she had become much stronger, she felt as though she wasn’t even standing under the sun at all.
