Chapter 467 A Strange Portal
Chapter 467 A Strange Portal
‘Strange, why am I getting a feeling that something is calling me? Is there someone trapped inside the formation?’ Yuan wondered, confusion written all over his face.
With a puzzled look, Yuan walked up to the formation and stretched his arm forward. As soon as his hand touched the formation, the area began to shake violently, panicking everyone at the scene.
“What is happening? Why is there an earthquake all of a sudden?!”
“Is there another group of monsters approaching us?”
People were shocked and began to scream, terrified about the possibility of another group of powerful monsters attacking them.
But suddenly, the formation began to glow with a bright golden light, attracting everyone’s attention toward the secret chamber. People stared at the secret chamber with dumbfounded looks on their faces.
“What the hell is happening? Why is there a golden light all of a sudden?” Archmage Isadora muttered in a dazed voice, seemingly shocked by the unexpected phenomenon.
“It seems that the invisible barrier is resonating with Yuan’s mysterious power, making the entrance to the secret chamber glow!” Archmage Eldrick exclaimed, looking at Yuan in disbelief.
He couldn’t sense any sort of mana from Yuan’s body, but he could feel the presence of a mysterious, profound power in the air.
The trembling of the ground became even more violent as the golden light grew more intense. With a rumbling sound, the earthquake slowly began to stop, and the golden light started to dim.
‘Is this it? Is this formation deactivating by itself? Or does the formation resonate with me?’ Yuan looked at the formation with a confused expression, wondering what was happening.
‘For a split moment, I felt a strange energy entering my body and exiting… Is it possible that the formation resonated with me? It could explain why I felt a familiar feeling from the formation,’ Yuan pondered deeply.
The formation glowed once again and shortly after, a small portal, big enough to fit an adult, appeared. Yuan felt a very familiar sensation emanating from inside the portal.
“What manner of portal is this? How come a portal appears here?” King Richard stared at the portal with wide-open eyes, seemingly in disbelief.
Not only he, but also the representatives from the other nations were dumbfounded by the sudden appearance of the portal. They all couldn’t help but wonder what could be behind it. Everyone was curious.
‘The familiar feeling is getting stronger since the portal opened. It seems the only way for me to find out what’s calling me is to enter the portal and see for myself,’ Yuan thought, a serious look on his face as he was quite curious about the sensation he was experiencing from the portal.
“Darling, is this the portal leading inside the secret chamber?” Grace stood beside Yuan, her gaze lingering on the portal.
“It appears so,” Yuan nodded. After glancing at everyone else who was eyeing the portal, Yuan looked at his wives. “I feel a strange sensation from the portal… It feels like someone or something is calling me from inside.”
“A strange feeling, you say? How weird.” Xi Meili mumbled as she couldn’t sense anyone’s presence from inside the portal.
Anna then looked at Xi Meili and asked, “Did you sense anyone inside?”
“Apparently, no. There is no one inside.” Xi Meili shook her head.
Lily then stepped forward and suggested, “Should we enter the portal and look inside? After all, we won’t know unless we enter it ourselves, right?”
“Let’s enter the portal then. I have a feeling that there is something very valuable inside the secret chamber,” Yuan said with an enthusiastic look on his face, not wanting to miss whatever was inside the secret chamber.
Upon hearing Yuan’s decision to enter the portal, Ava and Leah stepped forward and showed their concern.
“Are you sure it’s a good idea for us to enter the portal?” Ava asked, a very concerned look on her face.
Leah then added, “Indeed. What would happen if the portal closed or we got separated from each other? I don’t want to lose you, hubby…”
Yuan chuckled upon hearing this, approached the two with a smile on his face, and embraced them without caring about what others might think or if they were jealous of him.
“Don’t worry, I don’t think we will be separated from each other, nor will the portal close,” Yuan whispered into their ears. “And if that were to happen, I’ll find you guys immediately with my divine sense.”
Only then did Ava and Leah calm down and relax.
However, before Yuan and his wives could approach the portal, many hunters and warriors rushed towards it, hoping to get inside.
More than a hundred people gathered around the portal to explore the secret chamber. King Richard and representatives from other nations also moved towards the portal with anticipation and excitement.
“What the hell is with this portal?”
Suddenly, a loud shout resounded from very close to the portal, making everyone halt their movement and look at a man struggling to enter the portal, blocked by an invisible force.
“Why can’t I enter the portal? Why is it blocking me?” the man exclaimed with a furious look on his face.
Seeing this, other people also tried to enter the portal, but the same thing happened to all of them. No matter how hard they tried, they couldn’t enter the portal as an invisible force prevented them from entering each time.
“I also can’t enter the portal!”
“What the hell is happening?! Why can’t we get inside the portal?”
People were perplexed as they couldn’t enter the portal due to the interference of an invisible force blocking them.
“Everyone, clear the area. Archmage Isadora will examine the portal!”
Suddenly, King Richard’s loud and clear voice resounded throughout the area, making everyone step away from the portal immediately to let Archmage Isadora examine it.
“Thank you for cooperating, everyone.” Archmage Isadora smiled at the crowd, quickly retrieved her research equipment from her magic pouch, and began working on the portal.
‘Strange… why isn’t my equipment working? It even shows unusual readings that I’m not familiar with.’ Archmage Isadora repeatedly checked her equipment, trying to figure out what was happening.
She was puzzled; her equipment had never failed her before, except this time. She was very curious about the reason.
‘Wait a minute… don’t tell me this barrier runs on the same energy used by those spiritual beasts—it could explain why we can’t detect anything from the barrier.’ Archmage Isadora thought, wondering about the possibility.
Seeing that Archmage Isadora had started researching the portal, Rose hesitated but asked, “Should we interrupt their little ‘research’ on the portal that is supposed to lead us inside the secret chamber?”
“We can’t waste our time waiting for them to finish their research on the portal. What appears to them as the portal is, in fact, actually a doorway to the secret chamber,” Yuan said before walking toward the portal.
Suddenly, he halted his steps and looked at Valeria, Mireya, and Sylvia. “Sorry, but you three have to wait here. I don’t think you’ll be able to cross the portal with us.”
The three of them looked at Yuan with shocked expressions.
“And why is that?” Valeria raised her brows and inquired.
“As you can already see, none of them are able to step inside the portal…” Yuan shook his head and began to explain why they couldn’t enter the portal with them.
“Oh, I see… I guess we have no other choice but to wait for you guys to come out.” Valeria sighed, smiled at him, and didn’t ask to be brought along.
Mireya then suddenly hugged him and kissed him on the lips before saying, “Come out as quickly as possible, and don’t keep us waiting too long, okay?”
“Understood, my lady!” Yuan exclaimed with a smile and shared a quick, passionate kiss with her.
Yuan then looked at Anna and the others and said, “Let’s go. We can’t afford to waste any more time.”
“Lead the way, my darling,” Grace giggled softly, placing one finger on her lips.
Yuan nodded and approached the portal with a calm expression, exuding a profound aura that made him appear completely different from the rest. Not only him, but his wives also exuded the same presence, making everyone look at them in wonder.
“Hmmm?” King Richard noticed Yuan and his wives approaching the portal and raised his brows. “Yuan, do you perhaps know something about this portal?”
“Indeed. I know what kind of barrier this is and why it was placed here. Above all else, I also have some idea about this ruin,” Yuan replied with a smile.
“Ah, then would you mind sharing some of it with us as well? We’re very curious about how this barrier works.” King Richard was overjoyed upon hearing Yuan’s words. He never thought Yuan would have some idea about the barrier as well as the entire ruin. “We’re very curious as to why there is an invisible force blocking us from entering the portal. Please help us enter the portal, Yuan.”
“Sorry to disappoint you, King Richard, but mere mortals such as you can’t enter through that portal, so I can’t help you with that,” Yuan responded with a serious look before stepping closer to the portal, ready to enter.
King Richard and the representatives were shocked and confused after hearing this and looked at Yuan with puzzled expressions, wondering what he meant by calling them mere mortals.
“What do you mean by—” Before King Richard could finish his words, Yuan interrupted him.
“We don’t have time to explain everything to you,” Yuan said, then looked at his wives. “Let’s quickly enter the portal, everyone!”
