Chapter 392 Little Zoe Was Worried Sick
𝘪𝑎.𝒸𝘰?Yuan and his wives arrived at the Inn’s common area within a few minutes. Miss Zara was sitting at the reception table, as usual, looking troubled and deep in contemplation.
When Yuan and his wives arrived, she didn’t appear to notice them. Unlike Miss Zara, Little Zoe noticed their presence and smiled excitedly.
“Hi, Zoe. How are you today? Oh! Watering the plants?” Lily approached the little girl with a grin and drew her into a tight hug.
“Big Sister Lily!” The small girl exclaimed enthusiastically, wrapping her arms around her neck. “Finally, you guys came out of your room; you know how concerned Mom and I were when you locked yourself inside?”
“You have to apologize to Mom for making us anxious, or I will stop talking to you. Hmph!” Little Zoe snorted and looked away, and Lily couldn’t help but feel awful about worrying the little child and Miss Zara.
Yuan and the others gently giggled as they saw Zoe’s charming pout, prompting Little Zoe to scowl at them with an angry expression.
Yuan and his women, on the other hand, thought Zoe’s indignant expression was even cuter.
Miss Zara raised her head and looked at whoever was speaking to her daughter, and her countenance turned shocked.
“Yuan and Lily, when did you come out of your rooms? And, most importantly, are you all okay? “Is anyone feeling sick?” She queried in a concerned tone, then rose up from her seat and swiftly approached them.
Yuan and his wives were moved by Miss Zara’s concern for them, even though they had no blood ties.
Yuan and his wives’ regard for Miss Zara has grown significantly as a result of their genuine concern for them.
Do not be anxious about us, Miss Zara. We are all completely fine and healthy. Thank you for worrying about us, though.” Yuan promptly answered with a smile, expressing his gratitude for her.
“I see… I’m quite relieved to hear this.” Miss Zara let out a big sigh upon hearing this. “However, I think you all need to explain why you locked yourself inside your room and went two days without food or water.”
“As the owner of this Inn, I demand to know what you’ve been doing inside your room for the past two days; you haven’t even gone out for food or drink.” She said to them with a pout on her face, angry at them for making her so concerned about them.
Yuan smiled awkwardly at Miss Zara and added, “Well, we shouldn’t have had you so worried about us given how busy you are; we sincerely apologize for making you and little Zoe anxious about us.”
Yuan sincerely apologized to her, knowing full well that he had made a mistake by failing to inform her ahead of time.
“I want your explanation, not just an apology; I’ve already resolved it!” Miss Zara stared at him with a furious expression on her face, and Yuan felt a cold chill run down his spine.
Yuan took a deep breath and began narrating what he and his wives had been doing in his room for the past two days.
Miss Zara was amazed and shocked to find what Yuan and his wives had been doing in his room for two days without leaving, even to eat.
She also discovered that they went two days without food or drink, but they were completely healthy and lively. As if they could go days without food or drink, which she finds incomprehensible.
She glanced at Yuan with a serious expression on her face and remarked, “So you’re saying you spent two days cultivating in your room? And nothing else?”
“That’s correct, Miss Zara. We cultivate for two days without taking a break.” Yuan nodded.
“Unbelievable! How could someone go two days without food and water? It is impossible!” Miss Zara could not believe Yuan and his wives had spent two days farming without eating or drinking.
“Whether you believe that or not, Miss Zara, that’s the truth,” Yuan said with a smile.
They then spent a few more minutes talking with her, since Miss Zara was intrigued about cultivation and the distinctions between a cultivator, a mage, and a warrior.
She bombarded them with questions as payback for making her so frightened, and because Yuan and his wives couldn’t resist her request, they ended up giving her a brief explanation of cultivators.
“Since you haven’t eaten anything in two days, how about I make something nice for you all?” She knows Yuan and his women must be really hungry because they haven’t eaten anything in two days.
“That would be fantastic; I’m so hungry!” Xi Meili shouted joyfully, resting her gorgeous palm on her stomach and drooling on her cheeks.
Miss Zara grinned. “Then give me 20 minutes, and I’ll make something great.” She murmured this before stepping into the kitchen.
Yuan and his ladies then proceeded to the dining hall, where they discovered that numerous visitors were eating lunch, most of whom were hunters.
As soon as they arrived, they drew the attention of the attendees, regardless of gender; everyone couldn’t stop staring at the bunch.
While Yuan and his ladies waited for Miss Zara to deliver their food, they overheard the guests’ talks.
“Did you realize how many kings and honorable young masters arrived today?”
“Yeah, I heard it too. And I even observed some of them marching towards the Noble Realm in their luxurious carriages.”
“Not just them, but I noticed that many great magicians and warriors from royal families had gathered in this city to take part in tomorrow’s event.”
“Compared to what I’ve seen, those stories are insignificant. I saw the magnificent carriage of the Holy Son from the Holy Light Empire enter the city this morning, and many powerful mages and warriors are guarding it.”
“What!? “Is the Holy Son of the Holy Light Empire here?”
“Unbelievable! What is someone like him doing here?” .
“My guess is that the Holy Son would also attend this occasion.”
“It appears that the expedition mission issued by His Majesty The King will be really interesting; after all, we will get the opportunity to meet such wonderful people.”
“Truthfully spoken! I share the same sentiments, and I’m excited to meet those exceptional people!”
“I made a fantastic decision by participating in this event.”
The Holy Son of the Holy Light Empire appears to be highly capable, based on how the Hunters describe him. After all, if the Holy Son isn’t capable, he won’t be a Holy Son in the Holy Light Empire, where the Royal Family has absolutely no influence.
‘It appears that I must keep a watch on him, and if that Holy bastard has any ‘holy’ thoughts about my women, then…I shall be his worst nightmare.’ Yuan thought with a murderous look on his face, but his expression quickly returned to normal.
“It appears that tomorrow will be a really exciting day, is that correct, dear?” Anna questioned him, a sweet smile on her face as if she was looking forward to tomorrow’s event.
“Indeed. Tomorrow will be an amazing day,” Yuan said with a mysterious grin on his face. Grace noticed the expression and grinned.
Miss Zara and Little Zoe entered the dining hall with food in their hands, then proceeded to their table and set all of the plates on it.
“I apologize for keeping you guys waiting while you were famished; I took extra time to make all of those dishes because some of them required some time to be precisely cooked.” Miss Zara said, smiling.
“We don’t mind it at all. What matters most is that you prepared something truly tasty for us.” Anna replied with a small smile before biting into the dish, which was surprisingly tasty.
“Anna is correct, Miss Zara. You do not have to apologize to us.” Grace quickly spoke with her customary chilly tone and demeanor, making Miss Zara feel embarrassed.
‘Why is she so chilly, when Miss Ana appears so nice and friendly? Miss Grace seems to be the complete antithesis of Miss Anna.’ Miss Zara thought with an uneasy look on her face.
“So, please enjoy your meal while I deal with some vital task that requires my urgent attention.” Miss Zara explained before leaving them alone to eat their meal in peace.
Sometime later, two women dressed lavishly stopped in front of the inn and glanced at the building with anticipation on their faces.
The two of them are Mireya and her assistant Sylvia. Mireya smiled beautifully, and her eyes sparkled with delight as they met.
‘It appears that Madam Mireya has fallen in love with the human. However, I must say, that human is very attractive.’ Sylvia sighed quietly as she saw Mireya’s expression.
When Sylvia saw Mireya beaming like a girl in love in front of the building, she shook her head and asked, “My Lady, are you going to stand here and grin or enter?”
“Oh! Let’s go inside and update him on the current situation!” Mireya instantly regained consciousness and entered the building.
Upon entering, they observed Miss Zara doing some papers with a serious expression on her face and little Zoe playing with some wooden toys.
“Hi, Miss Zara. You appear to be pretty occupied with your work. I apologize for the interruption!” Mireya approached the reception table, prompting Miss Zara to look up and recognize the familiar voice.
“Oh! Welcome, Miss Mireya and Sylvia. And please do not apologize; it is only a minor issue that requires my attention.” Miss Zara swiftly placed the pen on the pen holder and greeted them with a friendly smile.
“Are you certain that it isn’t important, Miss Zara?” “No, it isn’t important at all.” Miss Zara denied it, telling her there was nothing to worry about because she was just making a small budget.
Then she grinned at them and added, “I promise you that you two are here for Yuan and his women, is that right?”
“As expected of Miss Zara, you’re quite bright and right on target,” Mireya grinned, taken aback by Miss Zara’s ability to read people’s intentions. “It’s just as you imagined; we’re here to meet them.”
