Chapter 245 Julie and Ava become cultivators
Chapter 245 Julie and Ava become cultivators
Yuan made his way back to his wives after ensuring that Ava and Julie had received the cultivation techniques they had been eagerly awaiting since becoming his women. Anna was diligently cooking, with Emma and Rose assisting her, while Lily tended to the rabbits roasting over the fire.
Anna glanced up, noticing Yuan’s return, as she continued to stir the pot. “Have you given them the cultivation techniques they wanted, dear?”
“Indeed,” Yuan affirmed with a smile. “They’ve already started learning the techniques, and they seem quite passionate about it.”
“That’s very promising. Their determination to become strong will shape them into formidable cultivators in the future,” Grace chimed in, her tone as cold and composed as ever.
She had high standards for those who sought to be part of Yuan’s circle, wanting only the strongest and most resolute individuals by his side.
Everyone present understood the wisdom behind Grace’s words and nodded in agreement. They were acutely aware of the significance of cultivation and the potential dangers that could arise from revealing their abilities to the world.
While Grace’s caution was valid, Yuan knew that each of his women possessed their own inner strength. Even his seemingly gentle and kind-hearted mother, Anna, had faced numerous challenges and emerged stronger after becoming a cultivator.
Before long, the meal was ready. Anna turned to Yuan and informed him, “Dear, dinner is served. Please go check on Julie and Ava. If they’re finished, bring them along for the meal.”
“In that case, you all can begin eating. I’ll go see how Julie and Ava are doing,” Yuan replied, rising from his seat and making his way toward the carriage where the two were immersed in their cultivation.
As he approached the carriage, Yuan sensed a surge of spiritual energy emanating from within. He wondered, ‘Such a powerful concentration of spiritual energy… Have they already begun cultivating? I’ll need to take a closer look.’
Yuan stepped into the carriage and found Julie and Ava sitting in the Lotus position, their eyes closed in deep concentration. Their breathing was steady and synchronized, indicating they were absorbing a substantial amount of spiritual energy.
‘I never expected them to grasp the cultivation techniques so quickly and start their cultivation already,’ Yuan marveled, his surprise evident in his expression. He sensed that they were on the verge of breaking through to the first level of the Spirit Apprentice realm.
‘Their comprehension abilities are exceptional, and they’re becoming increasingly adept at absorbing spiritual energy. They’re on the brink of a breakthrough,’ Yuan observed, watching them closely.
In a matter of minutes, Yuan sensed a shift in the spiritual energy within Julie and Ava. The air around them quivered momentarily before dispersing in all directions.
‘They’ve successfully made their first breakthrough and become Spirit Apprentices. Just as I expected from my wives—truly talented,’ Yuan thought, a proud smile playing on his lips.
Julie opened her eyes slowly, feeling a cool surge of energy course through her body. ‘Is this what it feels like to be a cultivator? I feel invigorated and powerful,’ she mused.
Ava shared a similar experience and looked to Julie, her expression a mixture of awe and uncertainty. “What do you think, Sister Julie? Are we now cultivators like our husband and the other sisters?”
“I suppose so… How else would you explain the sensation we just had?” Julie replied, her tone tinged with slight disbelief.
“You needn’t worry. I’m certain that you two have become Spirit Apprentices—specifically, first level Spirit Apprentices,” Yuan’s voice chimed in suddenly, drawing their attention. They turned to see him standing there with a reassuring smile.
“Really?” Julie exclaimed, her face lighting up with excitement.
Yuan nodded. “Indeed, I witnessed your breakthrough. You are now first level Spirit Apprentices.”
“Finally, finally we’re cultivators like all of you,” Julie murmured, her face radiant with joy. She felt an overwhelming sense of happiness knowing that she had joined the ranks of cultivators, no longer feeling like a burden to Yuan and his other wives.
“I’m so happy. Thank you, husband,” Ava chimed in, her smile beaming with cheerfulness.
“You’re my wives, there’s no need to thank me. I always want the best for all of you,” Yuan chuckled, pulling the two sisters into a warm embrace, holding them close.
After a minute, Yuan released Julie and Ava, suggesting, “Shall we return to everyone? The meal is ready and Mom has already started serving. If we linger here, the food will get cold and lose its flavor.”
“I’m starving after cultivating for the first time. Let’s go eat,” Julie agreed, playfully rubbing her flat stomach.
“Me too. I don’t know why, but I’m famished after becoming a cultivator,” Ava added with a grin.
They soon arrived at the bonfire, where Anna and the others noticed a change in Julie and Ava. They could sense the newfound spiritual energy within the sisters.
“Oh, Julie and Ava, congratulations on becoming cultivators like the rest of us. Now you can start getting stronger,” Anna congratulated them, genuinely happy for the two sisters.
“It’s all thanks to our husband, Mother-in-law Anna,” Julie replied, her smile showing her gratitude.
Anna nodded. “We’ll discuss this further later. For now, let’s enjoy our meal, shall we? We wouldn’t want our food to get cold, would we?”
“Indeed,” Ava agreed with a smile, eagerly digging into her food. After becoming cultivators, thoughts of proper table manners were momentarily forgotten.
Yuan chuckled to himself as he watched Ava. He too began heartily enjoying his meal.
Later, after they had finished eating, they settled inside the carriage to rest before sleep. Suddenly, Julie turned to Yuan.
“Hey, Yuan, now that we’re cultivators, when will you start teaching us combat techniques? We want to train and become stronger too.”
“Why are you in such a hurry to get stronger? Take it slow at first. You’ve just become cultivators,” Yuan advised, appreciating Julie’s determination to grow stronger but also cautioning against impatience.
Cultivation required time and patience, and rushing could weaken foundations or even potentially harm a cultivator.
Yuan gently caressed Julie’s cheeks and explained, “It’s important to increase your cultivation level a bit more before delving into martial techniques. These techniques require a specific cultivation realm to be learned safely, or they can be harmful to your foundation.”
Julie sighed with a tinge of disappointment, “I guess that’s a bit disappointing, but I understand the importance of a strong foundation. I’ll be patient and wait for the right time.”
Yuan chuckled and reassured them, “Patience is key. For now, let’s get some rest. We have a long journey ahead tomorrow.” He leaned in to give both of them a tender kiss.
He then proceeded to give each of his wives a loving kiss goodnight, before settling in for sleep.
The following day, they rose early, had breakfast, and promptly resumed their journey. They aimed to cover as much ground as possible before sunset.
—
Over the course of the next five days, Julie and Ava’s cultivation soared to the seventh level of Spirit Apprentice realm, an impressive feat considering they had been cultivating only during the night.
Rose also made significant progress, reaching the sixth level of Spirit Warrior realm. Her path required a substantial amount of Spiritual Energy for each breakthrough, in contrast to Julie and Ava who were still at the apprentice level.
Yuan also provided them with weapons of their choice. Rose received a Heaven-ranked Spear from an ancient treasury, Julie got a sword as a reward from the system, and Ava received a Heaven-ranked dagger, which she took a liking to.
Additionally, Yuan taught them martial techniques that matched their chosen weapons. He gave them each an Earth-ranked technique, as higher-ranked techniques would be too demanding given their current cultivation levels.
While they could potentially learn techniques of Heaven or even Divine rank, the effectiveness of these techniques would be limited by their current strength, and the high Qi consumption would allow for only a single use before exhaustion.
In the following days, their encounters with monsters were relatively sparse, and the creatures they did face were not particularly formidable.
Yuan saw this as an opportunity to further train Rose, Julie, and Ava, honing their combat skills. It was crucial for them to become proficient with their weapons and gain a deeper understanding of their martial techniques.
Despite the combat practice, Yuan didn’t earn any SP during this period.
As the horses steadily pulled the carriage, Yuan turned to his sister, Lily, and inquired, “How much longer until we reach Monbrook city, Big Sis Lily?”
After a brief pause, Lily calculated their progress.
“At this pace, we should arrive in about an hour or so. Once we cross over the mountain, we’ll have a clear view of the city. Monbrook is the second-largest city in the kingdom, bustling with people from all over seeking employment. It’s a vibrant place, just after the capital.”
Yuan absorbed her information and began to outline their plan. “Upon entering the city, our first stop will be the hunter association. There, we can sell the monster materials we’ve gathered. I’m certain they’ll fetch a high price. Additionally, we’ll inquire about collecting the bounty for the bandits we took care of.”
Lily nodded in agreement, showing her approval. “Your plan sounds solid, Yuan. Let’s proceed as you’ve outlined.”
