My Cat Turned Beastman Won't Stop Kissing My Neck

Chapter 42: A Truly Harmonious Cat and Bird

Wen Qian felt Gu Mian must have been infected by Yin Zhi; he was starting to say whatever he wanted. Fearing that Yin Zhi might suddenly pop out from behind them, Wen Qian quickly pulled the man aside.

"What is it?" The man raised an eyebrow, his voice mild.

"It’s, it’s nothing." Wen Qian subtly pulled her hand from the man’s palm, then glanced guiltily in Yin Zhi’s direction.

’She couldn’t just tell him she was worried the sensitive little tiger would suddenly appear and have a meltdown.’

Staring at his empty palm, the smile in Gu Mian’s eyes gradually faded. Wen Qian cared a great deal about Yin Zhi’s feelings, but the extent of her concern displeased him.

He followed her gaze and said softly, "Qianqian cares about him a lot."

"Huh?" Wen Qian was taken aback for a moment, then nodded immediately after understanding. Before Gu Mian could react, she added in a clear voice, "You saw it last time. That guy is so childish. I was afraid he’d cause a scene at the hospital."

With his looks, he stood out anywhere. If someone were to take his picture, Wen Qian worried it would arouse suspicion.

She believed there were still many Beastmen in City A, but they all hid among the crowds, not daring to let humans find them.

"That’s not what I meant." Gu Mian frowned.

Just as he was about to speak, Wen Qian cut him off. She waved her hand vigorously toward a distant spot. "Over here!"

Immediately, a figure darted over and planted himself between her and Gu Mian.

A clear glint of coldness flashed in Gu Mian’s eyes. He was starting to find this guy rather annoying.

At the same time, Yin Zhi felt the exact same way. He shot Gu Mian a cool glance, then huffed softly and turned his head away.

"The doctor said it’s nothing serious. I just need to rest for a few days." He lowered his gaze slightly, his eyes landing on the girl’s face as a smile returned to his own.

When he spoke to Wen Qian, his ears would twitch subconsciously, as if he was overjoyed.

Wen Qian, terrified he would get too excited and reveal his beast ears, quickly urged in a low voice, "Then let’s head back first."

...

The three of them drove back to Wen Qian’s residential complex.

The security guard at the gate had clearly become familiar with Gu Mian’s car, letting them pass with just a glance.

Ling Xuan had been playing with the Yellow-tailed Robin on the balcony all afternoon. The cat and the bird, hopping and skipping, looked perfectly harmonious.

The silvery-white "little cat" would occasionally flick his tail at the Yellow-tailed Robin. Once the bird’s little wings had a firm grip on his tail, he would lift it high into the air.

The Yellow-tailed Robin was having a great time. During breaks, it would even take the initiative to preen the fur on Ling Xuan’s head, nestling there and listening to his contented purrs.

The cat and bird were perfectly content, until familiar footsteps sounded from outside the door, and Ling Xuan’s ears suddenly twitched.

Recalling Yin Zhi’s reaction the last time Wen Qian had praised him, he immediately scooped the Yellow-tailed Robin up in his mouth. Leaping onto the table, Ling Xuan placed the bird back in its box, not forgetting to cover it with a small blanket before leaving.

Although the Young Master had said there was no need to take special care of the Yellow-tailed Robin, his responsible and meticulous nature made him subconsciously want to do a perfect job.

’Besides... if the Yellow-tailed Robin is doing well, Wen Qian will be happy. And if Wen Qian is happy, the Young Master will naturally be happy too.’

’If the Young Master is happy, that means I’ve completed my mission well.’

With this thought, Ling Xuan swished his tail and smugly leaped off the balcony.

CLICK—

At the same time, the sound of the door opening was heard.

One woman and two men entered the room in succession.

Upon entering, Wen Qian went straight for the Yellow-tailed Robin. She carefully lifted the small blanket covering it and couldn’t help but find its dazed expression amusing.

Picking it up and cradling it in her hands, Wen Qian carefully examined the Yellow-tailed Robin’s wings. At the same time, the Yellow-tailed Robin tilted its head to look at her, its round little eyes blinking.

"Looks like it’s in good shape." A lovely smile graced her lips as Wen Qian carefully placed the Yellow-tailed Robin back on the table.

Just then, Gu Mian walked over. He stopped beside Wen Qian, his slender, well-defined fingers ruffling the top of her head. "Mm, it should be able to shapeshift now."

"Shapeshift?" Wen Qian blinked. She turned to look at the Yellow-tailed Robin and saw it nod obediently. A look of delighted surprise flashed across her face. "Wait a minute!"

Under Yin Zhi’s confused gaze, the girl grabbed his hand and made a beeline for the bedroom.

Although he didn’t know what Wen Qian wanted to do, Yin Zhi’s lips still curled into a smile at her action.

Once they were in the bedroom, the man wrapped his arms around her waist like a pouting child and nuzzled his nose firmly against her earlobe twice.

A barely perceptible hint of smugness appeared in the man’s eyes. ’Gu Mian must be fuming right now,’ he thought.

However, that smile didn’t last long. The girl’s next words made Yin Zhi’s expression freeze.

"Yin Zhi, can I borrow a set of clothes?" The Yellow-tailed Robin was about to shapeshift, and he would definitely be naked afterward.

Wen Qian thought that since both Yin Zhi and Gu Mian were so tall, if the Yellow-tailed Robin turned out to be the same, her own clothes definitely wouldn’t fit.

He had thought Wen Qian pulling him into the room was a sign of special affection, but it turned out to be for that damn bird. Yin Zhi’s face instantly fell.

He didn’t speak, just stared quietly at Wen Qian, his gaze a silent accusation.

His stare made Wen Qian feel a little guilty. After all, they were Yin Zhi’s clothes; if he didn’t agree, she couldn’t force him.

Ever considerate of Yin Zhi’s feelings, Wen Qian reached out and pinched his cheek. Her tone was gentle. "It’s okay, it’s okay. If you don’t want to, I’ll just let him wear my clothes for now."

"No!" His eyes instantly widened as the man objected sharply.

Without another word, he pulled Wen Qian behind him and picked out a set of clothes he rarely wore from the closet for her.

Then he pouted and said, "Only one set."

Not expecting him to relent so quickly, Wen Qian immediately nodded. "Our Yin Zhi is the best!"

"Also, you’re not allowed to buy him new clothes..." He grabbed her before she could turn away. After a pause, Yin Zhi added, "I’ll have Ling Xuan prepare some for him."

"Who’s Ling Xuan?" Wen Qian was a bit baffled.

"He’s the one from last time... the one you thought was a silver gradient cat," Yin Zhi said sullenly. He was already used to the nicknames Wen Qian gave them.

"And also..." He again rested his chin on her shoulder, cajoling her. Yin Zhi whispered, "Call me A Zhi, okay?"

’The little female already calls Gu Mian ’A Mian.’ I have to make her call me ’A Zhi’ too. He wasn’t stupid; he knew nicknames were one way to get closer to someone.’

"Alright, alright, whatever you say." Ruffling his hair, Wen Qian subtly pushed his head away. Then, under the man’s reproachful gaze, she quickly left the bedroom.

Gu Mian raised an eyebrow as he watched the girl emerge with the clothes.

He knew it.

The little tiger, already in a bad mood, saw Gu Mian’s I’m-just-enjoying-the-show expression and subconsciously wanted to hiss at him. But halfway through opening his mouth, he remembered he was in human form and irritably snapped it shut.
