My Cat Turned Beastman Won't Stop Kissing My Neck
Chapter 161: May I Kiss You?
This was his new silk shirt, after all. It couldn’t get wrinkled.
Chi Li looked to the heavens, speechless. He couldn’t be bothered to argue anymore. Before leaving, he made sure to instruct the guards to never let that woman from earlier in again. Due to her status, Chi Heng might not do anything to Xi Zhen unless she did something truly outrageous, but as for Chi Li himself... he couldn’t make the same promise.
...
After dinner, Chi Heng brought Wen Qian to a hidden corner of the old castle.
When she saw the bronze-colored metal elevator, a surprised look appeared on Wen Qian’s face. She had assumed a place like an old castle would only have wooden staircases.
The metal doors were shut tight. Chi Heng casually reached out and touched the cold, rough metal surface. A moment later, a pale blue indicator light flickered, followed by a dull CLICK.
"I’m taking you somewhere," the man said, turning his head to smile at her, his eyes full of tenderness.
Only when he was with Wen Qian did Chi Heng ever show such an expression. From a very young age, his family had warned him that as the successor to the Wolf King, he had to learn to hide his emotions and act like a proper Wolf Beastman.
So, even though he hated it, the years of pressure had turned him into the very person he despised.
Wen Qian followed Chi Heng into the elevator. A moment later, the CREAK of turning gears sounded out. The elevator slowly ascended, and as the doors opened, a gust of crisp, cool air washed over them.
The two of them stepped onto the rooftop side by side. The moment she looked up at the sky, Wen Qian was lost in a daze.
Unlike on Blue Star, the sky above her head twinkled with incredibly brilliant stars.
These weren’t distant, faint specks of light. They were huge and bright, each one radiating its own unique glow, weaving together to form a magnificent and extraordinary tapestry across the heavens.
Wen Qian gazed for a long while before tearing her eyes away. She saw that in the forest below, all sorts of plants were displaying strange and wonderful colors in the darkness of the night.
Chi Heng produced a telescope from somewhere. He braced one hand on the railing in front of her and held the telescope to her eye with the other. Following Chi Heng’s guidance, Wen Qian peered through the lens, her face immediately lighting up with a mixture of shock and delight.
She saw that the tall trees were covered in glowing patterns, which shimmered with a soft blue light in the darkness.
Beneath the trees, huge mushrooms held up their caps, their spots like constellations in the night sky, swaying gently with the breeze. Even the vines were hung with clusters of crystal-clear fruits that glowed with a warm orange light, like lanterns illuminating a small patch of the forest.
Wen Qian watched quietly, even spotting Elves with fluttering wings and insects dancing gracefully around the fruit.
’So this is how beautiful the nights are in the Beast World.’ Every corner was filled with mystery and surprise, completely captivating.
Just a moment ago, Wen Qian had been wondering why she had come to the Beast World... but now, she suddenly didn’t want to dwell on it anymore. Whatever the reason, she was at least satisfied with the result.
Although Blue Star had incredibly advanced technology, after experiencing a catastrophe, what she longed for most was peace and nature.
"Do you like it here?" the man’s voice was deep. This was his favorite place to come.
Wen Qian nodded emphatically, grabbing the man’s firm arm with both hands as she observed everything with even greater focus.
After some time, the woman suddenly let out a cry of surprise. "Wow, what are those moving red dots... What is that?"
Chi Heng froze for a second, then leaned down to follow her gaze. In the depths of the forest, countless red dots of light were zipping about... He frowned imperceptibly and said hesitantly, "Those are Beastmen, in their beast forms... They’re similar to bats on Blue Star."
Wen Qian’s expression faltered. She then asked in confusion, "They’re red?"
Chi Heng didn’t answer right away. After hesitating for a moment, he explained softly, "What you’re seeing are their eyes..."
"..."
Goosebumps instantly erupted on her arms. Wen Qian shuddered and quickly looked away. She didn’t have anything against bats, but she was terrified of red eyes. It reminded her of scenes from horror movies.
After watching for a little longer, Chi Heng led Wen Qian to a nearby swing and they sat down. They sat close together, quietly admiring the distant scenery.
Under the moonlight, the edges of the trees glowed with a faint, cool light, casting long shadows like loyal sentinels silently guarding this tranquil place.
Wen Qian leaned against the man’s chest, enveloped in his scent. Her gaze was serene, but the corners of her lips were curved in a happy smile.
She gazed at it all, mesmerized, feeling the quiet, dreamlike atmosphere. For a moment, she even thought that in the next second she would dissolve into the air, becoming a warm breeze, or a soft ray of moonlight... becoming a part of this place.
The long-lost feeling of complete relaxation filled Wen Qian with joy. Chi Heng could tell that she truly loved it here.
The gentle summer night’s breeze softly caressed the woman’s face, bringing a rare touch of coolness.
The moonlight quietly fell upon her face, outlining a soft silhouette.
Wen Qian subconsciously turned her head to look at Chi Heng, only to see him quietly gazing back at her.
The man’s eyes seemed to soften in the moonlight, like a clear lake with ripples on its surface. Wen Qian stared, captivated. After a moment, her gaze slowly drifted down, tracing over his high-bridged nose and well-defined lips.
At some point, a THUMP-THUMP sound reached her ears. Wen Qian froze for a second before realizing the source... It was her own heartbeat.
The man and woman’s gazes met mid-air, and in that instant, time seemed to stand still. Wen Qian suddenly remembered the unfinished kiss in her room. With a surge of courage from who-knows-where, she narrowed her eyes, raised her hands, and gently tugged on the man’s collar... easily pulling him closer.
Licking her dry lips, Wen Qian uttered a sentence that shocked even herself: "Can I kiss you?"
The man’s eyes darkened, and the next second, he raised a hand to cup the back of Wen Qian’s neck.
The soft, warm touch was both strange and familiar. Wen Qian threw herself into it, and the moment he held her waist, she quietly savored the tingling sensation, like an electric current running through her body.
His kissing technique wasn’t skilled. It carried the wildness of the Wolf Clan—heavy and urgent. But Wen Qian still enjoyed it. She began to wonder about their past together, wondering if many of their moments had been just like this... innocent and sweet.
"Hey, I told you they were..."
As the elevator dinged, a loud male voice rang out. But the next second, the voice vanished without a trace, as if it had been equipped with a silencer.
"Why are you just standing there like an..."
Chi Shang’s voice also cut off abruptly. He then reached out, yanked Chi Li back into the elevator, and frantically mashed the "down" button.
Wen Qian had already opened her eyes. She flusteredly sat up straight and stole a glance at Chi Heng, seeing the lingering blush still on his face.
