My Cat Turned Beastman Won't Stop Kissing My Neck
Chapter 143: The Lost Little Fox
"Get off..." Wen Qian tried to shake her arm free.
She couldn’t.
"No!" the Little Fox said, sweeping his wagging tail against her.
The fluffy fox fur was warm and comfortable as it brushed against her, and Wen Qian subconsciously narrowed her eyes. Before she could even react, she was pulled into an embrace by the now-human Qi Ke.
Her face instantly flushed red. He didn’t even give her time to get angry before he reached back and switched off the bedside lamp.
The boy looked obedient, but he was actually quite rebellious. When Wen Qian pushed him, he only held her tighter, eventually even wrapping his tail snugly around her.
Enveloped in the boy’s warmth, Wen Qian soon felt drowsy. She closed her eyes... and quickly fell asleep.
Moonlight slipped through a gap in the curtains, gently spilling into the quiet room. The boy held the woman tightly in his arms, painting a serene and beautiful picture.
A figure silently approached the half-open door. His movements were so gentle they made almost no sound, but the man on the bed still detected him.
His ears twitched almost imperceptibly, and a pair of long, narrow eyes glinted in the darkness. His tail tightened its grip slightly, and the woman in his arms let out a soft whimper. Qi Ke immediately loosened his hold, his eyes softening once more.
The door slowly opened. A faint CREAK rippled through the silence, only to be swiftly swallowed by the quiet.
Chi Heng, as if used to this, walked into the room with unerring accuracy. His deep-set eyes shone with a wise light in the darkness.
He climbed onto the bed, light and swift. A faint gust of wind stirred behind him, and before Wen Qian could notice, he had deftly slipped under the covers.
He skillfully covered her feet with his tail, the wolf pressing close against the woman’s long, fair legs. The fluffiness and soft texture of his tail made the sleeping woman’s brow smooth out, and she sank back into a deep slumber.
’It felt so good to sleep, but waking up was a total nightmare.’
What started as one fox had turned into one wolf and one fox, and Wen Qian was completely dumbfounded.
’But to be fair, she had slept incredibly well...’
She didn’t have the heart to scold them, so she just told the two of them not to come to her room at night anymore.
Chi Heng, in his wolf form, tilted his head and played dumb. Unable to speak like the fox, he just let out a low "AWOO."
The Little Fox, on the other hand, could speak, but he chose to be selectively mute in this situation. His tail kept trying to burrow into Wen Qian’s arms, clearly determined to play dumb to the very end.
’Fine, just fine. You’re all just wonderful...’
Wen Qian gritted her teeth, wishing she could slap them both.
For the past few days, the Little Fox had been stuck to Wen Qian like glue. Chi Heng was right there with him, neither giving an inch. Both of them planned to grind for affection points with Wen Qian before Yin Zhi returned.
The Little Fox even began making heartfelt confessions, saying he was willing to do anything for Wen Qian.
Wen Qian just sneered. "Then you can start by getting out of my room."
"Can’t do that," the Little Fox refused.
Wen Qian smiled. The Little Fox played dumb. Chi Heng lay at her feet watching the drama unfold, his ears twitching.
Although Shen Mqing didn’t get involved in this "dispute," he was enjoying the show from the sidelines.
He didn’t want the Tiger Clan to be outdone by the Fox Clan, but after spending these last few days together, he was actually quite happy to see Yin Zhi suffer a setback.
’Besides, it’s not like the Young Master only has one rival for his affection. What’s one more or one less... It doesn’t really matter, does it?’
As usual, he followed the Young Master’s instructions, warming up some milk for Wen Qian and reminding her to check her phone and reply to the Young Master’s message.
Otherwise, that Mad Lord would start "harassing" him again.
’God knows how infuriating it is to get a call from him in the middle of a game...’
Meanwhile, the Little Fox was still bickering with Wen Qian. He stared with wide, moist eyes and said in disbelief, "Do you have any idea what you just said?"
"That’s right, you heard me. I’ve decided to turn over a new leaf and be faithful to one person..." Wen Qian said while sipping her milk, trying to move him with her most sincere gaze.
"You already have two Beastmen and now you’re telling me you’re going to be faithful to one?!" the Little Fox seethed. "And... why aren’t you ’turning over a new leaf’ on them? You’re just picking on me, aren’t you?"
’Don’t even think about it!’
"Well, that’s none of your business..." Wen Qian retorted petulantly.
’This fox was clearly not one to be trifled with. He was clinging to her every day, and Wen Qian was finding it a bit overwhelming.’
’Most importantly, he was just too good-looking, and his physique was incredible. With him climbing into her bed every night, she was genuinely afraid she’d lose control...’
She had only meant to find a casual excuse to get him to back off, but who knew it would set him off like this.
His fox ears and tail drooped in unison, and his wide, round eyes welled up with unshed tears. He said nothing, just stared fixedly at Wen Qian, his aggrieved expression a silent accusation.
’If he had just argued back, she wouldn’t feel so guilty, but now... She’d probably wake up in the middle of the night wanting to slap herself, wouldn’t she?’
’How could she bear to make such a beautiful person cry... She was a monster!’
’But she had to admit, the Little Fox with his red-rimmed eyes was actually kind of... hot.’
"You were the one who said you’d take me in..." Teardrops clung to his eyelashes, but the damn tears just kept welling in his eyes, refusing to fall.
Watching him, Wen Qian felt both guilty and heartbroken. She suddenly remembered that a single sentence from her had made the Little Fox wait for ten years... Her gaze began to shift away.
Kneeling on the bed, he braced his hands on either side of her body. The boy lowered his head, looking as if he might shatter at any moment.
After a long moment, he stubbornly lifted his head and forced a smile, but the redness of his eyes betrayed his vulnerability.
"I get it. I’m not good enough..."
His long, pale fingers trembled as he fumbled with the buttons on his shirt, unable to fasten them properly.
"Don’t be ridiculous. You’re so handsome, how could you not be good enough?" ’Does he have some kind of misconception about his own looks and physique?’
"Even someone as wonderful as Qianqian doesn’t want me, so it must be because I’m not good enough. If I hadn’t waited like an idiot for the past ten years, if I’d just tried a little harder... I wouldn’t have ended up like this," the boy said, his voice choked with sobs.
The mention of ten years made Wen Qian’s heart ache.
’Forget ten years, if someone made her wait ten minutes she’d want to cut them out of her life. This fox really was an idiot.’
’And what was he doing now... Guilt-tripping himself?’
She reached out to touch the Little Fox’s face, but he stubbornly pulled away. As he moved, a tear fell, landing right on the back of her hand. Wen Qian froze for a second, then reached out with both hands to cup his face.
"I was just joking, I’m sorry... I won’t make jokes like that again," Wen Qian said, her voice softening.
"Don’t comfort me, Qianqian. I know... I’m just a fox that nobody wants." The Little Fox’s expression grew dim. After a moment, he added in a low voice, "I’m used to it."
"I told you I was joking! How could I ever not want you!" Wen Qian pulled him into a tight hug, not giving him a chance to spout any more nonsense.
