I was burdened by their expectations

“I will also do what I can to help! You too, Lyra.”

“Yes. If Mr. Takumi can really do it…it would help so many women. I’m sure that the other servants and employees will wish to help too.”

“I think you’re exaggerating now…”

“Mr. Takumi made herbs to help with tiredness. I am sure he will succeed. I will be at your service as well. And you can use His Excellency too, if you like.”

Said Ms. Lugretta.

“Uh, I don’t know about… Well, perhaps his help would be useful.”

“Yes, you can do with him as you like!”

It seemed a strange way to talk about someone you worked for who you also liked… But having his cooperation seemed like a good idea. And so I accepted.

While Mr. Euto had lived an unfathomable amount of time in this world, he still had vague memories about Japan.

Though, it seemed like it was talking to me that made him nostalgic and remember some things.

In that case, perhaps he could give me some good advice on how to gather the Camellia oil.

Claire was in a very good mood. She looked like she was about to burst out into song.

And she had been sleeping just a moment ago…

And so I spend the time looking out of the window, occasionally muttering in reply.

I could not wait until the next break for lunch. And it wasn’t because I was hungry…

After we ate lunch and rested, we continued on our journey to Range Village.

Once we were only an hour away, we stopped and set up camp. After eating dinner, I finished my training.

With nothing left to do, it was time to sleep, but…

“…I can’t sleep.”

Even though I had stayed up late talking with the other men, I had taken naps during the day, and so even when I crawled into my sleeping bag and closed my eyes, I could not sleep.

And so I walked out of my tent and sat down next to Leo, who was curled up nearby.

“Wuff?”

“Sorry, Leo. Are you sleepy?”

“Wou-wuff.”

Leo tilted her head as I leaned against her. She said that she wasn’t sleepy, but could sleep if she wanted to.

“Mind if I rest here for a while?”

“Wou.”

“Thank you.”

Leo used to be the one to lean against me. And I would pick her up.

Still, I had never had trouble sleeping before. Why was today so different? It was strange.

Since coming to this world, I have been very healthy, and never had to worry about such things.

Well, I didn’t worry about that in the other world either. Though, it was probably because I was so busy that I couldn’t stay awake even if I tried…
