Chapter 424: Preparation of original races
Chapter 424: Preparation of original races
Ethan stepped through the crowd, which parted like the Red Sea. He walked straight toward Rose and her sister. His aura was no longer violent, it was gentle like a breeze.
“I’ll be leaving now,” Ethan said, his voice smooth and devoid of the coldness he had shown the dragons.
He looked at Rose, a soft, enigmatic smile playing on his lips.
“Lady Zara, visit my tower tomorrow. I have something special for you.”
He didn’t wait for a reply. He gave a polite nod to the others and, with a subtle shimmer in the air, he vanished.
Ethan knew that the announcement of the Bloodline Refining Technique was a stone thrown into a quiet pond.
The ripples would turn into a tsunami.
The next auction wouldn’t just attract local lords. It would bring the Source Authority beings, the true monsters of the world who had lived since the dawn of time.
He needed to return to his tower.
To face such beings, he couldn’t rely on mere tricks.
He needed to create something absolute.
Even if the Source Authorities didn’t come to this auction, he would make the prizes so legendary that they would have no choice but to crawl to his doorstep for the next one.
After Ethan left, the frozen tension finally snapped.
Zara was the first to gasp for air, her face flushed with excitement.
“He is so cool, right?” she asked, looking at her family.
Erina nodded her head like a chicken.
“Humm humm! He is the coolest person I’ve ever seen. Did you see how he didn’t even blink when that dragon exploded?”
However, Anna and Elina remained silent.
They were staring at the spot where Ethan had vanished.
They felt a strange, lingering sensation in their chests, a mixture of awe, fear, and something deeper they couldn’t quite name.
It was a motherly instinct but they couldn’t validate the reason for their feelings.
Rose stood quietly, her hand unconsciously touching the spot on her side where Zara had poked her.
“Zara, you should visit the tower tomorrow,” Rose muttered, her voice was low.
“Don’t be late. I am sure you will get something priceless just by being near him.”
“Sis, are you that positive about him?” Zara asked, her eyes twinkling with mischief.
“Do you like him? Is our Ice Saintess finally falling for a demon?”
“Don’t talk nonsense, little brat,” Rose scolded.
Though the slight tremor in her voice betrayed her.
She turned to leave the venue, her mind racing with the implications of the new auction.
Before she could reach the exit, the Lightning Dragon elders blocked her path.
Their faces were no longer arrogant.
They were full of desperate greed masked as politeness.
“We congratulate Lady Rose for becoming the Leading Saintess,” one of the Eternal Sovereigns said with a wide smile.
“But the world is a dangerous place. Would you like to become a part of our Lightning Dragon race?”
“We offer you a seat as the next Line Empress. All our resources would be yours.”
Before Rose could even open her mouth, Melida stepped forward like a protective mother hen.
Her icy aura flaring.
“Do you want to declare war against our Ice Dragon race?” Melida hissed.
“Then bring it on. We are not afraid of a fight if you try to poach our Saintess.”
“She is right,” a new, booming voice echoed through the hall.
“We will declare war against you if you dare to say such things again.”
A middle-aged man with flowing silver hair and eyes like frozen diamonds appeared beside Melida.
This was Mr. Harrow, a powerful elder of the Ice Dragon race.
“Ah! Don’t be like that, Mr. Harrow,” the Lightning Dragon elder laughed.
Not flinching at the threat.
“Do you want to keep all the benefits for yourself? We all saw how Mr. Hunt looks at her.”
“Hahaha, it’s our luck that he does,” Mr. Harrow laughed loudly.
His voice filled with pride.
“Then how about some marriages between our younger generations?” the Lightning elder suggested.
“It would strengthen both our houses.”
Mr. Harrow calmed down and analyzed the offer.
“Why would we do that? It is clearly disadvantageous to us.”
“Such unions usually create impure bloodlines.”
“Statistics show there is only a 0.1% chance that a twin-pure bloodline holder might appear from such a mix.”
“We are not dependent on you.”
The Lightning elder leaned in, his voice dropping to a whisper.
“If you agree, we will open the Lightning Valley to the Ice Dragon elites for training.”
Mr. Harrow’s eyes narrowed instantly.
The Lightning Valley was a legendary site containing seven types of Primordial Lightning.
It was the secret behind the Lightning Dragons’ legendary physical durability.
“Are you sure?” Mr. Harrow asked seriously.
“Yes,” the elder nodded.
“Okay, let me discuss this with the others,” Harrow said.
He then turned to Rose, bowing politely, a gesture usually reserved only for the Emperor.
“Saintess, the Emperor has sent word. You may use all royal resources freely for your family.”
“From today, I will be your personal guard alongside Melida.”
He knew the truth.
Rose was the bridge to Ethan Hunt.
And that bridge was worth more than the entire empire.
The news of Ethan Hunt didn’t just stay in the Dragon World.
It tore through the fabric of the universe.
In the Origin Demon World:
A grand meeting was held in a cathedral made of obsidian.
Five Source Authority Progenitors sat on high thrones.
“The demon named Ethan Hunt… he is suspected to be an Origin Demon,” one Progenitor rumbled.
“Which family does he belong to?”
“Sir,” an Eternal Sovereign demon replied, trembling.
“We have checked every high-born family. He is not on our records.”
“Only ’that’ forbidden region remains unsearched.”
“We are forbidden to enter the Land of the Ancients.”
“It is possible,” the Progenitor mused.
“Lucifer went to the dragon world to find info but hasn’t reported back.”
“Only that clan has the power to produce god-level serums.”
“Gather our wealth. We will join the auction.”
“We must know his face.”
In the World of the Genesis Vampires:
The atmosphere was cold.
“Sir, our funds are ready. When do we leave?” the emperor asked.
The Vampire Progenitor sat in the dark, sipping crimson liquid.
“Tomorrow.”
“Arrange 5 trillion more.”
“I want to make sure that refining technique falls directly to us.”
“If we can turn our thralls into pure-blooded vampires, we will rule the night forever.”
In the Primordial Phoenix World:
A woman of radiant beauty stood amidst a garden of eternal flames.
“Your Majesty, we have gathered enough Nirvana Fluid and liquid money for the bid.”
“Very well,” the Phoenix Progenitor said.
A mysterious smile gracing her lips.
“We leave today.”
“I want to meet this ’mysterious demon’ who thinks he can rewrite the laws of blood.”
“Either he is a fool, or he is the new master of this era.”
Around fifty original races living near the Dragon World learned of the upcoming auction.
A history-defining moment was about to be born, and every one of them wanted to be the one who carved their name into it by obtaining that technique.
But not all of them intended to compete openly.
Some were already sharpening their knives in the shadows, ready to strike from behind.
They did not want to pay a price.
They wanted to seize the technique, claim the future, and become the masters of a new era without spending a single coin.
