My Arts Evolve When Perfected

Chapter 583: Entering the Beimu Mountain Range

  • Next Chapter

Traveling north from the middle of the Primitive Ancient Forest, Jiang Qiu and his party quickly traversed its entirety. Compared to their last journey, their Realms had all risen significantly, so they no longer needed to bide their time.

Indeed, this was primarily because their mount, Ah Xiong, had advanced to the Perfect Transformation Realm. She was now just a hair’s breadth away from the realm above—the Super True Dominator level. This evolution granted her an unparalleled burst of speed, allowing her to carry One-tailed and Jiang Qiu swiftly through the Primitive Ancient Forest.

Moreover, when they first headed north from the Golden Eagle Ancestor’s domain, their route only took them past Celestial Wolf City—now called Nine-tailed Fox City. They didn’t need to take any long detours, simply cutting straight through the northern outskirts of the Primitive Ancient Forest and emerging swiftly.

The moment they walked out of the Primitive Ancient Forest, a continuous range of towering mountains blocked their path. Before them lay a boundless sea of peaks. The closest mountains jutted abruptly from the earth, as if the ground itself had suddenly surged upward. These peaks formed a natural barrier, walling off the entire Primitive Ancient Forest.

Leaving the Primitive Ancient Forest, they were met with mountains that touched the sky, with no end in sight. They looked more like a single colossal cliff face than a range of peaks; even the clouds above them were hard to distinguish.

Back in the Primitive Ancient Forest, all manner of ancient trees had blocked their view—trees hundreds of feet tall that could blot out the sky. But here, against these massive mountains, those same trees were like fur on a bull’s back, utterly insignificant. Thousand-foot-tall primeval trees seemed as fine as peach fuzz. This was a testament to the sheer majesty of the mountains, leaving even the well-traveled Jiang Qiu momentarily stunned.

He held a map given to him by the Celestial Wolf Ancestor, which charted a course north from the Primitive Ancient Forest. If he wasn’t mistaken, this vast mountain range before him was the Beimu Mountain Range. It spanned an unknown number of thousands of kilometers, effectively slicing across and cutting off the entire northern part of the Primitive Ancient Forest.

No one knew the true width of the Beimu Mountain Range. Most members of the Demon Race who wanted to travel north from the Primitive Ancient Forest had to take an incredibly long detour. This natural deathtrap had impeded the journeys of countless travelers.

Tai Lake was situated north of the Beimu Mountain Range. It was a boundless lake, so vast it was said you could fit the heavens and the earth inside it. It was truly enormous.

Unfortunately, they needed to cross through the Beimu Mountain Range. Jiang Qiu frowned. ‘The terrain of the Beimu Mountain Range is so towering, and my perception is severely limited here,’ he thought. ‘How am I supposed to scout the conditions ahead?’

The map from Celestial Wolf City had only led them as far as the border between the Primitive Ancient Forest and the Beimu Mountain Range; it was useless for the journey further north. If they chose to take the long way around, it was said the journey could take several decades, and even then, if your luck was bad, you’d just end up as food for something else.

The reason was simple: the Beimu Mountain Range was also known as the Range of Exile. Some of the most malevolent members of the Demon Race from the Primitive Ancient Forest had been banished and imprisoned here, making it an incredibly fearsome place.

As for why they were exiled rather than executed, it was because they all originated from Chaos Main City. Their formidable Chaos Bloodline could not be allowed to go extinct. Naturally, their power was also immense.

Even a powerhouse like the Celestial Wolf Ancestor, at his current True Body Realm, would not dare force a passage through the Beimu Mountain Range. He himself would opt for the long detour to reach Tai Lake, and even then, he would have to tread carefully, staying far from the range’s borders to avoid being ambushed by one of the great horrors lurking within.

The True Body Realm was enough to earn one a place in Chaos Main City, yet even an expert of that caliber wouldn’t dare trifle with an exiled land like the Beimu Mountain Range, for fear of losing their life.

As these thoughts ran through his mind, Jiang Qiu continued to survey the Beimu Mountain Range. He could not glean any of its secrets. The silhouette of just a single peak before them seemed to hold up the very sky, reminding him of when he saw Northern Boundary Mountain in the Northern Boundary—it was as if it walled off the entire world. And that was to say nothing of the countless other mountains of the same scale that lay behind and beside this one!

Indeed, every single peak in the Beimu Mountain Range might be just as imposing as the Northern Boundary Mountain he had seen in the Northern Boundary. He wasn’t sure if it was just his imagination, but he could see how the Beimu Mountain Range effectively split the First Celestial Realm in two. To the south lay the Primitive Ancient Forest and the Demon Plain, and to the north lay the northern territories where Tai Lake resided.

He had never been to the Demon Plain, and he had only explored a tiny corner of the Primitive Ancient Forest. His understanding of the First Celestial Realm was therefore quite one-sided. Fortunately, his visit to Celestial Wolf City, now Nine-tailed Fox City, had provided him with sufficient information.

The Celestial Wolf Ancestor had told Jiang Qiu everything he knew about this world: the level of power held by those in the middle of the Primitive Ancient Forest, the types of mighty beings that dwelled in Chaos Main City, and the true strength possessed by the Demon Race!

In truth, the Celestial Wolf Ancestor’s own knowledge of the world wasn’t particularly profound. For instance, he didn’t know the detailed specifics of Chaos Main City. He was only certain that it held the means to break through to higher Realms—and possibly even a path to ascend to the Second Celestial Realm!

Indeed, every creature in this world sought to reach the Second Celestial Realm. Even the Nine-tailed Fox, who had only been at the Grand Dominator Level, had known that the First Celestial Realm was doomed to face a world-ending calamity. If they weren’t quick enough to break through to the Second Celestial Realm, everything would be wiped clean and forced to start anew.
