Chapter 545 - 452: Casually Suppressing the Ancestor, Exchanging a Large Amount of Resources for a Life

He had just watched as the Tiger King Great Dominator—the most powerful of his Eight Great Dominators, and arguably the one most likely to pose a threat to him—was instantly killed by the Nine-tailed Fox.

The Golden Eagle Ancestor was in utter turmoil. He had never imagined such a thing could happen. He had chosen to observe rather than intervene precisely because he was wary of the Nine-tailed Fox’s overwhelming power. After all, the rumors he had heard claimed she could kill a Great Dominator in a single blow, a level of strength that was certainly enough to make him cautious.

Even if the Nine-tailed Fox wasn’t an enemy of unimaginable power, she was, at the very least, his equal. It was only natural to treat her with caution.

And so, he had brought a large contingent of masters from the Golden Eagle Race here, to the skies above the Tiger King’s territory, to await good news.

But what happened? The moment the Tiger King appeared, he was completely stunned. He never expected that even the Tiger King had managed to break through some of the shackles beyond the Spirit Control Realm. He had actually begun his Transformation, and had even reached a significant level. The oppressive pressure he radiated was immense, his aura exceedingly dense.

Even he, a Golden Eagle who had achieved his Transformation for ten thousand years, wouldn’t dare claim with certainty that he could instantly kill the now half-transformed Tiger King. After all, the Tiger King’s aura was truly dense, and his physical strength was unrivaled among the Eight Great Dominators.

This was a powerful demon he could not easily kill in a single blow; he would even need to be wary of some unexpected fatal strikes. And yet, this very same powerful demon, who had aroused a sliver of caution even in him, had been instantly killed by the Nine-tailed Fox!

But what shocked him most of all was that the Nine-tailed Fox could actually take on a human form, and the fluidity of her Transformation was far superior to his own. So much so that an unknowing observer might have thought the Nine-tailed Fox naturally possessed two forms.

In truth, he himself could also assume a human form, and a very complete one at that. But he normally wouldn’t, as he had long since grown accustomed to his Golden Eagle body and its gift of flight.

Yet despite having spent all these years adapting to his transformed body, he still couldn’t achieve the same fluidity as the Nine-tailed Fox. It was truly humbling.

He had never imagined he would encounter such a monstrous prodigy as the Nine-tailed Fox within his own domain. He even began to wonder if he was mistaken. ’Perhaps that isn’t the Nine-tailed Fox, but some powerful being with a Chaos Bloodline who has descended?’

Such a suspicion was only natural. He had not seen any other True Dominator-level Super Great Demons in many years. The ones he had encountered, he mostly knew. He had never met one as unfamiliar as this Nine-tailed Fox.

Besides, the Nine-tailed Fox had appeared in her true form at the start, an undeniable statement that she was who she was—the Nine-tailed Fox, not an imposter who had taken her place.

That was what truly shook him to his core. How had the Nine-tailed Fox managed to evolve to this extent in such a short time?

She was merely a Great Dominator, even if she was close to the Transformation Realm. But the actual gap was not a mere difference in Heaven and Earth Spirit Charm. Understanding the Great Dao was the highest threshold in this world. Without the immense power to found a race and pass down a Cultivation Technique, one could not reach the Transformation Realm. The Golden Eagle Ancestor had walked that very path; he knew the hardships of Transformation and just how powerful a member of the Demon Race becomes upon reaching that realm!

Before, he had only considered the Nine-tailed Fox’s strength to be decent and her Talent exceptional. He thought that perhaps one day she might become the strongest of the Eight Great Dominators. But he had never imagined she would grow to a level that made even him deeply wary!

Thinking of this, the Golden Eagle Ancestor took a deep breath. Dropping his pretense, he instantly began to manifest his human form. He descended from the High Heaven, releasing an invisible pressure of Heaven and Earth Spirit Charm that flattened the surrounding grass and trees. When he spoke, his clear voice seemed to echo with the sound of the Great Dao itself. "Nine-tailed Fox, you’ve achieved Transformation?"

The Nine-tailed Fox was not surprised by his direct question. She merely glanced back at him. With a twitch of her fingertips, a murderous intent flooded the air, and it seemed the entire forest had become an inescapable deathtrap. If the Golden Eagle Ancestor so much as moved, he would perish right here!

Indeed, it was only after stepping into the forest that the Golden Eagle Ancestor felt it. Before, he hadn’t perceived the slightest danger here; he had merely wanted to speak with the Nine-tailed Fox. Of course, he had deliberately maintained what he thought was a safe distance. But as it turned out, it wasn’t safe enough!

TWANG—

With a vibration like a plucked bowstring, a thin trickle of blood traced a red line across the Golden Eagle Ancestor’s fair cheek. His pupils shrank. He didn’t dare move a muscle. Only now did he sense the tens of thousands of red threads already laid out all around him. To move a single one would be to move them all. He would die!

"How is this possible!"

He was deeply shaken, never having anticipated such an opening move. He was a supreme being at the Perfect Transformation Realm; how could he possibly fear a Nine-tailed Fox who was supposedly at a similar level?

Wary, at most.

But now, he was suddenly overcome by a sense of utter helplessness. He felt as if his life was held completely in the palm of the Nine-tailed Fox’s hand. The moment she decided to kill him, he would be finished!

It was not strange for him to have such a thought. In truth, his defensive capabilities were not as high as one might imagine; his main advantages lay in his superior flight and powerful long-range attacks.

But now, he had no way to break free from the Nine-tailed Fox’s snare. He was like a Stone sinking into a mire, the situation impossibly dire. One more move, and he would die.
