Chapter 440 - 399: Shangguan Yue is Shocked: How Can It Be the Harmonization Realm?

Coincidentally, along with her, over a hundred other girls from the Human Race were also sold. The buyer had undoubtedly taken a liking to their human traits and needed some interesting females to expand their race.

At this realization, Shangguan Yue felt no great stir. She was already numb, knowing her fate was out of her hands. From the moment Blue Star was raided by Zuo Xuan, freedom had become a distant memory. Now, she was nothing more than a numb puppet with the temporary ability to think, her Spirit Charm so restricted she couldn’t use it at all.

And so, she and over a hundred other human women followed a member of the Three-Life Race, one whose form was remarkably human-like, to a major city in the Thunder Great Realm.

The architecture here was magnificent. Towering structures rose like great mountains, one after another. Dark clouds perpetually shrouded the sky, though they resembled a dense fog more than anything. The light source was the eternal thunder itself, its brilliance illuminating every uniquely featured passerby on the streets. Some creatures were even formed from condensed thunder, their eyes glowing like blue light bulbs. Beings like these constituted the vast majority of the population.

This was the first time she had ever seen so many different races walking the streets, the first time she had seen what civilization beyond Blue Star truly looked like. Unconsciously, her eyes darted about, taking in the buildings and the pedestrians.

Indeed, this was the first time she had seen such things. For over a decade, the voyage had been nothing but imprisonment, a life without daylight. The last time she had been outside was when the Eight-direction Reversing Ship ran out of power in a desolate world. While it was refueling, they had built new prison cells in a remote location, and she had only managed to steal a few breaths of fresh air during the transfer.

As for the countless slaves from different worlds aboard the Eight-direction Reversing Ship, she had actually seen very few. The ship was segregated, with different areas for different races or those from different worlds of origin. In her section, she mostly saw indigenous humans from other worlds; there was little novelty.

Some truly, memorably ugly races would occasionally come to their cells, but communication was impossible. Their cultivation Realms were too low, and they couldn’t understand each other’s languages.

Later, the Eight-direction Reversing Ship activated a special ambient field, finally allowing the slaves to understand the meaning behind one another’s words.

So now, to be able to walk free and see a city suffused with such an exotic atmosphere, she couldn’t help but feel a flicker of emotion. An imperceptible light flashed in her eyes, a light that seemed to hold a yearning for the sky, for freedom.

TAP. TAP. TAP. Their footsteps echoed on the street as they walked onward, the gazes of passersby trailing after them. She and the other members of the Blue Star Human Race entered an even more prosperous district, where they saw more members of the race that had purchased them—the Three-Life Race.

She was not entirely ignorant of their handler’s power. Before leaving the Eight-direction Reversing Ship, she had been briefed on her buyer’s information and given a warning.

It was the first time she had received such a clear picture of the universe, of the broader situation in the Outer Realm.

Yes, she had learned that the one who purchased her and the other women from Blue Star was a member of the Three-Life Race. They were a major race, one of the Peak Races in the Primordial world cluster, a full tier stronger than the Emperor Blue Lizard Clan of the Nine Venerable Great Realm. One did not cross them lightly.

And yet, an expert from this powerful race, a master at the Peak of Fusion Realm, had come to buy a hundred-odd pieces of trash like her, who hadn’t even reached the Peeping Dao Realm.

’What did Peak of Fusion Realm even mean?’

She vaguely recalled hearing on the news once that during the great battle in Gao Yuan City, the Northwest’s strongest expert, Luo Beixing, had a sudden breakthrough in the heat of combat. He had reached the Half-Step Fusion Realm, becoming a massive deterrent on the battlefield and nearly killing the Chen Dragon.

At the time, that was the highest Realm a human had ever reached. No one had achieved it before him. Then came the great calamity, and it became an even more impossible height for the Human Race to attain.

The Fusion Realm had once been a level of power that existed only in ancient texts. It wasn’t until she was on the Eight-direction Reversing Ship that she gradually realized hundreds of Fusion Realm experts existed within that single, massive vessel. Of course, those who reached the Peak were exceedingly rare. They were all of such high status, beings she could never hope to even lay eyes on in her entire life.

’And a being of that stature, a regional director for the Three-Life Race, a powerhouse at the Peak of Fusion Realm, actually spent resources to buy me and my people... for the purpose of procreation...?’

A tangle of thoughts echoed in Shangguan Yue’s mind. Her brow furrowed slightly before unconsciously relaxing. ’Should I feel fortunate?’ she wondered.

’From what I know, the Three-Life Race is extremely profit-driven. They love doing business. Generally, they have no connection to procreation. After all, they’re already a Peak Race. Why would they need to worry about that?’

’And yet, such a powerful member of the Three-Life Race bought me. It’s hard not to suspect that he might be a rather unique individual within a great race, perhaps with some unknown quirks. After all, he bought over a hundred of us at once, and in person, no less.’

The more she thought about it, the more Shangguan Yue paradoxically felt a sense of relief. ’I never thought my life would end with this kind of identity. If I get the chance, it would be better to just die...’

DING—

The chime of an automatic door drew her attention. She followed the esteemed Peak of Fusion Realm expert into a magnificent residence that was practically a palace, where staff in formal attire bowed in greeting.

This was clearly a shop opened by some great personage. The items for sale were all protected by special mechanisms. There were few customers browsing at the moment, and those who were present looked anything but ordinary.

Passing through this area, Shangguan Yue and the others delved deeper, into what seemed to be the owner’s private quarters. The space within was a world of its own, inexplicably vast. Three figures were slowly emerging from the depths. One was a member of the Three-Life Race with an incredibly potent aura; it felt as if a mere twitch of his brow could make the heavens fall and thunder rage. His robes were magnificent, like a landscape of mountains and rivers woven into brocade.

Another wore a Dragon-shaped Mask and had an average build, resembling a masked human in a black robe. He was plain and unadorned, yet he exuded an air that commanded respect.

The third was particularly eye-catching: a Dragon Maiden. Her long, flowing-tasseled dress looked as if it were woven from celestial silk. With bare ankles suspended in the air, she floated over like a graceful koi, yet her aura was exceptionally cold. Her pair of Dragon Horns was a symbol of majesty. It was a shame her face was hidden, as she too wore a mask, though hers was so lifelike it looked like real skin.

As the trio appeared, the Peak of Fusion Realm expert leading their group hurried forward, bowed, and said, "Lord Yang Lei, Your Excellency Jiang Qiu, Your Excellency Snow, I have bought out all the people of the Blue Star Human Race from the Eight-direction Reversing Ship. Regrettably, many were lost and scattered during the ship’s journey. Only one hundred and one females remain..."

Hearing his report, Shangguan Yue was struck with astonishment, as if by a bolt of lightning. ’How could this be?’ she thought. ’Why would such a powerful expert, a master at the Peak of Fusion Realm, be so deferential to those three?’

’Could it be... that their status is an entire tier higher?’

’That... That’s impossible! A tier higher than the Peak of Fusion Realm... wouldn’t that be... the legendary Harmonization Realm?!’

Shangguan Yue had never seen an expert of that tier, aside from a chance glimpse of Zuo Xuan’s portrait. To her knowledge, in the entirety of the massive Eight-direction Reversing Ship, there was only one person at the Harmonization Realm: Zuo Xuan himself!
