My Arts Evolve When Perfected
Chapter 416 - 387: Witch Priest Power, Searching for [Flower], First Battle (2)
Not even all Harmonization Realm experts were universally known. This world harbored far too many powerful individuals. Even Tian Ming was well aware that the world was simply too vast. The Desolate Realm he had seen was just one of the minor worlds attached to the Yin Yang Great Realm, hardly worth mentioning among the countless world clusters.
A large part of why he wanted to make a name for himself at the Celestial Star Arena was the hope of finding the Witch Priest, Flower. After all, he’d heard that when Flower disappeared, the New Ancestor had searched for her for decades.
’If I can find Flower, I should be able to make the New Ancestor happy, right?’
For some reason, there was an urge deep within him, a longing to prove himself. He hoped to stand tall before his idol and accomplish something that would leave even him in awe.
With this in mind, Tian Ming reined in his thoughts and continued browsing the Desolate Realm’s network, catching up on the world’s trending topics.
A quick search for "Jiang Qiu" immediately brought up a mountain of news. The events weren’t even that long ago; by the Primordial Realm’s standard time, only a few months had passed. When Jiang Qiu had first arrived in this world, it had taken him less than half a month to rack up a fifty-win streak, stunning everyone.
He had also left behind all sorts of legends and speculation. Even now, millions of fans in this world still followed Jiang Qiu’s account, idolizing him.
’A considerable number of them are even at the Fusion Realm. As a ’local,’ I’m really not that remarkable. If it weren’t for the hype of being from the same race as Jiang Qiu, probably no one would be paying attention to this competition.’
"I will prove my abilities, New Ancestor. I will carry your name to every corner of the world, starting with the entire Desolate Realm."
With this resolve, he began to study Jiang Qiu’s fights, only to find that every video was an instant kill. Moreover, the techniques behind them were so astounding they were impossible to decipher.
An epic montage of the fifty-win streak was edited down to under thirty seconds. It was over in a flash. The video was padded mostly with various background tracks; the actual kill move was just the raise and fall of a hand, and then the enemy would drop dead.
Back then, Jiang Qiu had used being at the first level of the Spirit Body Realm as a gimmick to quickly attract a huge audience. Tian Ming couldn’t help but marvel, ’The New Ancestor is truly the New Ancestor. To think he disguised himself as being at the first level of the Spirit Body Realm... Or maybe, he felt that using only the power of a first-level Spirit Body Realm cultivator was enough to secure a fifty-win streak.’
He knew Jiang Qiu was a man of immense power; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been the one to end the War of the Chosen.
Some people might still question Jiang Qiu’s Talent, but that’s only because they don’t understand the concept of the War of the Chosen. What is the War of the Chosen? It is a battle between the Chosen Ones. The War of the Chosen had occurred for dozens of iterations, but Jiang Qiu alone was the one who brought the entire thing to an end!
In the dozens of iterations before, the Chosen Ones were not selected from Blue Star. However, according to historical records, they all seemed to be incredibly arrogant individuals, each possessing extraordinary Cultivation abilities.
They had all made their own magnificent mark in the War of the Chosen. Some were even peerless in their era, like the Human Race’s first-generation Chosen One, Zhuang, and the supremely powerful Celestial Chosen Demon of the Demon Race. All of them were incredibly formidable.
They didn’t come from Blue Star, so they must have come from other worlds. Combining this with the knowledge he now had about the Primordial world cluster, it wasn’t hard to deduce that a Secret Realm containing the remains of a True Dragon was an exceedingly rare treasure throughout the entire Primordial cluster.
In other words, the dozens of generations of people qualified to be selected for the Northern Boundary and become Chosen Ones were surely the most talented individuals from their respective worlds. The only question was which worlds they came from—Great Realms or minor ones.
When he had chatted with the senior, Celestial Star, he mentioned that minor worlds generally aren’t privy to information about Secret Realms containing True Dragon remains. After all, anything related to a True Dragon is typically sought after by Harmonization Realm experts. They are desperate to finally achieve Transcendence and pin all their hopes on a True Dragon’s remains.
Therefore, Tian Ming suspected that the New Ancestor’s Talent ranked among the absolute top tier even within the entire Primordial world cluster. His visit to the Desolate Realm was likely just a casual test of his skills, nothing he had to try particularly hard at.
’And that’s precisely what makes him an idol. A man of peerless talent!’
The more he browsed information about Jiang Qiu online, the more awestruck he became. ’Sure enough, an idol is an idol. His various abilities were on full display.’
’However, that also brought me to the comments about myself. Most people don’t seem to think much of me, one of the Jiang Divine Race People. Some even think I won’t make it past a three-win streak?’
He paid them no mind. Time passed, and soon, the day of his first battle arrived. He entered Arena 1 of the Celestial Star Arena—the very same place where Jiang Qiu had fought his final match.
Even Celestial Star logged into the live broadcast to watch the debut battle immersively. This was partly to guard against any mishaps befalling Tian Ming—though that possibility was infinitesimal—but more so because he wanted to see if the Void Dao was the real deal.
Despite the abilities Tian Ming had already shown, he was still curious about the Void Dao’s combat prowess and needed to witness its return with his own eyes.
The viewer count for the live broadcast quickly shot past one million, then two, then three. The fans who had followed Jiang Qiu had formed the "Jiang Alliance" and had come on their own to watch the debut of Tian Ming, a member of Jiang Qiu’s race.
A large portion of the audience was also the result of the Celestial Star Arena’s all-out promotional efforts. The viewership for this fight was second only to Jiang Qiu’s fiftieth-win tribulation match.
"Whoo, the day is finally here! I’m dying to see if this guy from Jiang Divine’s race is just as incredible."
"Jiang Divine’s Talent is Unrivaled, so a member of his race probably can’t be too shabby. The main thing is, the guy looks completely confident. He doesn’t look like he’s weak."
"That’s not a given. Even powerful races have their share of duds. Besides, the Human Race generally just gives off the impression of being the local primitives in most worlds. Most of them can’t even achieve universal Cultivation, so how could every single one of them have peerless talent?"
"Yeah, for the Human Race to produce an absurd existence like Jiang Divine was already unbelievable. How could they possibly produce another peerless genius?"
"To be fair, reaching the Fusion Realm already makes him a peerless genius. Are you all just saying he’s not good enough because you’re comparing him to Jiang Divine?"
"Ahem, friendly reminder: the Cultivation Realm Jiang Divine displayed back then was the first level of the Spirit Body Realm, not the Peak of Fusion Realm or the Harmonization Realm. Let’s not get it twisted, people. (Heh)"
"LMAO, now that you mention it, I totally forgot! Jiang Divine was supposedly at the first level of the Spirit Body Realm back then, right? So how do I remember him one-shotting someone at the Peak of Fusion Realm?"
"Mandela Effect. You get used to it. Tbh I also have this vague feeling that Jiang Divine reached the Harmonization Realm?"
"Harmonization my ass. The fight’s starting, so stop spouting bullshit and just watch... HOLY SHIT, I’M SORRY, I WAS WRONG! Bros, please stop DMing me death threats! You weren’t spouting bullshit! You weren’t! Jiang Divine is the GOAT! Jiang Divine is the one True God of the Desolate Realm! I don’t want to end up like the Soul Race! Please, I’m begging you, stop threatening me! I’m terrified!"
"That’s what you get for running your mouth. Just watch the fight. Otherwise, I’ll wipe out that little clan of yours tomorrow."
"Holy shit, a Fusion Realm expert? And he’s a fan of Jiang Divine too?"
The bullet-point comments exploded with discussion, but Tian Ming was completely oblivious. He was simply facing off against a bizarrely-shaped opponent at the Initial Tier of the Fusion Realm. The opponent looked quite arrogant. "So you’re a member of Jiang Qiu’s race? You look like total trash!"
"If Jiang Qiu hadn’t already left by the time I got here, I would’ve loved to see his skills for myself. See if those rumored instant kills were the real deal..."
