My Arts Evolve When Perfected
Chapter 403 - 381: The Northern Boundary Problem, War God Jiang Qiu
While Jiang Qiu was still traveling through the void, a mere five years had passed on Blue Star. After experiencing a great catastrophe, the entire planet began a period of great revival.
In one fell swoop, Zuo Xuan had swept through and captured all of Blue Star’s geniuses. Even experts at the Dharma Realm were few and far between. All that remained were the relatively mediocre, older individuals with no hope of ever advancing to the Peeping Dao Realm.
Under these circumstances, the Kunlun Demon Clan, whose combat strength had been fully preserved thanks to the dragon Chen, launched an invasion of their own. Vast swaths of Blue Star lay in ruins. Many buildings needed to be rebuilt, and large numbers of refugees required resettlement.
Meanwhile, the Human Race across the globe faced threats from various factions of the Demon Race. War was constant as they competed for land and vied for territory on Blue Star.
However, no faction, whether of the Demon Race or the Human Race, dared to target Gao Yuan City and its surroundings. Thanks to Jiang Qiu’s presence, that entire region had regained its strength and, to this day, boasted the most vigorous revival of all.
The entrance to the Northern Boundary was controlled by North Border City, and North Border City, which in turn controlled the entire Northern Wilderness, was aligned with the South. After the great catastrophe, no one was in a position to contest its ownership; everyone else was bogged down in their own messy affairs.
Within the Northern Boundary, numerous masters resided, and many peerless young geniuses had emerged. Their Talent was being further developed. Though divided into two main factions—the native tribes and the garrison from Gao Yuan City—they were all united in their support of Jiang Qiu.
When people learned of this, they were filled with reverence. Everyone understood the situation clearly: all of Blue Star’s peak combat power—indeed, any combat power worth mentioning—was now concentrated in the Northern Boundary. Within the borders of this mighty land, all other factions had lost their influence. The various clans of the Demon Race retreated into their Secret Realms, no longer daring to emerge and contend for power. Those near the massive urban cluster around Gao Yuan City simply fled for their lives.
This region was now the undisputed power. No faction dared to challenge its authority. However, it had no interest in managing the affairs of other regions, being intensely focused on its own infrastructure development and territorial restoration.
Under the temporary command of Grandmaster Lin Yu, the reconstruction effort proceeded smoothly.
Just then, he initiated a virtual conference to discuss how to face Venerable Zuo Xuan’s next sweep fifty years from now. "Everyone is well aware of the message Zuo Xuan left us," he began. "His plundering of Blue Star will not be a one-time event. When our next generation comes of age, they will face the exact same predicament. Our civilization will be fractured yet again."
"At that point, it will be impossible to continue the legacy of our Human Race. It will be as if we have become a vassal state to their Nine Venerable Great Realm, harvested for eternity with no hope of ever breaking free."
"Even now, though a few more promising Grandmasters have emerged in our lands, it makes no difference. Under the oppressive might of Venerable Zuo Xuan, even a Grandmaster at the Dao Entry Realm is utterly useless."
"To Zuo Xuan, we are like ants facing an elephant. Our chances of winning a direct confrontation are virtually zero. Unless some disaster befalls the Nine Venerable Great Realm, we will be harvested for all eternity. The Human Race will never see the light of day again."
"Therefore, I propose we initiate the ’Human Race Auxiliary World Transfer Plan.’ We must mobilize all available resources to transfer the exceptionally talented geniuses we’ve cultivated into the Northern Boundary, where they can receive the legacies of powerful experts."
Lin Yu was elderly now, his temples streaked with white. At over a hundred years old, his cheeks were like wrinkled earth, rough and dotted with liver spots. Yet, his eyes remained bright, and his voice was still resonant and powerful, like a torch in a gale that could never be extinguished.
’Zuo Xuan has taken all the young prodigies, leaving Blue Star and its cities critically short of talent. If we want to preserve what little we have, we must make use of the protection afforded by the Northern Boundary’s Secret Realm.’
’After all, the Secret Realm in the Northern Boundary once protected Jiang Qiu. It protected me, too. With its protection, we can evade Zuo Xuan’s sweep.’
’That’s exactly why I want to leverage the Northern Boundary. By using its Secret Realm, we can safeguard the Human Race and ensure our geniuses are protected.’
’Only the unique protection of that Secret Realm can stop Zuo Xuan from taking our people. It’s the only way to preserve our talent pool and keep the future of the Human Race from being extinguished.’
’Of course, the tens of millions of people in the Northern Boundary don’t understand what truly happened on Blue Star. Many of them are clamoring to go home, but that home is now a wasteland. Their lives there would be far worse than what they have in the Northern Boundary.’
’The Northern Boundary did its job, protecting them so well that the last great catastrophe Zuo Xuan inflicted on Blue Star didn’t touch a single one of their geniuses.’
’It all seems straightforward enough. I control the entrance to the Northern Boundary’s Secret Realm. I have the highest Realm of anyone left. Even if I’m not a combat-focused Grandmaster, I am still incredibly powerful—the only one of my kind left on Blue Star.’
’But I’ve made so few major decisions myself. Most of the reconstruction has been handled by my subordinates. My only directive to our people has been ’rebuild.’ My only policy for the Northern Boundary has been ’nurture.’ I’ve pinned all my hopes on the talented youths who managed to escape capture.’
In fact, most of the large group of refugees who had survived from Gao Yuan City had adapted to life in the Northern Boundary. They erected skyscrapers at the foot of the Northern Boundary Mountain, rebuilding the glory of the Human Race. There was no shortage of Martial Arts talent among them. Given sufficient resources, they quickly reached the Spirit Body Realm in their Cultivation. The most gifted among them could even reach the Bright Soul Realm, and some, eventually, the Dharma Realm.
