My Arts Evolve When Perfected
Chapter 383 - 371: The Youth of Yesterday, the Peerless Prodigy of Today, the Last Hope of the Human Race
When the name Jiang Qiu appeared in the promotional text, Zhu Weiyi froze on the spot. He never imagined he would see that name here.
Suddenly, the image of a young man surfaced in his mind—a visage from a past both distant and yet so vividly clear.
For more than ten years, he had never forgotten Jiang Qiu. He was a dazzlingly talented young man, the most exceptional person Zhu Weiyi had ever met.
Seeing Jiang Qiu’s name here felt like a scene from a dream; it all seemed so unreal.
’Is this an illusion? Is it real or fake?’
’It can’t be real...’
But as the promotional text grew more detailed, information about Jiang Qiu emerged—for instance, that he was of the Human Race.
This coincidence was like a meteor streaking across the sky and crashing right into his mind, seemingly making his greatest dream come true.
How astonishing it was.
He gradually began to believe that the challenger described in the text was indeed the Jiang Qiu he remembered—a powerful genius of the Human Race, invincible among his peers, and even capable of killing opponents in higher realms.
This was certainly something a genius like Jiang Qiu could achieve. But when he saw the challenger’s information—that Jiang Qiu was only at the First Rank of the Spirit Body Realm—he felt that something was wrong.
’Logically, no matter what, Jiang Qiu’s Realm should be at least Dao Entry by now. After all, back during the great purge of Blue Star, he already had the power of the Dao Entry Realm when he headed to the Northern Boundary.’
Back then, Jiang Qiu had inherited the Great Dao of Luo Beixing—the top expert of the Northwest Province and Zhu Weiyi’s old comrade-in-arms. His Realm had very likely surpassed Zhu Weiyi’s own by now.
’With his exceptional Talent and astonishing, legendary experiences, the man is blessed by immense fortune. How could his Realm possibly regress instead of advancing?’
’For Jiang Qiu, breaking through to a new Realm was only a matter of time. He was so absurdly talented it was as if he had no bottlenecks. It’s impossible that he would regress.’
’Then again, how did Jiang Qiu survive Venerable Zuo Xuan’s great purge?’
’I vaguely recall all the geniuses on Blue Star being captured. Logically, there shouldn’t have been any left.’
’Tens of thousands of geniuses were abducted. Millions of people vanished, all of them crammed into Venerable Zuo Xuan’s Teleportation Ship.’
He wasn’t sure if Jiang Qiu had been among them. As a slave, he had no access to the complete list of people taken from Blue Star.
After being imprisoned for a while, he was unceremoniously sold off to this planet. Because of that, he had no idea what happened to Blue Star or how many geniuses were captured. He only knew that Blue Star had suffered a devastating loss in that catastrophe, and the Human Race had been robbed of its talented new generation.
But now, he saw the name Jiang Qiu. He saw a miracle. He saw the flames of the Xia Country rekindled. It seemed Jiang Qiu had not been captured by Venerable Zuo Xuan; for some special reason, he had escaped the great calamity.
However, it looked like he had paid a heavy price for it. To only be at the First Rank of the Spirit Body Realm was simply inconceivable.
’What could possibly cause a Grandmaster at the Dao Entry Realm to fall all the way to the First Rank of the Spirit Body Realm in just a few years?’
Zhu Weiyi found it utterly baffling; he had never heard of such a thing happening.
But what was even more inconceivable was that Jiang Qiu, with his First Rank Spirit Body Realm, had instantly killed an expert at the Peak of Dao Entry Realm. ’That means he could instantly kill me, too.’
And now, he was about to face a challenger at the Peak of Fusion Realm. Zhu Weiyi had originally thought the Peak Fusion Realm expert was the most dazzling genius, but he had completely misunderstood.
This First Rank Spirit Body Realm expert from the Human Race was the truly terrifying one. This was his qualifying match after a 49-win streak, and his opponent was a Peak Fusion Realm powerhouse who also had a streak of over 40 victories.
An opponent like that could single-handedly destroy the entirety of Blue Star. This was no exaggeration, as the power of the Fusion Realm was unfathomable.
Zhu Weiyi couldn’t even imagine how someone at the First Rank of the Spirit Body Realm could possibly withstand the attacks of a Peak Fusion Realm expert. Yet, when he saw the name Jiang Qiu, his conviction wavered.
He desperately didn’t want to see Jiang Qiu fail, even though, subconsciously, he knew it was impossible for someone in the Spirit Body Realm to contend with the Fusion Realm.
He truly didn’t want to see Jiang Qiu die. For all of Blue Star, Jiang Qiu might be the only hope—a member of the Human Race who had escaped Venerable Zuo Xuan’s grasp, a free and unfettered genius.
If Jiang Qiu could just mature, perhaps one day he could carry the flame of Blue Star and set the myriad realms ablaze. For the weak Blue Star, what it needed was a single spark to carry the hope of survival to other places.
The enslavement by the Great Realms was nearly impossible to escape, and one couldn’t expect Jiang Qiu alone to shoulder the monumental task of reviving all of Blue Star. The hope was simply that he could carry the best of the Human Race’s lineage to other worlds—places like the Desolate Realm—to take root, flourish, and continue their legacy.
That was why Zhu Weiyi didn’t want Jiang Qiu to lose, even though he believed it was fundamentally impossible for someone in the Spirit Body Realm to defeat an expert at the Peak of Fusion Realm.
In this situation, he was both thrilled and terrified. Thrilled that the Human Race had truly produced a peerless genius—one so talented it defied his imagination.
