My Arts Evolve When Perfected
Chapter 347 346: True Dragon Divine Abilities [Day and Night Reversal]
The moment the True Dragon Will erupted, the will of the [Dream Demon] began to crumble. His myriad thoughts were unraveling, and his entire soul was perishing. The Secret Technique he had been channeling was suppressed, and the thousands of souls that remained here, transformed into iridescent butterflies resembling fireflies, were reduced to ash.
Even the tiny soul fragment he had hidden several Great Realms away, lying in wait to stage a comeback, was affected and instantly vanished like a firefly.
Furthermore, Emperor [Chen], who had lent the [Dream Demon] a wisp of his Dragon Race bloodline aura, suddenly coughed up blood. The light in his Dragon Eyes flared, responding to a connection through the Laws that no one else could comprehend.
Staring at the blood he had spat on the ground, [Chen] was momentarily stunned. A look of shock, one he had not worn in many years, spread across his face. It was an utterly incredulous experience.
'The True Dragon's Will... has revived?'
It had only been for an instant—a single moment—yet all living beings within that distant Secret Realm Space were crushed to death, becoming fuel for the revival of the True Dragon Will.
The power of an existence that has transcended epochs is beyond comprehension. Even though it had fallen for some special reason, that didn't mean the beings of the myriad Great Realms could covet what it left behind.
What many failed to realize was that the inheritance of an existence on the level of a True Dragon could never be claimed by one without the blood of the Dragon Race. Not even the most minuscule fraction of that legacy was attainable.
Far too many people failed to comprehend what Transcendence meant. It was to be an existence freed from the constraints of the World Law of a Great Realm, an existence no longer bound by worldly principles. Its inheritance could only be obtained by one who was worthy.
As a Transcender of the Dragon Race, its legacy had to be passed down to one of the Dragon Race. This was destiny—an ineluctable destiny!
Even a Harmonizer couldn't necessarily compete with a Dragon Race infant for the True Dragon's inheritance. This was an ironclad rule!
It was for this very reason that [Chen] had felt completely at ease lending a wisp of his Dragon Race bloodline to the [Dream Demon], letting him retrieve the True Dragon's inheritance on his behalf.
If his assumptions were correct, the inheritance there should have been the True Dragon's right eye. It formed a pair with the left eye from the Northern Boundary, and bringing them together would activate the True Dragon's innate Secret Technique—[Day and Night Reversal].
'A Secret Technique of this level ought to be called a Divine Ability. It's a peerless art that can only be comprehended after achieving Transcendence, one that stands above numerous other Laws.'
'He had originally thought that even though the seal on the True Dragon's left eye in the Northern Boundary had been broken and that fellow Jiang Qiu had taken it, as long as I found the right eye, I could still find a way to beat the left eye out of him.'
'But now, the right eye is gone!'
'Someone else actually inherited it!'
"How is this possible?" [Chen] was deeply confused. He tried to probe what was happening on the other side through some unseen connection, but the distance was too great. The Laws of the numerous Great Realms acted as a barrier, drastically weakening his senses. Moreover, the Dragon Spirit Secret Realm itself was highly sealed off. Since he had not yet recovered to his Peak, he was not powerful enough to extend his consciousness inside. 'Could there be another with Dragon Race blood in this world besides me?'
'This is a Great World Community completely different from the last epoch. I've never actually set foot here before, and I'm not sure of the origins of the entire [Primordial] Great World Community.'
'If a new member of the Dragon Race truly existed in this world, it wouldn't be entirely incomprehensible. But it would have to be an exceedingly rare case, one that had endured endless calamities, surviving innumerable Celestial Tribulations over hundreds of millions of years.'
This was [Chen]'s intuition.
'Although I'm not entirely clear on the fall and extinction of the Dragon Race, my intuition tells me that our kind can no longer be created.'
'For another Dragon Race member to appear would require the machinations of an existence beyond Transcendence and for the myriad Daos to yield their place. It would be impossible otherwise. It's an act that defies the heavens themselves.'
'In my memory, only one other has appeared who belongs to the Dragon Race... Jiang Qiu...'
'Is this the hidden depth of the Human Race?' Shaking his head, [Chen] spat out another mouthful of blood. This time, it was from the backlash of the [Dream Demon]'s complete demise. "Dammit."
While Emperor [Chen] was coughing up two mouthfuls of blood, Jiang Qiu had already regained full consciousness within the Dragon Spirit Secret Realm. His body was enveloped in a golden light, his Dragon Race features growing more distinct. The Dragon Horns on his head now carried an aura that seemed to reach for the heavens themselves.
The greatest change was to his eyes. Both had originally been vertical, blood-veined Dragon Eyes. But now, after absorbing the Dragon Spirit Fish, along with the True Dragon's physical remnants and the corresponding Will within it, his right eye had become as deep as an abyss, its pupil as black as chaos.
That eye could not perceive the world's appearance, but it could sweep across the entire Secret Realm and see its true nature. Every soul fragment within was reflected in its depths, clear at a glance.
It could be said that as long as he opened his right eye, the Secret Realm held no secrets from him; the Secret Realm itself *was* his right eye.
Not a single living creature remained in the Secret Realm. All nine cultivators at the Harmonization Realm had met their end here. At the world's center, an azure embryo was gestating, holding within it the soul of [Snow].
An unending stream of power poured into it. The souls of over two hundred thousand powerful Cultivators had become fuel, seemingly to cultivate a true, tangible Dragon Form for [Snow].
"The connection between our souls is tighter," Jiang Qiu murmured, staring at the azure embryo in a daze. "But I still can't see the entirety of your soul."
At this stage, both of his Daos had reached the limits of the Dao Entry Realm. "My Dao" and the Hundred Ghosts Dao had both reached the Half-Step Fusion Realm. His true strength was still unknown, yet he felt as if the true Fusion Realm was still a great distance away.
After all, he walked two Daos. Fusion, as the name implied, meant fusing a Dao into one's own body. If he had only been walking a single path, absorbing the Dragon Spirit Fish might have greatly increased his chances of achieving Fusion.
But now, walking two Daos, the difficulty was immense. This was especially true given that the domineering, "who but I?" nature of "My Dao" and the controlling nature of the Hundred Ghosts Dao were both so pronounced and in such stark opposition. Under these circumstances, the difficulty of achieving Fusion was multiplied.
To put it dramatically, while every epoch had cultivators who reached the Harmonization Realm, there might not have been a single person who had ever fused two Daos. It would be no exaggeration to call such a feat unprecedented and unrepeatable.
Under these circumstances, a single Dragon Spirit Fish was not enough to help him break through the bottleneck. Fortunately, at the Half-Step Fusion Realm, Jiang Qiu had already begun to grasp a small portion of the Space-Time Law. With a period of study, it would be enough for him to cross between Great Realms independently.
This portion of the Space-Time Law came from the True Dragon's inheritance: [Day and Night Reversal].
He only needed to comprehend a mere sliver of its essence to have a chance at confronting a Fusion Realm expert head-on, despite only being at the Half-Step Fusion Realm. If he mastered a bit more, given his aptitude from cultivating two Daos, it might not be impossible for him to fight one to a standstill.
'[Snow], I will help you forge your new body. On the day you are reborn into this world...'
After silently making this promise to the azure embryo, Jiang Qiu waved his hand. The world within the Secret Realm warped, and space-time began to shift. Following a predetermined anchor point, he returned to the Yin Yang Great World Netherworld Dynasty Capital.
