My Arts Evolve When Perfected
Chapter 334 - 333: Senior Brother, Let’s Take a Bath Together
In the Netherworld Dynasty, the distance between any two cities was a thousand li. The journey from the remote Sunset City to the Capital City spanned over ten thousand li and required travel via Teleportation Arrays.
Moreover, this required multiple transfers, each with an exorbitant fee. Sending Jiang Qiu and Snow had taken a heavy toll on the Hundred Ghosts Sect’s reserves.
Fortunately, the Teleportation Arrays were fast, the journeys happening in the blink of an eye. After several successive spatial jumps, they arrived in the Capital City. Their vision was immediately filled with teeming throngs of geniuses.
From every city in the entire Netherworld Dynasty came hundreds, or even thousands, of Cultivators at the Peeping Dao Realm or Fusion Realm. That amounted to hundreds of thousands of Cultivators!
Inside the vast Transmission Hall of the Capital City, the arriving prodigies were being guided out in an orderly fashion by the Imperial Court Guard toward designated rest areas.
Jiang Qiu and Snow, just the two of them, walked to the registration desk in the Li Hall and presented the Hundred Ghosts Sect Token from Sunset City to register.
"Just the two of you?" The registrar frowned, sizing them up for a moment without seeing anything of note. "How strange. Here, take this and go. Find a place to stay in the Capital City’s Outer City. When the Netherworld Monarch makes an announcement to the entire Capital, that’s when the Great Secret Realm is about to open. Just follow the instructions then."
Catching the two number plates the man casually tossed over, Jiang Qiu raised an eyebrow. "Does 133424 mean we’re approximately the one hundred thirty thousandth to register?"
"Heh, no. For your Early Stage of Peeping Dao Realm cultivation, that’s about the best rank you can get. I just grabbed them at random."
The registrar stated bluntly. His full suit of Black Armor exuded an indisputable might; as a Cultivator at the Peak of Peeping Dao Realm, he naturally looked down on someone at the Early Stage.
What’s more, their Sect had only sent two people, and one of them was a Cultivation Dish. ’How strong could a Sect like that be?’
He would just deal with them perfunctorily and be done with it.
"And if we were at the Dao Entry Realm?"
Jiang Qiu asked.
"Same thing for the Dao Entry Realm. We just give them a random tag ranked somewhere past three thousand. There are too many people, how could we possibly make proper arrangements for everyone?" The registrar waved his hand dismissively. "Go on, go on. Don’t hold up the people behind you."
"..."
After a moment of silence, Jiang Qiu led Snow out of the Transmission Hall. He suddenly stopped. As far as the eye could see, countless skyscrapers like celestial pillars plunged down from above the clouds. They resembled a vast forest of steel bamboo, exuding a grim, endless pressure.
All sorts of bizarre creatures roamed the streets, along with Cultivators who looked like plants. Most of them had Cultivation at the Dharma Realm or higher, and there were even one or two whose Realm even Jiang Qiu couldn’t discern.
’I’d forgotten,’ he thought. ’The cultivation path in the Yin Yang Great Realm causes cultivators to transform in ways similar to a Cultivation Dish. Not every path of cultivation leans toward the Human Race. This place is truly thriving.’
With an inward sigh, Jiang Qiu glanced at Snow, who was looking around curiously. The pair of Dragon Horns on her head were exceptionally delicate. Contrasted with the crowd of cultivators who were neither human nor demonic, her beauty seemed all the more striking and otherworldly.
’Good thing they aren’t human. This way, no one will think Snow looks strange.’
And so, Jiang Qiu led Snow by the hand through streets where all manner of ghouls and monstrosities drifted and paraded. He used the Yin Net to check a map of the Outer City and found a relatively modest hotel to stay in.
He had left the Hundred Ghosts Sect with ten thousand Yin Yang Coins. In Sunset City, that was enough to be considered fabulously wealthy; a single Yin Yang Coin could buy an entire building.
The common folk there had never even seen such currency.
Even in the Capital City, its purchasing power was astounding. A one-night stay on the 3023rd floor of the hotel was only one Yin Yang Coin, which wasn’t too expensive.
’I guess that’s not too expensive?’
CLICK—
After ascending directly via a spatial elevator, he arrived on the 3023rd floor. A dog-headed attendant led him to his reserved room, and the door opened automatically after confirming his identity.
White Jade floors stretched out before them. Various crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling, and an indoor pool was as large as a lake—probably big enough to raise a shark in.
The suite had several luxurious bedrooms, a lavish bathroom, and a door leading out to the hotel’s external veranda, which overlooked the Capital City.
From the 3023rd floor, they were already high up in the clouds. The crisscrossing streets below looked like fine, cramped lines sketched with a charcoal pencil. It was impossible to make out any details, only a sense of overwhelming density.
Countless other skyscrapers, just like this hotel, rose vertically to connect with the High Heavens. Looking up, he could only see their tops far in the distance. They looked like a forest of chopsticks, all surprisingly orderly.
Leaning on the veranda railing, Jiang Qiu’s hair danced wildly in the wind. His clothes whipped about him, threatening to be torn off by the gale, but his masked face and his body remained perfectly still.
The wind was incredibly strong, yet it seemed to be weakened by some kind of special Realm. Otherwise, it would have been powerful enough to make the building sway.
’A curious sensation.’
’Are the buildings in the Yin Yang Great Realm built this high so they can spy on the Yang Realm?’
"Senior Brother, the bath here smells so fragrant! Shouldn’t we go wash up?"
Suddenly, Snow’s voice drifted from the room, interrupting the sense of grandeur welling up in Jiang Qiu’s heart. His expression shifted slightly. These days, bathing with Snow was no longer as simple as just a massage; she always took advantage of his inattention to satisfy her curiosity with little explorations.
’Of course, there was nothing wrong with that. On the contrary, if his Realm hadn’t hit a bottleneck, the soul connection between them would have continued to rise rapidly.’
’But the crucial question was, since when did a Soul Body need to bathe?’
"Ah, forget it." Sighing, Jiang Qiu closed the veranda door and walked toward the bathroom. ’I’ll take a bath and use the opportunity to check the Yin Net for news about the Nine Venerable Great Realm.’
In the Yin Yang Great Realm, bathing was a necessity, much like eating. It held a special significance, and even experts at the Fusion Realm would do it.
After so many years, Jiang Qiu had grown accustomed to this way of life. His body always felt incredibly refreshed after a bath, as if his very soul had been elevated.
He slipped out of his clothes and slowly stepped into the steam-wreathed pool. Snow, already floating in the water like a fish, tilted her head back to look at him. Her skin was as smooth and fair as her name, and her slender hands paddled at the surface. Her perfect toes swayed gently up and down, and her small Dragon Horns tapped lightly against Jiang Qiu’s chest. Her flowing hair, shimmering with an ebon-gold light, rippled in the water.
"Don’t start yet," he admonished, grabbing Snow’s pale wrists. He lifted her glistening form from the water and sat her down beside him. "Just soak for now. I need to connect to the Yin Net."
"Okay."
Snow nodded. She stared into Jiang Qiu’s eyes for two silent seconds, then her chin gradually sank beneath the surface. Her Dragon Horns followed, and then her long, dark hair disappeared as well.
The pool was huge, at least ten feet deep, but since they both possessed the bloodline of the Dragon Race, they could float effortlessly in any position. They didn’t need to push off or tread water; it was an instinct, as natural as breathing.
Her luminous Dragon Eyes peered through the water at her Senior Brother’s body, now in full view. His defined muscles had a unique appeal. She twisted her waist, glancing at her own snow-white form and the few Dragon Scales covering her private areas. ’We really are so different,’ she thought.
’I should go give him a massage.’
