My All Powerful System
Chapter 240 The Cafeteria Gathering
She was putting her tablet and pens into her bag. She was humming a small tune.
"Great lecture, Professor," Lynx said smoothly, leaning against the edge of her desk. He was close to her. He could smell her perfume. It smelled like flowers.
Mira looked up, her big black eyes meeting his heterochromatic ones. Under the influence of his passive Eternal Charm and striking appearance, she felt a subtle, pleasant warmth settle in her chest. Her heart beat a little faster. She felt a little nervous but happy.
"Thanks, Lynx," Mira smiled, leaning against the podium with her arms crossed. "Though I know you didn’t actually learn anything new today. Your wind comprehension is already very high, more than, isn’t it? I saw your tournament replay. That wind prison you did was insane. You trapped that Year 4 guy in like two seconds."
"Maybe," Lynx smirked, his voice dropping into a low, smooth register. "But listening to you explain it makes it sound a lot more interesting than reading it in a book. You make it sound easy and fun."
Mira let out a soft, melodic laugh, shaking her head as her cheeks flushed pink. Her cheeks were pink and her eyes were sparkling. "You really are dangerous, aren’t you? Flirting with your professor on your first day back? If the Headmistress hears, she will kill me and you."
"Just telling the truth," Lynx chuckled smoothly. "I’m planning on coming to your class regularly from now on. I could still use your guidance. Especially one-on-one guidance. I learn better alone."
"Is that so?" Mira grinned, her eyes sparkling. She liked the challenge. She was not scared.
"Well, if you’re going to be my star student, we’re definitely going to have to spar in the private training room sometime. I want to see how fast your wind stride actually is. I heard you’re faster than sound now. Is that true?"
"Name the time and place, Professor," Lynx replied without hesitation. "I’m always ready for a spar. Especially with a beautiful professor like you."
Mira pulled out her hPhone, opening her Instalite app. The app made a small beep sound. "Let me get your contact first. I need to make sure you don’t skip out on me like you did with Rose. I want you in my class every day."
Lynx pulled out his own device, scanning her code on the spot. The phone beeped and the profile linked.
When the profile linked, Mira looked down at her screen and her eyes went wide in pure shock. Her mouth opened wide.
"Wait... Lynx Azarion... 200 million followers?!" Mira gasped, looking up at him in disbelief. Her voice was loud with shock.
"You’re literally one of the most followed Blessed in the entire empire, continent even. More than most Blessed Generals! You have a gold crown verification! Oh my god!"
Lynx just shrugged casually, offering her a charming, careless grin. Like it was nothing.
"Social media moves fast. I don’t even check it that much. See you around, Professor Mira. Don’t miss me too much."
"See you, Lynx," Mira smiled softly, watching his tall, muscular frame walk out of the hall with a lingering glance. She stared at his back for a long time until he disappeared.
Lynx walked out into the central academic courtyard and made his way toward the main academy cafeteria. The courtyard was huge and open.
The sun was now high in the sky. It was no longer early morning. It was noon. The light was bright and white. Students were everywhere, walking to lunch. The air smelled like fresh cut grass and food from the cafeteria.
The main academy cafeteria was a massive, three-story glass building floating over a subterranean waterfall feature. The building was made almost entirely of glass.
You could see through it. You could see students eating inside from outside. Under the building, there was a waterfall. The water was flowing down into a dark hole below.
The sound of water was soft and relaxing. Lights were floating around the building. The cafeteria had a bridge that led to it, made of light.
Inside, the cafeteria was buzzing with thousands of students. The place was loud. Thousands of voices talking at once. Trays clattering. Chairs moving.
The smell of food was strong. It smelled like grilled meat, fresh bread, soup, and sweet fruits. There were many food stations. Each station had different food.
Fire station had spicy meat. Ice station had cold drinks and ice cream. Earth station had bread and heavy stews. Wind station had light salads and fruits.
Near the large VIP dining terrace on the second floor, Lynx found his group gathered around a long mahogany table. The VIP terrace was higher than the rest.
It had a better view. The table was long and made of dark wood that shone. It had golden plates and real glass cups, not plastic trays like normal students used.
Eleanor and her Year 4 enforcers couldn’t make it due to their senior tactical briefings. Year 4 students had different schedules.
They were busy. But the rest of his circle was fully assembled and waiting for him.
Ava, Eira, Emily, Kira, Lira, and even Raven were all sitting together, laughing and eating fresh fruit plates, grilled beast steaks, and iced teas. Their plates were full.
Ava had a big steak. Eira had a fruit plate with grapes and strawberries. Emily had a burger that was huge.
Kira had iced tea and chicken. Lira had a small salad and was eating slowly. Raven had a bowl of soup and was eating quietly.
When Lynx walked up and took his seat at the head of the table, the girls immediately turned to him with bright, mischievous grins. They all looked at him at once.
"Look who finally showed up!" Eira laughed, tossing a grape into her mouth and catching it. "The guy who got kicked out of four classes in one morning! We heard everything! The whole academy is talking about it!"
"Hey, it wasn’t my fault," Lynx chuckled, picking up a glass of iced juice. The juice was cold and had ice cubes. He drank a sip. "Rose said I was a distraction. Selene chased me out before I even stepped inside. I didn’t even get to say hello.
Brutus said I beat him up too bad and he doesn’t want to see me, and Jace looked like he was still having nightmares about the ascension trial. His face was so tight."
The entire table erupted into fits of laughter! Everyone laughed loudly. Even some nearby tables turned to look because they were laughing so hard.
Lira laughed so hard she nearly spilled her water. Raven covered her mouth to hide her laugh.
Kira wiped a tear from her eye, leaning against Lynx’s shoulder. She was laughing so hard she had a tear. "Professor Rose was literally complaining to the other teachers on the faculty group chat. Emily showed me. She said, and I quote, ’Azarion has ruined my morning lecture because all the girls were staring at his jawline instead of my fire equations.’ She actually wrote that!"
"It’s true," Emily added with a wide grin, nodding hard. "Half the girls in our fire class didn’t even open their notebooks. They were just taking secret photos of your side profile. One girl in front of me took like fifty pictures! Her camera flash was on! Rose saw it and got so angry! She took the girl’s hPhone!"
Ava leaned over, resting her chin on her hands as she looked at Lynx with glowing blue eyes. Her blue eyes were bright and beautiful. "At least Professor Mira let you stay.
Lira texted us in the group chat the second you sat next to her! She said, ’OMG Lynx is next to me help!’ with like ten exclamation marks! We all saw it!"
Lira’s face turned bright red again as she hid her face behind her drink cup. Her cup was big and white. "Ava! Stop! You said you wouldn’t tell him! You promised! I told you in secret!"
"We promised not to tell anyone else, not him," Ava giggled.
Raven, sitting quietly beside Lira, offered a soft smile. Her smile was small but genuine. "He actually helped us understand the wind formulas... he’s a really good teacher. He explained vector pressure in a simple way. Even I understood it immediately. He is smarter than Professor Mira in some ways."
"See?" Lynx smirked, wrapping his arms around Kira and Eira at the same time, pulling them close. "At least Raven appreciates my academic efforts. You girls just make fun of me. Raven is my favorite student today."
"Hey! We appreciate you too!" Kira said, punching his shoulder lightly.
"I appreciate you when you bring us food," Eira said, stealing his juice.
The group spent the next hour eating, laughing, and sharing stories about their week in the capital, enjoying the easy, warm camaraderie that held them together. They talked about the capital trip.
They talked about the luxury hotel they stayed in. They talked about the shopping mall. They talked about Amira’s crazy driving. They talked about Isabel’s cooking. Kira talked about how she won 10,000 H-Crystal in a card game. Emily talked about how she fell asleep in the hot tub.
The stares and whispers from the surrounding cafeteria tables didn’t bother them in the slightest. Hundreds of students were looking at their VIP table.
Some were taking pictures from far away. Some were whispering. "Look, that’s Lynx’s harem."
"They are all so pretty." "I wish I was there."
But Lynx and the girls ignored it completely. They were used to it. They only cared about each other.
Ava told a story about how she almost set the hotel curtains on fire because she sneezed and fire came out. Everyone laughed.
Lira told a story about how she got lost in the capital mall for two hours because she followed the wrong sign.
Eira complained that the hotel bed was too soft and she fell off twice.
Raven mostly listened but sometimes she added a small comment that made everyone laugh quietly.
Lynx listened and laughed and ate his grilled beast steak. The steak was juicy and soft. It tasted like beef but with a hint of mana spice. He ate two plates. He was very hungry after walking all morning and getting kicked out of classes.
The iced tea was sweet and cold. Kira kept pouring him more tea.
At one point, a Year 1 girl came up shyly to their table with a notebook and asked for Lynx’s autograph. Lynx signed it with a smile. The girl ran away screaming with her friends.
Once lunch concluded, the afternoon period drew to a close. The bell rang loudly across the cafeteria.
It was a long bell sound that meant afternoon classes were starting soon. But Lynx and the girls had no more classes today because it was their first day back and afternoon was free.
The girls parted ways to drop off their textbooks and handle their respective dormitory errands. They all stood up and stretched.
Kira and Lira walked together back to the Year 2 Girls Building, heading up to their spacious shared room to relax on their plush couches after a long morning of classes. They were holding hands and laughing about something Emily said.
Ava, Eira, Emily, and Raven returned to their respective quarters in the lower wing, waving goodbye to Lynx as they walked down the light bridge. Ava blew him another kiss. Eira shouted, "Don’t sleep too much!"
While Lynx walked back across the light bridge toward the Year 3 Boys. Building. The bridge was made of light and glass. Below it was the waterfall. The water was sparkling.
He entered Room 15, his upgraded VIP suite, and dropped onto the massive king-sized bed, exhaling a long, satisfied breath as the ceiling lights dimmed softly to his preference.
The room was big and quiet and cool. The bed was soft. The curtains closed automatically. The air conditioner turned on with a soft hum.
He locked his hands behind his head, staring up at the quiet ceiling. The ceiling had a small starry sky projection. Stars were moving slowly.
The morning antics with the professors were fun, but he knew what was coming next. It wasn’t just fun and games anymore.
In two days, Holy Daughter Seraphine would arrive at the Academy Cathedral for the public blessing ceremony.
That was a big deal. The whole academy and half the capital would be there. And Headmistress Amelia’s summons at the Central Spire was waiting for him tomorrow morning.
She sent him a message on his hPhone an hour ago. The message just said: "My office. 9 AM. Don’t be late, Azarion."
Lynx closed his eyes with a calm, dangerous smirk, letting the peaceful silence of his VIP suite envelope him as he prepared for the days ahead. He was not worried. He was ready.
