Chapter 943
Chapter 943: Compensation
The King showed a look of embarrassment, when Prince Muyi was mentioned.
Because of what the Imperial Master said earlier, he got so angry that he arrested Muyi, not wanting to see him any more. He had not released Muyi since, so Lady Chaoyan naturally could not see him at all.
However, since Muyi had not made those mistakes and he had taken his father into consideration whilst in the Saint Divine Land, the King decided to release his son.
Muyi was his son, so Muyi should not have gotten mad at him, just because he had arrested him due to misunderstandings.
He would also make compensation to his mother later. Her position should be promoted and a bonus given. Muyi would also be granted some bonuses as a way of praising him. Hopefully, the whole thing would pass by without any more misunderstanding.
He was still going to trust Muyi, if he continued to work devotedly for him.
He had thought about releasing Muyi after Gu Chaoyan left, but he decided to bring Muyi to the court directly, eventually.
Well…
Lady Chaoyan trusted Muyi completely, and she decided to give Muyi the business, and she spoke highly of him too. Therefore, the King suspected that they had some other private business which he had no knowledge of, and did Lady Chaoyan really not see Muyi while she was here?
The King was quite suspicious of all of this.
He could not put full trust in anybody or anything, so he decided to verify his conjectures.
The King had the whole thing arranged and then said with a smile, “Muyi is coming soon.”
Gu Chaoyan nodded and smiled.
She disliked the tea, yet Gu Chaoyan still picked up the teacup and drank some tea. She had become quite thirsty, after talking with the King for so long.
After a short while, Muyi arrived with the Eunuch.
He was totally surprised at seeing Gu Chaoyan. “Lady Chaoyan…?”
…Then he turned to his King in disbelief, trying to confirm that he was in the Feather Mulberry Land rather than in the Saint Divine Land.
The King felt totally assured seeing how his son reacted. He could tell that Muyi had no knowledge of Lady Chaoyan’s presence earlier.
He knew his son well. He was an innocent person who always showed how he thought. He could not have lied. And even if he lied, the King could distinguish it completely.

When he was certain about this, he became slightly more relaxed as he sized up his own son. He had been under arrest for months, and had lost much weight. He looked skinny.
After a moment of astonishment, Muyi became obedient again. He did not even dare to ask what Lady Chaoyan was doing here, but showed a look of timidness.
The King suddenly felt a slight heartache.
Muyi was always a happy child without many deep thoughts in him. How could he turn so distressed after a few months of arrest?
It was the King’s fault, after all. He blamed him for having done something he had not done.
So the King said to Muyi with a polite tone. “Muyi, I have misunderstood you, so I have been very strict towards you. Please, don’t take it to heart, I will compensate you.”
