Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!
Chapter 626: Trouble on the Set
Seeing Cecilia’s disdainful eye roll, Adrian Law shook his head with a smile, pulling Cecilia closer.
The man lowered his eyes, gently took Cecilia’s left hand, and softly kissed the plum blossom birthmark on her left wrist.
“Cecilia, my mother once said that girls are treasures in this world and shouldn’t be confined to the kitchen and stove.”
“I’m not that focused on appearances; I just hope you won’t be bothered by these trivial things.”
Cecilia frowned slightly, thinking that these were surely teachings from Adrian’s late mother, Susan Roswell, and indeed, Adrian’s explanation was just as she imagined.
Cecilia, afraid to upset Adrian by touching on the past, carefully chose her words and shifted the topic.
“Adrian, then why are you willing to cook yourself? It’s not like you lack the money to hire a housekeeper.”
After all, those high-profile bosses could always hire a five-star private chef to be at their service around the clock.
Adrian Law was obviously not like that.
“I don’t like interacting with strangers.”
Even with familiar people, he was quite resistant.
“…”
Cecilia stared at the man’s handsome and elegant features, finally nodding in partial understanding.
“I understand, it’s because you don’t want others invading your personal space.”
“Yes, that’s it.”
Adrian thought for a moment and then explained further to Cecilia.
“Also, I’ve always felt that even when alone, one should have the skills to live independently.”
Oh…
Why does she suddenly feel like an arrow just struck her knee?
Cecilia lowered her eyelashes in embarrassment.
“Why do I feel like I’m living less well than you… Mainly because most people think that girls should manage both the living room and the kitchen.”
“It’s okay, Cecilia, you can be the one to earn money and support the family, and I’ll handle looking beautiful.”
“…”
Adrian rarely joked, but Cecilia’s face turned rosy as a rose.
“Get out of here! If Wyatt finds out I’ve turned the CEO of the Law Group into my private chef, he’d probably want to kill me.”
Upon hearing this, Adrian shook his head with a laugh.
“He won’t. Wyatt would probably prefer to join you for a meal.”
Adrian’s face showed a hint of reminiscence as he spoke.
Back when he and Zion Prescott, and Felix Lockwood were in military training, Wyatt often joined them on adventures.
At that time, while in the wilderness lacking basic ingredients, it was Wyatt who caught two wild rabbits. Adrian then made Felix clean and debone them, while asking Zion to fetch some wild edible and non-toxic mushrooms and vegetables for seasoning, which allowed them all to enjoy an extra meal.
It was probably the harshest living conditions back then, but the four of them found such a rough meal of wild rabbit to be a delicacy.
Especially Felix, who was used to gourmet food and never imagined leading such a tough life, was wide-eyed with astonishment at that time.
——”Big brother, I never knew you had this skill. Why didn’t you let us enjoy this earlier?”
Zion Prescott, understanding Adrian’s thoughts, immediately silenced Felix.
——”Be glad you have something to eat, or else you’ll be stuck with bread.”
The dry rations provided during military training, especially the bread, were often stale and as hard as stones by the river, nearly inedible.
What bothered Felix the most was that despite such food, he couldn’t complain but had to eat it to have the energy to pass the training; otherwise, he’d have to run ten kilometers uphill, something most people couldn’t do.
Thanks to Adrian, they managed to improve their meals a bit. Even with such simple condiments, the food was considered heavenly by everyone.
However, because of those two wild rabbits, Adrian and the others were reprimanded and punished to do handstands and run 20 fast laps around the training field.
Felix was exhausted beyond belief and couldn’t make a sound in the end.
Adrian and Zion took it in stride, having anticipated this outcome. Perhaps due to Felix’s poor performance, their superior turned a blind eye to Adrian and Zion, letting them off with only half the punishment.
Felix, however, had to endure the entire punishment and became a laughingstock for failing the exam scoring the next day.
Back then, Felix’s relationship with Adrian and Zion wasn’t as strong as it is now, so he was worried they’d abandon him, but they didn’t.
Zion used his medical knowledge to help relax Felix’s muscles.
From then on, Felix resigned himself to being the third-ranked little brother.
Perhaps those two rabbits cemented Adrian as the leader.
And Zion, with his medical skills, leisurely observed while Felix had to cover for them, accepting it because he couldn’t match their skills.
What could he do, being less skilled?
…
The next day, Cecilia went to school to prepare for her last two tests.
The first test was all written, and Cecilia wrote swiftly, quickly handing in the paper.
As she walked out the door and looked up, she saw Sean Grant on the school’s Moonwatch Tower observation deck, resting leisurely beside the telescope, lost in thought.
Cecilia’s desk mate, Bella Prescott, submitted her paper ten minutes later and saw Cecilia’s gaze fixed on the rooftop, also looking in that direction.
“Cecilia, so you were looking at the school’s heartthrob. Aren’t you afraid your CEO will get jealous?”
Bella cheerfully linked arms with Cecilia, her face full of gossip.
Cecilia shook her head slightly, feeling helpless.
“Don’t be silly, I’m just envious that their exchange student assessments are different from ours, with fewer final exams.”
“What’s there to be envious about? If you’re going to be envious, Cecilia, I’ve heard the Caelus Academy of Fine Arts in Vessaria also offers exchange programs. Would you like to visit Vessaria?”
Bella spoke with a look of longing on her face.
Just when Bella was daydreaming, a few girls walked by, casting Cecilia strange glances, a mix of schadenfreude and sympathetic amusement.
Did something happen?
Cecilia frowned slightly, only catching bits of their conversation about something going wrong with the production crew…
Before she could figure it out, Bella interrupted her thoughts.
“Caelus Academy of Fine Arts, huh! I never even dared to think about it, being admitted to Stellerton University already used up all my luck!”
