The mist was hazy in front of her, even the man’s handsome brows and eyes were blurred by the steam.

Yet, even then, Adrian Law held her waist firmly, all his movements strongly asserted his presence.

"Cecilia, call my name."

Cecilia Vaughn was unsure how she’d been rendered speechless from all the teasing.

Her body felt unfamiliar, and Cecilia’s eyes turned red as peach blossoms from embarrassment. She attempted to pinch Adrian hard.

Yet, Adrian didn’t stop her; instead, he smiled, his lips curling up.

"Still got the energy to pinch people? Hmm?"

The charming tone was as elegant as the last string of a cello, yet it bore a dangerous edge.

Cecilia’s earlobe was stirred into a fine layer of fuzz, and she instinctively wanted to retreat. Though the bathtub was spacious, Adrian’s long arms wrapped around her waist, even pinning down her legs, leaving Cecilia unable to move.

After the man’s swift assault, the girl’s initial resistance diminished, and she surrendered without tears.

"I was wrong!... Adrian... don’t be like this... oof... it hurts..."

"You still know pain?"

Adrian chuckled lowly, his mischievous look turning thoroughly devious because of that deep gaze.

"Cecilia, when you pinch me, it seems like you don’t feel any pain either."

Isn’t this nonsense?!

It’s not like she’s pinching herself!

Although Adrian never retaliated in the same manner, their close contact left Cecilia almost feeling like a puddle in Adrian’s control, incapable of any mischievous thoughts to torment him.

...

The one being tormented evidently could only be her!

Cecilia glared at Adrian with a huff, seeing that the man intended to continue, she dared not act spoiled any longer.

"Waa... I was wrong, okay? Just go out..."

"Go out where?"

The man laughed suggestively.

"..."

Cecilia was so annoyed she rolled her eyes, but the simultaneous pain and pleasure she felt on her body was ultimately unstoppable, leaving her powerless and lying on Adrian’s shoulder.

"Fine, do whatever you want, but if I end up in the hospital, you’re going to regret it."

The last time she visited the clinic for these marital issues, even if it was a female doctor, Cecilia wished she could dig herself a hole to hide.

If it happened again, Cecilia absolutely wouldn’t let Adrian touch a single finger of hers.

He always acts so shamelessly.

╭(╯^╰)╮.

...

In the end, Cecilia was so tired she almost fell asleep.

She only woke up slowly when she felt someone using an ion hairdryer to blow-dry her hair.

She opened her heavy eyelids.

"Adrian... ugh, what time is it..."

"Twelve o’clock... Be good, close your eyes, and I’ll carry you back to the bedroom later."

"Okay..."

After going through all that yelling and crying earlier, Cecilia found her throat was a bit hoarse.

She squinted her sleepy eyes, catching a glimpse of Adrian’s focused face through a small gap.

Even for something like blow-drying hair, Adrian did it with the elegance and sophistication of flowing clouds and water.

Ugh...

If only the hairdryer were quieter.

...

The next day, Cecilia woke up to the bright daylight.

Perhaps because Adrian brought breakfast into the bedroom, a strange fragrance lingered around Cecilia’s nose, indescribable but making her stomach growl over and over.

Opening her eyes, she realized Adrian had cooked chicken porridge.

"Lazybones, finally willing to get up?"

The man ruffled Cecilia’s messy morning hair, some stray strands standing up humorously, making her already sleepy self appear even more adorably dazed.

"Isn’t it because of you?"

Cecilia grumbled as she pouted, despite having eaten a lot last night, the bathroom battle left her feeling drained.

Ugh...

Fortunately, her body felt clean and dry everywhere, Adrian must have tidied her up.

There’s no unusual pain, aside from genuine fatigue.

...

"Can I eat without brushing my teeth please?"

Cecilia was craving, her eyes pleadingly wide as she looked at Adrian with the aroma of chicken porridge in the air.

Heaven knows if Adrian brought this breakfast here just to get her out of bed, how else would she willingly leave the warm covers?

"No way!"

The man resolutely refused Cecilia.

Then, he quickly picked her up out of the bed.

"Be good, did you forget what day it is today? I promised to take you to Stellerton First High to visit your brother, but my company said there’s another important meeting this afternoon, so I’ll drop you off there but won’t be coming in."

"You certainly wouldn’t want to miss seeing Evan, right?"

"Seeing Evan doesn’t mean I can’t eat chicken porridge, right?"

Cecilia considered herself a logical genius, playfully sticking her tongue out at Adrian.

"No,"

The man raised his long, sword-like eyebrow at Cecilia.

"Cecilia, if you dare drink porridge without brushing your teeth, I’ll dare tell Evan about this embarrassing moment."

"..."

Come on, don’t hurt your wife like this, okay?

Is there any ounce of marital affection left!

If Evan knows her messy side, wouldn’t he replace the heroic image of her sister in his mind with that of a lazybones?

...

Cecilia really didn’t want to admit this is her true self.

If anyone were to be blamed, it would be Adrian for pampering her so much she’s oblivious to her duties.

"Hurry and get up."

The man flicked her on the forehead, though it looked heavy-handed, when it fell on Cecilia’s forehead, it was as light as a leaf.

"If you don’t brush your teeth, I’ll pour out the chicken porridge."

"What?!"

"There’s no more in the pot..."

"..."

Fine, you win.

Eventually, Cecilia reluctantly climbed down from Adrian’s embrace and swiftly dressed, then ran to the bathroom to brush her teeth rapidly.

"Brushing for less than five minutes easily causes cavities."

"..."

Hey! Do you have to be so damaging to the marital relationship?

Cecilia rolled her eyes again, seeing the toothpaste Adrian had already prepared for her, she didn’t know what to say.

Why does she sometimes feel like she’s the traditional husband?

It’s not that Adrian can’t earn a living, but most girls handle these tasks, whether cooking or other things.

Cecilia’s heart felt bittersweet.

"Adrian, have you ever thought, if the person you married wasn’t me, would you treat her as well as you do me?"

The extent of such goodness had even surpassed love.
