The music inside the booth was deafening, smoke intertwining, with the pungent scent of perfume mixed with alcohol wafting out.

Cecilia Vaughn almost felt an urge to vomit, listening to the group of people shouting excitedly amidst the agitating music.

"Strip! Strip! Strip! Oh, Cynthia, you lost again at rock-paper-scissors, haha..."

Cecilia Vaughn’s mind had been a tangled mess, like a ball of threads intertwined chaotically. Upon hearing the clapping and shouting, she suddenly cleared up.

...

Cecilia Vaughn remembered she didn’t bring a recording pen, but her phone could still record some images and sounds. She kept it in mind and turned on the monitor feature of her phone.

"Excuse me, may I interrupt you all?"

After doing so, Cecilia Vaughn quickly stepped forward. Her voice was neither loud nor soft but exceptionally clear. As the music paused in a transition, everyone could hear her.

All eyes turned to Cecilia Vaughn.

The booth was filled mostly with middle-aged men, well-dressed but clearly overindulged, with many having big bellies and bald heads.

Cecilia Vaughn frowned and quickly looked at the teenager tied up against the wall.

It was her brother, Evan Vaughn.

Evan Vaughn was not only tied up but had tape over his mouth, his eyes red and unable to speak. Upon seeing Cecilia Vaughn at the door, he shouted excitedly through the tape, but none could understand him.

...

Cecilia Vaughn stared at Evan Vaughn for a few seconds, a murderous urge rising in her heart.

Her beloved brother was being treated so harshly, and with his frail body, if anything happened, she’d fight these people to the end.

"Mmm... Mmm! Sis... Sis..."

Evan Vaughn looked at her frantically, his shoulders trembling against the ropes.

Cecilia Vaughn withdrew her gaze from Evan Vaughn, turning instead to the young lady beside the booth’s spinning tray.

It was... Cynthia Keaton.

No wonder the people were shouting so eagerly; Cynthia Keaton originally worked here, wearing a very thin sailor outfit.

Earlier, she had removed her jacket, and if she continued to undress, her inner garments might be exposed.

Not to mention Cynthia Keaton was just a high school senior, even an adult woman in society wouldn’t want to face such humiliation.

...

"Wow, gorgeous, where did you come from?"

A middle-aged man in a suit, with a thick gold chain, stepped out, staring glued to Cecilia Vaughn like he couldn’t look away.

Cecilia Vaughn knew exactly what vile thoughts were in his mind but didn’t slap him; she smiled kindly instead.

Yet, that smile held no warmth, cold emotion hidden deep in her eyes.

"I presume you are Lord Zane? Seeing is believing. Did Brother Long send anyone to inform you about me? I’m here for my brother and his classmate."

"Brother? And his classmate? I’ve never heard of anyone using such a title here in Elysian Fields All-Nighter City..."

The potbellied Lord Zane looked at Cecilia Vaughn playfully.

"Pretty lady, you seem decent. These two kids annoyed me and ruined my fun. You see, this girl Cynthia was playing games with us and losing again and again. She’s about to have to take off another piece of clothing, and I do feel sorry for her."

"So, Lord Zane’s point is? You want me to take it on?"

Cecilia Vaughn formed a rough plan, guessing his real intentions were likely close to her assumptions.

Sure enough, as soon as she finished speaking, the greasy, middle-aged man named Zane laughed sleazily, the urgency glowing in his eyes.

"Pretty lady, you’re quite sensible... You’re dressed warmly, right down to your padded down jacket. The air conditioning here is nearly twenty degrees; aren’t you hot?"

...

Cecilia Vaughn indeed was sweating from the heat.

She gracefully glanced at the middle-aged man named Zane and then smirked.

"No worries, I’m naturally cold, it just helps disperse the chill in my body."

"..."

The crowd was instantly in uproar, surprised to see Cecilia Vaughn remain spirited even while here to rescue her brother, daring not to humor Lord Zane.

And Lord Zane, though usually upset at being insulted publicly, saw Cecilia Vaughn’s clean and lovely face, turning his anger into a burning desire.

"Pretty lady, you say you’re naturally cold? That’s too good, I’m the warmest person around. Today being cold, maybe I can warm you up, be your living heater."

"..."

Upon hearing Lord Zane’s obvious tease, those around exchanged knowing looks, starting to share nauseating jokes about Cecilia Vaughn.

"Oh wow, such a delicate young girl, Lord Zane, aren’t you afraid she’ll get hurt?"

"Lord Zane so full of energy, really worries that this pretty lady won’t be cold enough, might be overwhelmed."

...

Cynthia Keaton being taken advantage of physically and verbally infuriated Evan Vaughn, tied in the corner. Now seeing his own sister targeted, Evan Vaughn wished he could stare these despicable scoundrels to death.

He struggled fiercely, despite being tied, managing to flip a chair sitting in the corner due to his strength.

The loud crash grabbed everyone’s attention.

"You disrespectful brat! Choosing the hard way!"

A guard next to Evan Vaughn, angered by his struggle, wanted to hit him.

Cecilia Vaughn coldly spoke up.

"Lord Zane, my brother is just a minor. Even if he offended you, shouldn’t he be treated this way?"

"Plus, my brother has a heart condition. Though you might dominate here, what if there’s a fatality? If he dies out of anger, you might bear the majority of the responsibility."

Though they play hard, they’re not like Brother Long, indulging in dangerous acts, and Lord Zane has relatives pursuing political careers, ensuring he’s more cautious.

Compensation is minor, but if someone exploits it, a life isn’t the same as visiting recreational places.

...

As soon as Cecilia Vaughn finished speaking, sure enough, silence spread among them, even the guard wanting to punish Evan Vaughn recoiled instantly.

No kidding, if it were someone healthy it would be fine, but seeing him look sickly, if anything really happened, Lord Zane would definitely blame his subordinates.

He didn’t want to be the scapegoat.
