Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!

Chapter 562: Sinful Thoughts of Seeking Pleasure

  • Next Chapter

Fiona Vaughn felt disdainful, ha, at this moment, suddenly showing respect for the elderly and love for the young?

Fiona Vaughn silently curled her lips, then became more attentive in continuing her introduction to Mr. Adams.

"Mr. Adams, look at this plum blossom, a special variety cultivated by Stellerton University; pink with a hint of white and a touch of purple. See how elegant and unusual this bud is, if given the chance..."

Fiona Vaughn hadn’t finished speaking when Mr. Adams poured cold water on her head.

"What’s so special about that, just a mixed-colored plum blossom. If you come to our school, you’ll see five-colored roses in the lab, now that’s truly stunning."

Mr. Adams sneered; because the earlier Stellerton students appeared as if they wanted to spit at him, Mr. Adams was irritated, carrying over his arrogance towards Fiona Vaughn.

Fiona Vaughn brought embarrassment upon herself, naturally feeling annoyed, but knowing she’d soon attend a major banquet with him, offending Mr. Adams now was not an option. She could only nod awkwardly.

"You’re right, though, you’ve graduated from a Laurel League school, and Vesperia’s technology is strong, so your flower cultivation methods must be superior."

...

Everyone saw Fiona Vaughn flatter the foreigner with lowered eyes again, repeatedly saying Vesperia was superior to Veridia. Remembering their earlier attitude, everyone’s dissatisfaction grew.

She was once hailed as the goddess Fiona, but many of her fans now feel ashamed; there’s no way around it. In comparison to their beloved nation’s dignity, an idol’s character becomes extremely important.

Moreover, they witnessed this scene with their own eyes, not hearsay, and couldn’t even muster a defense for Fiona Vaughn.

...

A sophomore student council president walked out, sincerely speaking to Fiona Vaughn.

"Fiona Vaughn, I don’t know how remarkable those five-colored roses are, and you haven’t seen them either, so why demean our school’s technology in front of outsiders?"

It’s known that Stellerton University is renowned for its garden cultivation, especially in plum blossom planting, where it’s won awards both nationally and internationally.

The flower cultivation praised by Adams might not even have the technical depth of their school’s plum blossoms.

...

Seeing this younger student’s disagreeable tone toward her, Fiona Vaughn became increasingly upset.

She raised her eyebrows sharply, nearly unleashing her anger on someone uninvolved due to the frustration with Mr. Adams. Yet, seeing the Stellerton students all looking at her with hidden concern, Fiona Vaughn had an abrupt moment of sobriety.

She pinched her palm several times before putting on a deeply apologetic yet exceedingly gentle smile.

"I apologize; I was too rash. If given the chance, I should visit Mr. Adams’s school, after all, firsthand experience is undeniable, right?"

Fiona Vaughn perfunctorily brushed off the sophomore student council president with a couple of sentences, then beamingly waved towards Mr. Adams.

"Mr. Adams, if given the chance, why not take me to visit your alma mater? Honestly, I’m very curious about your school’s technology. I’m not sure if you can give me this opportunity."

A beauty’s gaze, like autumn waves. Adams saw Fiona Vaughn’s clear yet alluring eyes, and his heart’s strings were stirred—but upon noticing Fiona Vaughn’s slowly revealing pregnant belly, his playful thoughts were finally quelled.

If Fiona Vaughn weren’t pregnant, it wouldn’t matter. After all, this child belonged to the Law Family’s second son, and even if Fiona Vaughn fell out of favor with Tyson Law, this child would undeniably be treasured by the Law Family. Especially since The Eldest Young Master Law and Cecilia have no children, and there’s gossip saying he might be impotent, unable to father a healthy child.

Although Mr. Adams loved the thrill of chasing beauties, Fiona Vaughn was pregnant, and getting involved with her was too costly. Adams immediately gave a reserved smile, neither explicitly nodding nor swiftly rejecting.

"Oh, is that so? Well, maybe some other time."

Fiona Vaughn hadn’t expected his response to be so uncooperative, deepening her fury, yet she couldn’t do anything about it for now.

Meanwhile, Mr. Adams feigned enjoying the scenery, taking two steps before seeing Cecilia Vaughn and Adrian Law chatting amiably with a nearly hundred-year-old elder. He couldn’t help but sneer.

"The Eldest Young Master Law, Eldest Miss Vaughn, I wonder if this elderly man’s eyesight is good enough to still see these vast plum blossoms."

...

No one anticipated that Mr. Adams would target an older man, further irritating everyone over this narrow-minded foreigner’s behavior.

Though these students were unaware of Old Mr. Yates’s specific identity, the elder had a dignified, celestial demeanor compared to the puffed-up disdain of Adams, naturally inspiring respect for elderly seniors.

Hence, a male student beside them immediately clenched his fist in anger, almost ready to spit at Mr. Adams.

It was Cecilia Vaughn who gently smiled, calming the male student with a glance, and then gracefully stepped forward herself.

"Mr. Adams, you may not know that for Veridia citizens, enjoying plum blossoms is not about seeing them with the eyes but appreciating the essence, like knowing it’s not snow because of the hidden fragrance."

Cecilia Vaughn translated those poetic lines into English, which Mr. Adams barely understood in essence, his disdain deepening.

"So you’re saying this elderly man’s nose is more useful than his eyes?"

Cecilia Vaughn saw that this person deliberately misinterpreted her words but merely smiled without replying.

She had stressed the essence, yet this foreign man insisted on a sensory pursuit, condescendingly reducing his view, leaving no room for meaningful debate.

...

Seeing Cecilia Vaughn silent, Mr. Adams felt even more smug.

He proudly approached Old Mr. Yates, speaking directly in English.

"Hey, old man, aren’t you worried about catching a cold in this wind at your age? You should stay home by the fire instead of taking up our space!"

Adrian Law slightly furrowed his brow, surprised at this tactless foreigner’s targeting Old Mr. Yates. To him, using Adrians’s principles, disrespect towards well-respected elders like Old Master Yates was unforgivable, whether Adams was foreign or local, it likewise garnered Adrian’s contempt.

"It’s you who’s taking up space, I presume?"

Adrian Law retorted coldly in English.

Mr. Adams was so furious his head almost smoked, and at that moment, an older blonde foreign lady rushed over.

"Revered Old Mr. Yates, what are you doing here? Minister Smith has been waiting for you for over an hour!"
