Seeing Cecilia Vaughn’s calm and composed demeanor, Rosalind White couldn’t care anymore and could only gaze longingly at Adrian Law.

"Adrian, don’t you understand my true feelings for you by now?"

The passionate night they shared was still vividly in her mind. Was Adrian really planning to leave so quickly?

Isn’t that just like those ordinary scumbags?

They had mutually promised a lifetime, he had said he loved her too, and was willing to divorce and hold a grand wedding with her. Those promises couldn’t possibly be in vain.

...

What Rosalind said was subtle, but she believed that Adrian understood.

Would he take responsibility for her?

She looked at him anxiously.

Her lips were bitten red, her hands tightly clutched at her sleeves, her porcelain-white face showing a touch of allure. Even without makeup, the glow of a woman cherished by a man, along with her shyness for her beloved, was the most enchanting.

...

Even Cecilia Vaughn was stunned by what she saw.

Cecilia couldn’t help but feel a wave of jealousy inside.

Even though she knew that Adrian had been with her the entire night, and they had spent a rare evening enthusiastically playing a game, ruthlessly defeating opponents.

Yet seeing Rosalind come to demand "responsibility" today, even if she got the wrong person, Cecilia still felt displeased.

"Miss White, what do you mean by this? Don’t speak as if my husband has wronged you. Please speak responsibly, okay?"

Cecilia said this as she possessively took hold of Adrian’s wrist.

"Adrian, I surely believe you, don’t worry. No matter what little seductress claims something happened between you two, I won’t believe it."

"After all, you love me so much that even if a girl without clothes stood in front of you, you wouldn’t be tempted, right?"

Cecilia looked at Adrian with a faint smile, appearing open and generous, but with a strong underlying threat.

Because Adrian could already feel a sharp pain coming from his arm.

Ouch...

Although Mrs. Law usually didn’t look strong, it turned out that when she twisted, it really hurt.

...

"Cecilia, I would never disappoint you."

Adrian was amused by his wife’s little act, glanced at Cecilia with his phoenix eyes, then smiled and held her hand.

"You are the only person I love in this life."

The man’s handsome brow slightly raised, displaying a teasing and profound smile on his face.

— If Cecilia hadn’t been with him last night, perhaps she wouldn’t be able to speak those words of confidence even when faced with a nude woman.

Such a false declaration, he couldn’t even bring himself to say.

At the very least, if a naked man passed in front of Cecilia, Adrian would feel nothing but fury and the urge to immediately skin the man alive.

How can you love someone so much and still be so generous?

Even if you strive to believe that the other person loves you wholeheartedly, such oaths are ultimately just deceit.

At least, you would feel anger, you would be upset.

Otherwise, if such ridiculous things happened, and you doubted nothing nor felt any heartache, how can you claim to love someone? Because love, by nature, implies possessive desire, an unwillingness to have his or her goodness exposed to others.

...

Cecilia sensed the teasing beneath Adrian’s smile and pursed her lips, not bothering to continue the charade with Rosalind.

"Miss White, is there anything else you wish to say?"

Rosalind looked at the two of them, seeing only each other in their eyes. Especially since Adrian didn’t even glance her way, as if she were invisible, the reassurance she had given herself crumbled instantly.

The promises she had painted were nothing more than fleeting illusions.

Heartbroken, she cried out in agony.

"Adrian, I didn’t expect you to be such a man who starts things but doesn’t finish them!"

Rosalind glared at Adrian with resentment, tears streaming down sorrowfully, making her look pitiful.

With that, in a state of heartbreak and despair, she fled.

Not, it’s not possible.

Clearly, Adrian wasn’t like this just last night.

Is it true that Adrian has some reasons he can’t leave Cecilia Vaughn?

Perhaps Adrian wants Radiant Group?

Rosalind never used to believe these things, but now she’d rather use them to console herself.

Or perhaps, is Adrian not as noble and heroic as she imagined?

Maybe he’s also a typical man who likes to keep mistresses, maintaining stability at home while enjoying variety outside?

Although this idea shattered a corner of Rosalind’s heart, it was better than being completely ignored by Adrian.

If that was the case, Rosalind believed she still stood a chance to rise to the top.

Adrian might just be acting with Cecilia to protect his reputation and image.

She certainly could find a way.

Rosalind recalled Fiona Vaughn’s conversation with her, and how Fiona successfully won over Tyson Law in the past. She seemed to understand something.

Is it... that she would only be able to rightfully kick Cecilia out and become Adrian’s wife if she had his child in her belly?

Come to think of it, Cecilia has been married to Adrian for quite some time, yet there’s no news of a child.

Rosalind gritted her teeth, perhaps... this one instance wasn’t enough.

She should have taken more of those pills.

Just unsure if there will be such a good opportunity next time.

Rosalind gazed forlornly at her flat stomach, recalling these days as her most fertile period, regretting why she washed off so early that morning.

If she had left more traces on her body, wouldn’t her chances of conceiving be higher?

...

Stellerton University campus.

Cecilia watched Rosalind’s fleeing figure and couldn’t help but sigh.

"Tsk, see the trouble you’ve caused with your flings."

"Cecilia, don’t speak nonsense, the main instigator isn’t here."

Adrian nodded meaningfully.

Cecilia understood instantly.

"Let’s go and have a look. Adams is indeed blessed with charm, I hear he went to the plum blossom festival early this morning, quite the stamina he has."

"Alright, I’ll go with you."

Initially, Cecilia intended to admire the plum blossoms, but now she had more of a mind for gossip.

...

The two walked along the path into Stellerton University’s exclusive plum garden. Stellerton’s plum blossoms were quite famous, and the garden itself covered a vast area, akin to a small park.

As Cecilia approached, she saw a group of Veridian students surrounding Adams, with the foreign man arrogantly gesturing and talking.

"Your Veridian green plum trees are indeed unique, but isn’t your national flower peonies, not plum trees?"

"The language of peonies signifies wealth and prosperity, no wonder people say Veridia is a land without faith, where everything revolves around money..."
