Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!
Chapter 522: Put That Bitch in Her Place
Rosalind White stumbled to the other side of the corridor and happened to see Fiona Vaughn in an intimate conversation with a foreign man...
He had short, light blonde hair, and his eyes were as deep and green as cat’s eyes. Although he was of a certain age, his gentlemanly and sophisticated demeanor was still enough to enchant a crowd of young girls.
The foreign man was none other than... Mr. Adams, who was about to visit Stellerton University for a cultural exchange between two countries...
...
Rosalind White suddenly paused, her hurried steps coming to an abrupt halt.
No reason, simply because she and Mr. Adams were alumni of the same Laurel League university in Vesperia, although Mr. Adams was several years her senior and one of the most outstanding figures at the school, often invited as a guest professor. Once, out of interest, Rosalind had even selected an elective taught by him.
Who would have known that although he appeared gentlemanly and refined, his mind was filled with indecent thoughts. At that time, Rosalind was taking a course on the music and art history of Veridia and Vesperia, and with a passion for attention, she sought guidance from this visiting professor to prove herself at the prestigious school.
But during his guidance, he often behaved inappropriately, such as casually putting an arm around her shoulder or leaning in to place a hand on her waist. This distance wasn’t overly intimate, yet it made their relationship seem closer than it was.
At first, Rosalind thought these were accidental. As it happened more frequently, Mr. Adams even invited her to a popular nightclub for a drink, claiming he wanted to recommend her for an outstanding student award. However, his hand lingered in her palm, hinting at his intentions so obviously.
Rosalind only had eyes for Adrian Law. In her view, no foreign man could compare to Adrian, even a tenth. Naturally, she understood Mr. Adams’s implications. While the allure of an outstanding student aura from a Laurel League school was tempting, Rosalind refused to lower herself to such a degenerate.
In the end, Rosalind obviously did not go, and the outstanding student award did not go to her. Word had it that the award went to a younger Kylantis mixed-blood beauty, and someone even took photos of Mr. Adams entering and leaving a hotel with her, though no scandal came of it afterward.
Rosalind understood well what they were up to behind the scenes, feeling disdainful yet thankful that Mr. Adams wasn’t the aggressive type, unlike some professors back home who would force themselves upon you if you refused.
...
Knowing that Fiona intended to find Mr. Adams, Rosalind felt uneasy, and seeing the two standing so intimately, chatting as if they were old friends, made her frown further.
Having painfully lost seventy million at the auction, Rosalind was in a bad mood, and she sarcastically jabbed at Fiona in Chinese.
"Didn’t expect you two to hit it off so well at your first meeting..."
Originally, Rosalind suspected that Fiona and Chloe Alden’s uncle Arnold might have been falsely accused, but seeing Fiona so close to Mr. Adams, Rosalind couldn’t help but wonder if Fiona really was cheating on Tyson Law.
Fiona noticed Rosalind approaching, saw her mocking and displeased expression, and immediately realized Rosalind must have suffered some loss at the auction, though whether it was that she couldn’t buy something she wanted, or some other grievance, Fiona couldn’t tell.
"Rosalind, you’re using the idiom incorrectly. Although Mr. Adams understands a bit of Chinese, he’s only half-baked. If you teach him wrongly, what if Mr. Adams misunderstands our Veridian culture in the future?"
Though Rosalind bore thorns, Fiona continued to smile, showing no signs of guilt.
She joked she would be interested in flirting with Mr. Adams, but with her current condition, all she could do was send a few suggestive glances. Fiona had no idea how else to entice a man.
...
Rosalind, feeling angry, found Fiona’s demeanor ridiculous. After all, Fiona coaxed her to the auction to buy a gift for Adrian, to gain his favor. But the gift wasn’t delivered, and so much money was wasted!
"Fiona, are you trying to say the innocent will remain innocent? Should I call Tyson over to see?"
Rosalind arrogantly raised her chin, needing an outlet for her frustration. Realizing Fiona might indeed be having a secret affair, Rosalind’s opinion of her dropped even lower, seeing her as someone who only climbed up via the child she was carrying by Tyson.
But such a major thing like being cheated on, what man can bear it? According to Rosalind, Fiona was only able to brazenly live in the Law Family’s old residence due to incredible luck!
...
Mr. Adams’s Chinese was indeed poor, only understanding the simplest phrases. He furrowed his brow slightly, dusting off his beige British-style coat.
"Lovely ladies, what might you be discussing? Could we perhaps communicate in English?"
Mr. Adams remembered Rosalind all right because this Veridian beauty matched his aesthetic sense well. Back when Rosalind was studying, he had noticed her, but unfortunately, she slipped through his fingers...
Now, the one who came willingly, Miss Fiona Vaughn, seemed promising. Unfortunately, being pregnant, any fun would be limited.
...
Rosalind directly declined in English.
"Mr. Adams, sorry, I have other matters to tend to and won’t disturb your enjoyment."
"Rosalind, don’t leave!"
As Fiona’s heart raced, she signaled to Mr. Adams before pulling Rosalind aside to coax her in Chinese.
"Rosalind, I know you might be disappointed at the auction, thinking it’s hopeless to win over Adrian, but don’t forget that Cecilia Vaughn is also at Stellerton University. The school has sent him an invitation to the Veridia-Vesperia exchange, and for Cecilia, Adrian will surely attend. Imagine the sensation!"
"Wouldn’t you want to team up with me at the talent competition hosted by the school to steal the spotlight from that slut Cecilia?"
