Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure

Chapter 1047 - 1046: Dragging Him Even in Death

Of course, Mr. Ford didn’t have the guts for that.

"Chuchu."

Mrs. Ford said, looking at Finn Chandler, "Once you’re feeling better, Mom will put up the money for you to start a company."

Finn Chandler had a knack for business and was very smart, just had one issue—she relied far too much on Julian Ford.

"Mom, that’s not necessary."

Finn Chandler refused; how could she bring herself to take Mrs. Ford’s money.

Starting a company takes quite a bit of capital too.

"It’s fine, think of it as a loan. A woman still has to earn her own money."

Mrs. Ford said seriously.

Earn her own money? Finn Chandler really didn’t have that kind of awareness.

Before she met Julian Ford, she did rely on her own earnings; playing the role of Young Master Chambers meant she basically had nowhere to spend her money, unlike Serena Sullivan and Anna who bought piles of skincare products and clothes.

Back then her biggest hobby was finding places to practice her moves.

After marrying Julian Ford and giving birth to Little Bao, she wanted to be a stay-at-home wife.

Now that Mrs. Ford was talking to her so sternly because of Mrs. Monroe’s situation, she felt too embarrassed to say out loud that this was her life goal.

"Oh."

Finn Chandler answered first; being the boss and making money sounded really exhausting.

Couldn’t she just stay home every day eating and drinking, waiting for her husband to get off work!

Once they arrived at the hospital, Finn Chandler and Mrs. Ford asked for the room number and went straight there.

Before they even reached the ward door, they heard sobbing coming from inside.

"Mom, please don’t do anything stupid again, okay?"

Anna Morgan looked sorrowfully at Mrs. Monroe lying there in the hospital bed, silent and unmoving, her heart aching.

It had only been a few days since the last suicide attempt, and Mrs. Monroe was at it again.

"It’s just a divorce, why do you have to throw your life into it!"

"I won’t!"

Mrs. Monroe’s voice came through, firm and low. "Even if I die, I’m dragging him down with me."

After basking in glory and happiness for so many years, her husband suddenly betrays her—pampered Mrs. Monroe just couldn’t accept it.

She thought she could force Mr. Monroe to turn back by threatening to die.

In reality, does that even work?

"Mom!"

Anna Morgan couldn’t talk Mrs. Monroe around; she truly couldn’t understand how a perfectly fine family could fall into such upheaval.

How could her beloved father fall in love with someone else and insist on divorcing her mother!

The happiness of the past felt like bubbles, shattering so easily.

To her, love really was fragile.

Mrs. Monroe was driving her to the brink.

After Mrs. Monroe’s last suicide attempt, she’d brought her to stay at her own place, but within a few days Mrs. Monroe had gone back.

These days, The Morgan Family had been much quieter, and she’d thought the relationship between Mr. Monroe and Mrs. Monroe had eased a bit.

Who knew Mrs. Monroe would pull something like this again.

You didn’t even have to guess to know Mr. Monroe must have provoked her.

"Anna, I want to see your father."

Mrs. Monroe said lightly, looking at Anna Morgan with longing in her eyes.

Anna Morgan hadn’t called Mr. Monroe, afraid that even if she did, he wouldn’t come.

"Anna!"

Just as Anna Morgan was about to answer Mrs. Monroe, Mrs. Ford came in with Finn Chandler after knocking.

"Let me talk with your mom."

When Mrs. Monroe saw Mrs. Ford, there was clearly a new light in her eyes.

They were peers and familiar with each other, so they understood one another better.

Anna Morgan nodded and went out with Finn Chandler.

As soon as she stepped outside and breathed in the slightly fresher air, Anna Morgan’s tears spilled out in pain.

"Anna!"

Finn Chandler took out a tissue from her bag and handed it to Anna Morgan.

Anna Morgan drew a breath and forced the tears back. She took out her phone from her bag as she walked forward.

"I’m going to make a call."

The call would obviously be following Mrs. Monroe’s wishes—to Mr. Monroe.

The news of Mrs. Monroe attempting suicide again had already spread among the major families; Anna Morgan felt sure Mr. Monroe must know.

And even if he did know, so what!
