Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 1038 - 1037
"Julian..."
Mr. Ford wanted to say more, but Julian Ford opened the hospital room door and walked out.
"Your mother really will..."
However, Mr. Ford’s words got stuck in his throat.
He looked at the door that opened and closed again, then glanced around and let out a heavy sigh.
Fiona, this was the last chance he had fought for her.
Mr. Ford sent a message to Fiona Ford, informing her of the news and advising her not to harbor any ulterior motives once she returned to Solaria.
Fiona Ford’s reply came swiftly, assuring Mr. Ford that she agreed with his words.
Old Master Chambers, who was staying in Solaria, visited the Ford Family to see Mr. and Mrs. Ford.
At Little Bao’s full moon celebration, Old Master Chambers attended and gave a gift to the child.
Besides the full moon celebration, today was the only other time he visited the Ford Family.
Finn Chandler watched Old Master Chambers chatting and laughing with Mrs. Ford, still unable to figure out his purpose and intentions for coming to Solaria.
Listening to his conversations, there was no mention of Finn Chandler’s past matters, let alone any dissatisfaction with him.
If he wasn’t praising Finn Chandler for his capability in managing The Chambers Corporation well, he was discussing the local customs of Solaria.
It seemed as if he genuinely didn’t care about Finn Chandler relinquishing his title as Young Master Chambers to marry Julian Ford.
Finn Chandler did not doubt that Old Master Chambers genuinely cared for him, but she didn’t dare to believe it either; she knew the personalities of all the Chambers Family members too well.
If the old man were so easily swayed and compromising, he couldn’t have controlled everyone in the Chambers Family.
"Mr. Ford, you must take good care of your health!"
In the reception room, Old Master Chambers said with a smile to Mr. Ford.
He had come today, aligning it with Mr. Ford’s hospital release, under the pretense of visiting him.
With Old Master Chambers being so concerned about Mr. Ford, and also being Finn Chandler’s biological grandfather, Mr. and Mrs. Ford obviously couldn’t treat him with anything but the utmost hospitality.
"Thank you for your concern, Old Master Chambers."
Mr. Ford replied, although he didn’t particularly like the old man in front of him, whose deep-set eyes always reminded one of something dark and eerie.
"I must head to the airport, I’ll be off."
Mid-conversation, Old Master Chambers suddenly announced.
"Old Master Chambers, are you leaving Solaria?" Mrs. Ford asked in surprise.
Old Master Chambers chuckled.
Though his face seemed full of smiles, upon closer inspection, those aged eyes were cold and chillingly discomforting.
Mr. and Mrs. Ford were no ordinary figures to establish the Ford Family’s position firmly in Solaria.
Even if they didn’t like Old Master Chambers, they would still execute their courtesies impeccably.
"Yes!"
"I’ve been in Solaria for a while; the matters I needed to attend to are mostly done."
As Old Master Chambers spoke, he deliberately glanced at Finn Chandler.
Julian Ford had people tracking Old Master Chambers’ movements.
Everywhere he went and everyone he met was reported back to Finn Chandler by Julian Ford.
Neither Finn Chandler nor Julian Ford was simple-minded, and Old Master Chamber’s appearance made them both wary and continuously cautious.
However, after many days in Solaria, aside from going out for sightseeing and tea, Old Master Chambers hadn’t visited any other families nor engaged in any activities.
Was his true purpose just to see Finn Chandler?
"Safe travels, Old Master Chambers,"
Mrs. Ford replied with a slight smile.
"I shall."
Old Master Chambers slowly stood up, "I must live to support The Chambers Corporation."
The conversation abruptly shifted to The Chambers Corporation.
"Finn, see me out,"
Old Master Chambers turned and said to Finn Chandler.
It wasn’t an unreasonable request to have a younger member see him out.
Mrs. Ford urged Finn Chandler to see Old Master Chambers out.
