Mr. CEO, You Look Strangely Familiar

Herman Hawthorne nodded in agreement.

"So, Miss Ellsworth, will you be holding another wedding ceremony?" another reporter asked.

"No, we’ve already had one. I’m more concerned with substance than ceremony and don’t care for extravagance. A small reception at home with close friends and family will be enough."

"Since Young Master Hawthorne and Young Master Grant are good friends, will you arrange a marriage with the Grant family’s twin sons?"

"I don’t even know if I’m having a boy or a girl yet, so I think I’ll skip that question. All right, my husband and I are heading home now. That’s all."

That morning, Nora Ainsworth and Chloe Marshall took the three children to the kindergarten closest to their upscale neighborhood.

The kindergarten was in an excellent area. And while the tuition was steep, it had excellent security, which was the most important thing.

The principal, who of course recognized them, personally greeted Nora Ainsworth and Chloe Marshall.

After the fees were paid, a teacher began to lead the three little ones to their intermediate-level class.

The old professor arrived a short while later, and the principal was, of course, thrilled to have him teach at the school.

With their minds at ease, Nora Ainsworth and Chloe Marshall headed home.

Two Men in Black stood guard at the kindergarten entrance.

Carrying a cute school bag, Dorothy Ellsworth wore a little white dress, her hair tied in a high ponytail that showed off her smooth forehead and made her look exceptionally bright and full of energy.

The teacher led the three children to the front of the classroom.

Seeing the new students, the twenty-or-so children in the class all looked up at them.

"Children, we have some new students in our class today. These two are twins! One is named Dylan Grant, and the other is Elmer Grant. This young lady is named Dorothy Ellsworth. Let’s all welcome them to our group!"

A smattering of applause from little hands followed.

The teacher pointed to the empty seats. "You two can sit over there, and Dorothy, you can sit next to that other little girl."

The three new students took their seats.

The teacher continued, "Since we have new classmates, you can spend the rest of this period getting to know each other. We’ll resume our lesson next class."

With that, the teacher left the classroom.

Almost all the children immediately crowded around the two Grant boys.

Among them was a pair of rather plain-looking twin girls.

They stared at the two boys as if they were some kind of exotic treasure.

The plain-looking twin sisters stared at them, their eyes sparkling. One of them spoke up first. "Hi, I’m Tilly, and that’s my sister, Tammy. Which one of you is the older brother and which is the younger brother?"

Elmer Grant looked at Dylan Grant. "Don’t tell them, big brother."

Dylan Grant: "..."

"You called him ’big brother,’ so you must be the younger one," Tammy said.

Elmer Grant realized he’d let it slip and gave her a sheepish smile. "Yeah."

The little girl actually blushed. She turned to her sister and said, "See that? He smiled at me! It must be because I’m so pretty."

Tilly immediately shot her down. "Pretty my ass! Why don’t you take a look in the mirror? He was obviously looking at me, okay?"

"But sis, we look exactly the same..."

Tilly gave her a shove. "You think I need you to remind me of that?"

Tammy fell back onto a stool and immediately burst into tears. "Then why did you say ’pretty my ass’?! We look the same! If I’m not pretty, then how pretty can you be?"

The onlooking children immediately burst out laughing.

Mortified and furious, Tilly yelled at her sister, "This is so humiliating! Get up right now!"

Every kindergarten seems to have a chubby kid who acts like the boss. The two boys had one at their kindergarten back in Harrowin, and there was one here, too. This one was much bigger, though; the flesh on his face was so plump you could barely see his eyes.

He lumbered over and said to Tilly and Tammy, "Why haven’t you two ugly freaks gone to see Mr. Cole today?"

Tilly and Tammy immediately fell silent. In a rare moment of unity, they held hands, a stark contrast to their bickering just moments before.

Dorothy Ellsworth asked curiously, "Why do you have to go see Mr. Cole?"

Fatty laughed. "You’re new, so you don’t know. But don’t worry, Mr. Cole will definitely call for you later. All the girls in our class have to go. Especially the girls."

Dorothy Ellsworth asked again, "Called for what?"

"That’s a secret." Fatty flashed a punchable grin and pulled a one-hundred-yuan bill from his pocket. "See this? It’s a tip from Mr. Cole. I’m not telling you anything."

Dorothy Ellsworth walked over to Tilly and Tammy. "What does that Mr. Cole call you over for?"

Tammy nudged her sister Tilly’s arm, signaling her not to say anything. Hand in hand, the two of them returned to their seats.

Dorothy Ellsworth was curious, but since they wouldn’t talk, she didn’t ask again.

The bell rang to dismiss the class. After a ten-minute break, the bell for the next class sounded.

The person who walked in was not one of the female teachers, but a man. He was the kindergarten’s only male teacher—though, of course, the old professor would become the second when he started tomorrow.

This was the Mr. Cole the students had been talking about. He was also the principal’s husband.

As soon as he reached the front of the class, he began handing out their workbooks.

He said, "Fatty, you watch the class. Tilly and Tammy, come with me to my office. Your homework is simply terrible. I’m going to have to give you two some extra tutoring."
