Chapter 131: Chapter 131: Little Foodie Su Hanhan? Women Are Creatures Who Say One Thing and Mean Another
Su Qinghe, at this moment, had no idea that the big bad wolf, Gu Yifan, had nearly devoured her.
The moment she got up, her face flushed red, and she scurried out of the room like a startled little rabbit.
Watching Su Qinghe flee in a panic, Gu Yifan smiled faintly and sprang up from the bed himself.
After quickly getting ready, the two of them headed out.
...
The Four-direction Night Market Street was one of Tan State’s more famous food streets.
Gu Yifan and Su Qinghe were now there.
The street was densely lined on both sides with all sorts of specialty food stalls. There were local Tan State delicacies, treats from other regions, and even specialties from Gu Yifan’s hometown, Mountain City. In short, it had everything you could possibly imagine from all over the country!
At 7:30 in the evening, it was the peak rush hour.
The food street was crowded. Faced with so many people, Su Qinghe, who had a bit of social anxiety, felt her heart pound with nervousness. One of her small hands gripped tightly onto Gu Yifan’s sleeve, afraid she’d get lost if she wasn’t careful.
Gu Yifan naturally noticed her unease, so he reached back and took her other small hand in his.
"It’s okay. I’m here."
Gu Yifan said gently, then led her by the hand deeper into the crowd.
Feeling Gu Yifan’s strong, large hand wrapped around her own, Su Qinghe’s anxiety finally began to subside.
She let Gu Yifan lead her on an epic food tour, eating their way from one end of the street to the other!
...
「Meanwhile.」
Over at the Fingertip Fate Internet Cafe in Mountain City, two beautiful, youthful figures suddenly appeared at the entrance.
"Fingertip Fate Internet Cafe..."
Wu Xiaoyan murmured, looking up at the sign above the entrance.
That’s right!
The newcomers were none other than Gu Yifan’s childhood sweetheart, Han Ning, and her best friend, Wu Xiaoyan.
Standing at the entrance, Han Ning looked in at the dim lights, the hazy, smoke-filled air, and the constant chorus of curses rising from the computer stations. Her delicate brows couldn’t help but furrow.
This was the first time in her life she had ever set foot in an internet cafe. She had only ever heard Gu Yifan and the others describe it; she’d never actually been to one.
Because in her eighteen years of life, she had been taught that internet cafes weren’t for good students.
Of course, that included Gu Yifan and Wang Zibo!
It was just that Gu Yifan listened to her. If she told him not to go to the internet cafe, he wouldn’t.
"Xiaoning’er, are you sure that guy Wang Zibo is in here?"
Wu Xiaoyan asked, covering her nose.
"Yeah."
Hearing her best friend’s question, Han Ning snapped out of her thoughts. She nodded first, then said, "I messaged him earlier, and that’s what he told me."
"Oh, okay, then let’s go in!" Wu Xiaoyan said, nodding.
With that, she pulled Han Ning along, and the two of them pushed aside the white plastic curtain strips and entered the cafe.
The internet cafe wasn’t very large, so the two of them quickly found the station where Wang Zibo was sitting.
At that moment, Wang Zibo was on a killing spree in-game, a cigarette dangling from his lips as he mourned his dead-and-gone first love, completely oblivious to the arrival of Han Ning and Wu Xiaoyan.
"FUCK!"
"SON OF A BITCH MARKSMAN, WHY THE HELL ARE YOU RUNNING?!"
"JUST FUCKING SHOOT HER!"
Wang Zibo, suddenly betrayed by a teammate, was finished off with two hits from a super minion while on low health, and he roared in frustration.
The cigarette in his mouth trembled, scattering ash all over his keyboard.
Han Ning witnessed the entire scene.
Seeing Wang Zibo with a cigarette dangling from his mouth, unshaven and looking like a street punk, her delicate brows furrowed even more deeply.
"Hey, Wang Zibo!"
Wu Xiaoyan shouted, slapping him on the shoulder.
Wang Zibo, wearing headphones, didn’t hear her but felt the tap on his shoulder and turned to look.
"Huh?"
One look and he froze.
He took off his headphones, surprised. "Princess Ning, Wu Xiaoyan, what are you two doing here?"
Han Ning glanced at him but didn’t answer. Instead, her brows knitted as she scanned the area, seemingly searching for someone.
"What do you think? We came looking for you!"
Wu Xiaoyan snapped from the side.
"Looking for me?"
Wang Zibo was bewildered. "Why are you looking for me?" he asked, completely baffled.
"To find..."
Wu Xiaoyan was about to speak but was cut off by Han Ning. "Zibo, where’s Gu Yifan? Isn’t he with you?"
"Brother Fan?"
"He’s not with me!"
Wang Zibo replied.
"Then do you know where he went?"
"I went to his house to look for him, but no one was home. I heard from my dad that Uncle Jiaguo and Aunt Mei are away on a business trip."
Han Ning said, frowning.
"Er..."
Wang Zibo hesitated for a moment before answering. "Um... I don’t know if Uncle Jiaguo and Aunt Mei are on a trip, but... Brother Fan is definitely not home. He went traveling!"
"Traveling?"
Han Ning asked, taken aback.
"Yeah!"
"He went on a trip. I was originally supposed to go with him, but something came up for me at the last minute, so I couldn’t."
Wang Zibo said with a nod.
"So... did he go traveling by himself?"
Han Ning asked, her brow furrowed.
"Er..."
"Well... that’s kind of hard to say."
Hearing this, Wang Zibo glanced at her instinctively, not knowing how to respond.
Seeing his reaction, Han Ning seemed to realize something, and her expression instantly darkened.
She then turned and walked away without another word.
"Hmph!"
"Men. Not a single good one among them!"
Wu Xiaoyan, who was standing to the side, naturally understood what was going on. She couldn’t help but glare at Wang Zibo before turning to follow Han Ning.
Wang Zibo: "..."
He stared at the two girls’ retreating figures, utterly dumbfounded.
’Wait a minute... What does this have to do with me?!’
Wang Zibo was speechless, caught in the crossfire for no reason.
"Sigh..."
’What’s the point of romance? Not even a dog would want to be in a relationship!’
’My game is still the best!’
He sighed, muttered a few words to himself, then put his headphones back on and charged back into the Ionia Continent.
...
"Hey, Su Hanhan, look! They’re selling spicy rabbit heads over there. Let’s go try them and see how they compare to the ones from Mountain City!"
On the Tanzhou Night Market Street, Gu Yifan suddenly spotted a small stall selling spicy rabbit heads not far ahead, so he pulled Su Qinghe over.
"Mm, that smells pretty good. Su Hanhan, want to try some?"
Gu Yifan asked, turning to Su Qinghe beside him.
Looking at the somewhat gruesome rabbit heads, Su Qinghe felt a little intimidated and gently shook her head.
Gu Yifan didn’t push her. After all, it was perfectly normal that some people loved this kind of food while others didn’t dare to try it.
’As long as she wasn’t one of those holier-than-thou hypocrites who say, "Bunnies are so cute, how could you eat them?!" it was fine!’
He turned to the stall owner. "Boss, two orders of spicy rabbit heads!"
"You got it!"
The stall owner, a middle-aged man, replied with a smile.
「A few minutes later...」
Er... (°_°)...
Gu Yifan stared in shock at Su Qinghe, who now looked like a complete foodie, holding a rabbit head in each hand and happily chewing away, her mouth smeared with red chili oil.
’Of course!’
’Women really are creatures who say one thing and mean another...’
