Monsters Die When Killed

Chapter 666: Chaos on New Year's Eve

Mysterious Organizations. Groups that are unknown, that remain hidden from the public.

In many legends, they are groups that possess both power and mystique, entities of an almost mythical nature.

There are even numerous Anomalies and legends that suggest many great figures throughout history made their decisions under the influence of these Mysterious Organizations.

Do you know…

…just how powerful a Mysterious Organization is?

Compared to a Society formed by ordinary people, compared to a Formal Transcendent team organized by the government…

…how strong are they?

You say the conclusion has already been drawn?

Are you referring to the recent encirclement and assault operations?

It’s true, some world-renowned Mysterious Organizations have been utterly annihilated in recent government operations. I myself was a participant in one of those very operations.

That’s right. They all ended in disastrous defeat.

However…

…they were not *true* Mysterious Organizations.

They were *retired* Mysterious Organizations.

There is a vast difference between them and those that are still active.

The criteria for being a Mysterious Organization are extremely strict. First and foremost, you must remain a mystery to the public, unknown. Even your name cannot be known.

The moment its name becomes known, its deterrent power plummets.

Take the Spirit Summoning Association, for example. On the surface, it seemed to be in the spotlight for a time due to its publicity, seizing a great deal of territory and attracting many members. But because it was exposed, it was besieged by multiple nations at once. Unable to withstand attacks from all sides, it was immediately destroyed.

In a Mysterious Organization, “mystery” is the true core. The “organization” part is merely incidental.

The abilities, deterrent power, mystique, and strength of a Mysterious Organization all exist for one purpose: to remain unknown.

Imagine if a truly unknown Mysterious Organization, with no available information, were to face off against a government team in unfamiliar territory…

Could it withstand a saturation bombardment of rocket fire from the government team?

Could it withstand the government’s Transcendents as they level mountains and destroy temples?

Could the government defend against a sudden attack from a Mysterious Organization, coming from an unknown location?

Could the government’s Elite Demon Hunters, with all their preparations, find the lair of a Mysterious Organization and carry out a decapitation strike?

Mystery…

Why can its name not be revealed? Why must it hide itself? Why can it not hide among the masses? Why can its members not even know each other? Why must it conceal its own glory in the cracks of history?

The latest episode of *Entering the Extraordinary*: ‘The Mysterious Organization Special’!

He will lead us all across the enigmatic rainforests of Southeast Asia to seek out the secrets of Mysterious Organizations and uncover the truth behind their many veils!

To fully understand the behemoth hidden behind the backdrop of history—the true nature of the Mysterious Organization…

…and thus, step into the very heart of the Extraordinary!

…

“Alright! And cut! Thank you, Professor Su! Your delivery is truly extraordinary. You really brought the intensity!”

“Ah, you flatter me, you flatter me. It’s all thanks to your excellent direction. And I really like the topic for this episode; you’ve got a great feel for it!”

“It’s what I do. So, Professor Su, how about joining the crew for a drink tonight? My treat!”

“If you’re treating, I’d definitely go, but not tonight. My department has an operation tonight. You know how it is, I can’t really talk about it…”

“Right, right, I almost forgot. I should be calling you Minister Su now. Well, I won’t keep you from your official business. Let’s work together again soon!”

Leaving the recording studio, Su Zhou exchanged pleasantries and said his goodbyes to a bald director who had a ruddy complexion. It was strange—even with the Spiritual Energy Revival, the world still wasn’t free from problems like hair loss. There were even cases of Body Cultivators who reached such internal and external Perfection that new hair couldn’t grow.

The crew of *Entering the Extraordinary* and Su Zhou were old acquaintances. The producer in charge was also a well-known government representative. The shows they collaborated on were usually national assignments, much like this ‘Mysterious Organization’ special. It was a program promoted by the Zhengguo Government to demystify these organizations for the general populace—a political task, in other words.

Outside the studio, Tang Yuan, who had been waiting by the door, hurried forward and handed Su Zhou a notice he had just received. Tang Yuan now served as Su Zhou’s secretary. Since Su Zhou was always running around and hard to find, Tang Yuan was responsible for receiving all notices and meeting preparations for him before passing them on.

“Minister… don’t you think this show is hyping things up a bit too much?”

Standing by Su Zhou’s side, Tang Yuan couldn’t help but glance back at the film crew. The pale-faced young man scratched his head. “The Spirit Summoning Association is one thing; it really took some effort to clean out its domestic and Southeast Asia strongholds. But the other Spirit Summoning Associations… they weren’t that strong at all! When we were cleaning them up, we mostly just coordinated with the local Patrols. It was on the same level as catching a thief. But listening to this show, you’d think we were assaulting a heavily fortified Fortress…”

Su Zhou, who was scanning the official notice in his hand, just shook his head. He wagged his finger with a TSK TSK. “Ah, Tang Yuan, you’re still too young.”

‘Aren’t you only a few years younger than me?’ Though Su Zhou was now half a head taller than him, Tang Yuan couldn’t help but grumble a little to himself when he heard that.

Naturally, Su Zhou, who could hear thoughts, paid no mind to such a trivial matter. He continued with another TSK TSK. “The Spring Festival is almost here, and it’s the end of the year. If we don’t take this chance to wildly exaggerate how strong the enemy is, how are we supposed to ask the higher-ups for more funding?”

“Look at the military! They’re rolling out eighty-year-old tanks! Something about ‘wishing the Zhengguo People a Happy New Year.’ You think I can’t see what they’re up to? They’re just pleading poverty!”
