Monsters Die When Killed

Chapter 601 - 49: High-Efficiency Su Zhou

September 16, 2016, 3:17 PM. Su Zhou entered the Slovenia Mountain Range in the European Union, passed through security at the Two Realms Teleportation Gate Fortress, and entered the Demon Realm.

September 16, 2016, 3:42 PM. The dangerous Mysterious Organization, the Celestial God Descent Association, attacked with six Leaders and seventeen elite Transcendents equipped with third-generation Exoskeleton Armor.

September 16, 2016, 3:46 PM. Su Zhou officially engaged in battle with the Celestial God Descent Association.

September 16, 2016, 3:59 PM. From the Celestial God Descent Association, Leaders Silent, Controller, and Reborn were killed in action, along with 9 elite Transcendents. Leaders Planters and Spirit Summoner, as well as the severely wounded Exchanger, escaped.

September 16, 2016, 4:27 PM. The severely wounded Exchanger was captured by Harmony Bureau agents who were in pursuit with Professor Su. Spirit Summoner chose to surrender. Planters disappeared; it is assessed that he abandoned his human body and merged with the collective plant consciousness of the local Black Forest. In a sense, this constitutes suicide in terms of his human identity.

At this point, the main force of the Spirit Summoning Association was nearly annihilated.

One hour and ten minutes after Su Zhou entered the Slovenia Mountain Range and the Demon Realm, the European Union lost the target of and reason for the joint operation they had spent nine days preparing.

The upper echelons of the Harmony Bureau, as well as the politicians and parliament of the European Union, would surely be getting massive headaches now that the matter was resolved. They might even find it completely baffling, thinking the reports from Rafael or Yuneiro were some kind of ridiculous April Fool’s joke. But the facts were the facts.

As for the highly efficient Su Zhou, he naturally didn’t have any superfluous thoughts on the matter.

"So tired... so hungry... I want to eat."

Sitting on the remains of a Spirit Summoning Association Exoskeleton Armor he had beaten into scrap metal, Su Zhou surveyed the Harmony Bureau personnel cleaning up the last of the battlefield. He casually took a high-energy drink offered by one of the staff, took a sip, and sighed. "I didn’t expect the Spirit Summoning Association to be this strong. If my Divine Techniques hadn’t improved recently, and if the Fire of Sin wasn’t the perfect counter to these villains who deserve to be struck by lightning, who knows how long that would have taken."

Su Zhou’s body, while certainly more resistant to various negative statuses than an ordinary person’s, didn’t have a 100% resistance like it did against Curses. At most, a negative status would appear, and then he would quickly regenerate back to his original state.

Previously, when facing the cocktail of negative statuses jointly applied by Spirit Summoner and Exchanger, Su Zhou had actually taken the full brunt of them all. It was just that the duration of these negative statuses basically never exceeded one second, and the price for this was Su Zhou burning through a massive amount of his fat reserves.

’At this rate, my body fat percentage will never get above fifteen percent. Who would’ve thought that one day, getting fat would be so difficult?’

This was just a joke, of course, but the Spirit Summoning Association’s strength was definitely worthy of acknowledgement.

’The Super Regeneration Ability of my Immortal Body has really saved me countless times. When Silent unleashed his ’Divine Technique’ this time, with all those injuries reappearing over and over, I really thought I was going to die.’

Even though he’d said things like ’this is just another Tuesday,’ truthfully, if Su Zhou hadn’t been distracting himself with bravado and trash talk at that moment, he would have been screaming in pain. It’s hard for an ordinary person to imagine what it feels like to have your entire body, with heightened sensitivity, experience every single pain you’ve ever felt before.

And Su Zhou had felt it.

To use some method, at some cost, to reproduce all the wounds a being had ever suffered—this was likely the Divine Technique of Silent Bornev. Su Zhou guessed that during his decades as a Leader of the Spirit Summoning Association, he had been traveling the world, collecting human suffering, and finally forged that suffering into the Demon of Punishment.

That suffering was the Essence Power for his Divine Technique. As long as a person possessed memories of pain, he could pay with his own stored Power of Pain to recreate every wound that person had ever suffered, even including psychological pain.

Such an unreasonably powerful ability was truly worthy of the Dusk Clan’s Power, which leads one toward their end. If that power were to evolve a bit, you could say that all the negative emotions in the world could become Silent’s strength. If Su Zhou didn’t have an even stronger cheat, the fight would have been incredibly difficult.

As for the Spirit Summoning Association Leaders he had previously dismissed as small fry, if it hadn’t been for the suppressing effect of the Karmic Fire, Su Zhou wouldn’t have been able to kill them so quickly in succession. Just to take down Reborn, he would have had to punch him ten thousand consecutive times to finish him off for good. It would have been an incredible hassle.

’Let’s do a quick calculation. If I could throw a hundred punches a second, and each one could kill Reborn, it would still take a full one hundred seconds!’

’Besides, Reborn’s regeneration also takes time. How could it possibly be faster than the Karmic Fire’s fully automatic incineration?’

He downed the high-energy drink, but the stuff did nothing to sate his hunger. Su Zhou leaped lightly off the armor wreckage. Although remnants of the Spirit Summoning Association were still on the run in the Demon Realm, that was a minor detail. He could leave it to the local Harmony Bureau or the joint forces; there was no longer a need for a powerhouse like him to get involved.

Rafael had said earlier that he would treat him to a meal after they returned to Earth. Su Zhou didn’t know the meaning of the word "polite"; this time, he was determined to eat until he was completely satisfied.

And speaking of eating, he thought of delicious food, which made him think of Evil People, which made him think of Evil Souls. Su Zhou’s imagination only ever leaped like this at times like these. He couldn’t help but peek into his Soul Space.
