Monsters Die When Killed
Chapter 569 - 37: Don’t You Have a Cell Phone?
That much was true.
Su Zhou, having personally crushed a host of priests from the Continuous Prayer Meeting, was naturally well aware of this. After all, he was the one who had killed them, and his memory was crystal clear.
Moreover, over the past two years, he had access to information through official Zhengguo channels and knew that the Spirit Summoning Association was currently the most enthusiastic group creating chaos and destruction on Earth. The other two major Mysterious Organizations, on the other hand, seemed to have gone quiet.
It was hard to say whether they were developing in secret and planning something big, or if they were just licking their wounds in the shadows, plotting a comeback.
"What do you think, Su Zhou?"
Nearby, Shao Qiming, who had sat back down, poured himself a cup of tea—unsweetened, of course. He took a sip and turned to ask calmly, "Should we kill him, or hand him over to the Zhengguo Government to deal with? This should count as a great contribution."
"I’m guessing that won’t work."
Su Zhou shook his head slightly. He knew it wasn’t that simple. "This guy’s Snake Attachment Secret Technique comes from a Great Being. It’s quite esoteric. Even I had to use an absolute lockdown of Spiritual Power to completely sever his contact with the outside world. Otherwise, he could cut the connection at any time, or even make this body commit suicide."
"In other words, unless I watch him around the clock, it’ll be very difficult for the Zhengguo Government to stop him from escaping or killing himself."
It was far too easy for a Transcendent to commit suicide. A single moment of inattention, and they could destroy their own Cultivation Body. Of course, there were some powerful Cultivation Techniques that, once cultivated, made it impossible for even the Cultivator to kill themselves, but those were an extreme minority of top-tier techniques.
"Then what should we do? I know it was an accident, but this is still a private meeting with a high-ranking member of a Mysterious Organization. If you don’t capture him, it won’t look good if word gets out."
Shao Qiming frowned at this. He put down his teacup and offered a suggestion. "How about this? We just obliterate this soul fragment and burn his body to ash. We’ll just pretend we never saw him."
He didn’t, however, consider how to explain Su Zhou’s dramatic entrance, flying in through the window as a streak of Thunder Light... Just as no one batted an eye when Su Zhou killed beasts and ate birds, was not using the main entrance even a big deal? If he had actually used the main entrance like a normal person, now *that* would be something worth noticing.
’He can talk about murder and cremation so casually! This guy’s way of thinking is seriously messed up!’
Kroessel had his own complaints about this in his heart, but they were meaningless.
Su Zhou narrowed his eyes. He stood before Kroessel with his hands behind his back, lost in thought.
The Holy Snake Spirit Prayer Association. If he could eradicate it, he absolutely wouldn’t hold back. Even though he never let a grudge last overnight—the group of Continuous Prayer Meeting members who had a direct feud with him had been wiped out by him that very same day—the rest could easily be handed over to various governments for Judgment.
But it was obvious that even if he killed Kroessel now, or even directly threatened his main body through some other means, the man would never truly reveal all the secrets of the Holy Snake Spirit Prayer Association, especially their hidden locations.
It wasn’t that he overestimated Kroessel’s willpower; rather, Su Zhou believed that if he really did that, Kroessel’s main body, far away, would immediately delete the relevant memories from his own brain and Soul, leaving Su Zhou with nothing.
Most importantly, this organization was, after all, a group that believed in and worshipped Yara... Even if that faith was, in essence, a pragmatic transaction, it was still Yara’s organization.
"What do you think, Yara?"
Ever the polite, friendly, and caring person, Su Zhou always considered the feelings of those around him. He asked courteously, "What do you think I should do with them?"
"I am with you. To them, you are me."
The Snake Spirit replied lazily, "You handle it."
Although it was as good as saying nothing, the act of asking was, in itself, a statement.
Having received an answer, Su Zhou turned his attention back to Kroessel.
This high-ranking member of the Continuous Prayer Meeting had clearly received a higher education. The fact that he knew about the Continuous Prayer Meeting even before the Spiritual Energy Revival, and even had the option to join either of the two major Mysterious Organizations, proved that his background was extremely deep. He might even be from the new generation of some Transcendent family or major power in the European Union or the American Federation.
And his reason for joining a Mysterious Organization was simply because it was ’cool’... Besides that, the Curse on him wasn’t deep. Killing him wouldn’t be killing an innocent, but just killing a clone like this was rather pointless...
"Instead of getting rid of you, I’m more interested in making the Holy Snake Spirit Prayer Association disappear completely, or rather, rendering it completely harmless."
As he said this, Su Zhou narrowed his eyes and smiled. He’d thought of a good idea. "If I kill you now, even if I kill your main body, I still won’t be able to wipe out the Continuous Prayer Meeting. I won’t even be able to stop you from performing blood sacrifices. And I won’t know what kind of crazy things you’ll do to continue your worship, affecting other innocent people."
"So, my idea right now is this: I can allow you to operate under my banner."
Here, Su Zhou paused. He reached out and ruffled Kroessel’s hair—the scaly texture felt quite nice. The young man said flatly, "But, as a price, all of your sacrificial rituals and procedures must be reported to me in advance."
His tone was as calm as if he were instructing a pet to use the right spot for its business, not to scratch the sofa, and not to run all over the place. "Naturally, there can be no blood sacrifices. Nothing that harms other innocent people. You must also tell me the purpose. If I don’t like it, you can’t do it."
"I know it’s simple. For the Holy Snake Spirit’s worship, human and soul sacrifices are the lowest-grade methods. The previous Continuous Prayer Meeting was just lazy."
These were practically tyrannical terms.
Supervising a Mysterious Organization’s right to worship... was, in essence, seizing control of its lifeline.
From now on, the very foundation of the Holy Snake Spirit Prayer Association’s existence would depend entirely on Su Zhou. Whether they could continue to exist as a Mysterious Organization in the future was completely up to his mood.
Su Zhou’s words were indisputable, and Kroessel, with his head lowered, clearly had neither the right nor the intention to refuse. In fact, this was entirely within his range of acceptable outcomes.
However, the young Leader of the Continuous Prayer Meeting still had one small question.
"These are all reasonable conditions. I can agree to them on behalf of all the members of the organization."
As long as they could continue to communicate with the Great Being, the Continuous Prayer Meeting would have its foundation for existence. Everything else was a trivial detail.
Lifting his head slightly to look at the calm Su Zhou, Kroessel said with some confusion, "But we don’t have a stable way to contact you... Whether for reporting or anything else, we at least need a method to get in touch."
"Do you, perhaps, have some special Secret Technique for this?"
"A Secret Technique? This is the 21st century."
Su Zhou gave Kroessel a strange look. He turned his head to glance at Shao Qiming, who was drinking tea, then turned back to Kroessel. He asked in an extremely ’cool’ tone:
"Don’t you have a phone?"
Kroessel: "?"
...
Kroessel severed the Snake Attachment Skill. The body left behind was incinerated into ash by Su Zhou’s Spiritual Power and tossed as fertilizer to the Wisdom Tree in his Personal Space.
The ashes of a Transcendent who possessed partial Extraordinary High-tier power, mixed with water, were barely acceptable. The Wisdom Tree, with its ever-growing appetite, also offered a one-word comment.
"Good."
"Where on Earth did it learn this stuff?"
At times like this, Su Zhou always felt rather bewildered. "Theoretically speaking, the Wisdom Tree has never even studied Chinese, right?"
"It lives in your Soul Space. It learns whatever you learn."
Yara said this, seeming quite pleased. The organization that worshipped it was now affiliated with the person it had a pact with. Two happy events happening at once naturally meant double the happiness. "Although it’s only two years old and it’s difficult for a Divine Wood to grow, you shouldn’t underestimate it—it has the potential to grow into a true Wisdom Tree."
As for using a phone to contact the Holy Snake Spirit Prayer Association, that was no joke—Su Zhou knew it would definitely be monitored by the Zhengguo Government, or at least be easily exposed.
But would using a Secret Technique be any different? On the contrary, precisely *because* it was a Secret Technique, it would draw more attention from others. A phone, on the other hand... Su Zhou chats about all sorts of random things with people on forums and in messaging apps. Would anyone really pay special attention to that?
Especially given Su Zhou’s high level of online activity, his frequent trash-talking, and his constant flame wars, it was more than enough to conceal everything.
What’s more, Kroessel himself was an administrator of his fan club. The simplest method would be to have him contact Shao Qiming later and use some vague language to gloss things over. They could even disguise it as a fan club team-building event. Everyone would be happy.
However, Su Zhou’s greatest source of confidence was still his own strength.
So what if they found out? What was the big deal?
If the Zhengguo Government knew about this, they might even strongly support him in integrating the power of the Continuous Prayer Meeting for his own use...
It’s just that things would become very troublesome then. Su Zhou didn’t have the energy to actually manage the organization, nor did he have the energy to wrangle with the American Federation or other regions around the world that had branches of the Continuous Prayer Meeting.
After all, compared to a Continuous Prayer Meeting that was already this weakened, he had more important things to do.
"The Celestial God Descent Association..."
After saying goodbye to Shao Qiming, he returned home.
Su Zhou opened his computer and browsed the intelligence on the Zhengguo Government’s secret Extraordinary network. He couldn’t help but fall into deep thought. ’The more the Spiritual Qi Revival progresses, the more active and rampant this Mysterious Organization becomes... It seems that after resolving the external conflict of the Beast God Realm—a potential foreign enemy with a Celestial Venerable—the nations of the world are now preparing to stabilize the internal situation on Earth.’
’Compared to the now-crippled Continuous Prayer Meeting, *it* is the greatest threat to world peace and stability today.’
