Chapter 1763: Chapter 451: Against All Odds, King vs. King
Whether in terms of fan count or forum popularity, the Sky Dome Wings Guild is far inferior to the Liver Emperor Group and the Child Group.
But for this confrontation, the vast majority of players were more optimistic about Sky Dome Wings winning.
To prepare for the match, the temporary "Kindergarten Liver Emperor Battle Group" added up to fewer than forty people.
Meanwhile, the Sky Dome Wings Battle Group had a lineup of over ten thousand players.
The gap in numbers between the two sides was enormous, and the forum generally believed that unless the kindergarten drew some super buff, their chances of victory were slim.
After all, any battle group of that scale has strong commanders and all kinds of tactics at their disposal.
Small squads simply can’t compete.
As one player on the forum put it: the Sky Dome Wings Battle Group just needs to pick a few players to drag the Liver Emperor Group and Child Group members into the Oath Space; then the rest of them won’t have any survival or sustain problems, they can easily recover their state, and the fight won’t even be fair.
Even so, the spectators were still hoping to see some epic comeback and counterattack.
When the match started, the spectators entered the battlefield in free-view mode.
As the light faded, what appeared before everyone’s eyes was a shattered platform suspended ten thousand meters in the sky, with a sea of clouds surging beneath it.
Seeing that the randomly matched scene was actually above the clouds, the spectators couldn’t help but shake their heads.
This terrain clearly favored the Sky Dome Wings Battle Group, whose aerial combat ability was much stronger.
After entering, the countdown began.
The members of Sky Dome Wings spread their wings and flew above the cloud-top arena, like descended gods overlooking the platform below.
The players of the Liver Emperor Group and the Child Group appeared at this moment as well.
Compared to the overwhelming array of wings in the sky, the figures on the platform below looked sparse and tiny.
Once they’d entered, the members of the Child Group all activated their "Infinite" Life Soul and began drawing lots.
Each match was a reset similar to the test tower, so every time they entered, they had to draw anew.
The opening draw was a bit miserable: only thirteen people drew buff tags.
The highest buff was Dairy Buzz’s 845%, just a bit over eight times, which wasn’t a particularly high multiplier.
In the Child Group members’ Star Vein Slots, the Unlimited Life Soul served as the Main Life Soul and was allocated 55% of the Hunting-earned evolution points.
Right now their Life Soul Level had already reached 130+.
The maximum buff strength had climbed to 7539%, which meant that as long as you drew the top tag, your power could instantly be amplified seventy-fivefold.
It was currently the Life Soul with the highest upper limit and the lowest lower limit in the Player Faction.
If you pulled the worst tag at 1%, then even as a veteran from launch day, with over 130 Life Soul Levels, you’d still be stuck sharing a table with newbies.
When the draw ended, the faces of the Child Group members all looked a bit grim.
"Key match and the draw scuffed, and my Strong Luck Soul scuffed right along with it." Tie Chui, who had drawn a 35% debuff, said irritably.
"This round we’ll have to rely on the Principal and the brothers in the Liver Emperor Group, especially the Principal. He’s been watching the show the whole previous series of guild wars; time for him to carry." The cute baby shook his head helplessly as he spoke, then lifted his gaze forward.
Standing at the very front of the Child Group was one of the candidates the forum public saw as the strongest player in the Player Faction: the Principal.
He was also the boss of the Child Group.
At this moment, the Principal was wearing a black trench coat, a sunny smile on his face:
"Don’t panic. It’s my turn to show off this round. Your buffs are too low, just support me with whatever buff you’ve got."
With that, the Principal stepped forward, gazing at the Sky Dome Wings Battle Group already ascending into the sky, baring his white teeth in a grin.
Then, under everyone’s watchful eyes, he lifted his right foot and lightly stomped the ground:
"Kids, time to work."
BOOM!!!
At the instant his right foot landed, pitch-black Space Spirit Patterns spread from him as the center, crawling across the ground in a flash.
Then the ground’s Space shattered like a mirror, revealing a rapidly expanding Abyss of Darkness beneath.
Thick deathly aura surged out of the Abyss like a flood bursting through a dam.
The next moment, under countless shocked gazes, figures clad in Black Armor rose one after another from the cracks of the Abyss, like an army returning from Hell.
As the black Spirit Patterns diffused across the ground, the number of Black Armor Warriors increased sharply as well.
One hundred, one thousand, ten thousand... in the blink of an eye, a black army of over ten thousand formed atop the cloud platform.
And these warriors were from the Principal’s Special Life Soul: the Dark Race Crystal.
Every Dark Race Warrior summoned stood over two meters tall, their entire bodies encased in ferocious Armor flowing with dim luster, Dark Runes engraved across the plates.
They wielded all kinds of Shadow Weapons: gigantic scythes, longswords wreathed in black flames, Battle Axes chained in steel... the weapons differed, but all of them exuded an evil aura.
When they raised their heads, pairs of dark red eyes lit up beneath their helmets, following the Principal’s gaze to stare coldly at the figures in the sky.
When the last Dark Race Warrior stepped out of the Void, the Space rift snapped shut.
Tie Chui, the cute baby, and the others—who had been depressed over their bad buffs—were now all smiling, and they quickly started moving.
Blood Burning, Holy Armor, Blade... a series of buff traits were applied to the Dark Race Warriors via the Diffusion Attribute.
Ever since they obtained the Strong Luck Soul, their odds of drawing buffs had increased significantly.
But occasionally there would still be a full-team debuff incident, and that was when the Principal became the ultimate insurance.
The Principal calmly looked up at the Sky Dome Wings Battle Group in the sky, grinning as he said:
"Now, the numbers are even."
Behind him, the tens of thousands of solemn Dark Race Crystal warriors raised their heads toward the heights together, unleashing a roaring declaration of war.
