Chapter 1668: Chapter 423: I Am the Natural Disaster, What Is There to Fear?

Death Space.

In the setting of the Lord of Jile, this place is divided into two major areas.

First is the Outer City, also known as: Trial City.

Creatures recruited from Jile World and even other Small Worlds will undergo six trials in the Outer City.

Only the Jile Players who complete the Ultimate Trial are eligible to set foot in the Inner City: Death City.

Upon arriving here, they have obtained the ticket to enter Monster World.

From here on, they can explore Monster World individually or as a group, seeking resources and opportunities.

The outstanding ones among them are granted the "Derived Rule Imprint."

Jile Players refer to it as the "Evil Demon Mark," which can be used to lure creatures, leading to higher earnings than direct Hunting.

Looking beyond the spatial boundary of Trial City, the grand scene of Death City unfolds.

The sky here reflects the bright starry river, with blue auroras swaying like satin across the sky.

The entire city is aglow with neon lights, filled with Jile Players of various forms.

Their apparel is also distinctive, and most of them wear tense expressions. Despite being called Jile Players, they lack the leisure mindset of players.

Because death, for them, may come at any moment.

Survival involves struggling with all one’s Strength.

The liveliest place in the entire city is the Central Square.

Jile Players from different races gather here, with simple stalls spread out on the ground.

The shouts of vendors, arguments, and various sounds mix together, forming a boiling sound wave.

Most items displayed on the stalls are various resources or weapon equipment acquired at the cost of Life from Monster World.

The only universal currency here is: Jile Points.

These can be exchanged in the function towers of Death City for Rune Skills, Life Talent, compatible weapon Equipment, and more to integrate with one’s body.

Therefore, every completed transaction means an increased chance of survival on the next exploration.

Gazing past the bustling and noisy Central Square, over towering residential towers, through the challenge hall where quests can be accepted, the view finally lands on a building that stands out from its surroundings.

This building is entirely dark purple, with hazy lighting, and the huge energy sign at its entrance flickers with four big characters: Jile Descent.

This is the only place for entertainment in Death City, offering various fun services as a bar.

Inside, limited illusion services are provided.

The Lord of Jile allows Jile Players struggling on the line of life and death to have a place to temporarily numb their nerves upon returning, forgetting the bloody and brutal Monster World.

But this enjoyment is strictly controlled at the most basic level.

True debauchery is prohibited here.

Because the Lord of Jile requires not those indulgent in pleasure, but warriors who can continue burning Life to grow.

Jile Players can rest here, but they can’t become useless consumables because of it.

Thus, the bar does not offer any deep illusion experiences, only modes not found in Jile Palace.

Such as beverages prepared with Extreme Joy Energy that can make "Jile Players" feel mentally joyous.

Inside the bar, the lighting is blurred, and the air is filled with the rich aroma of liquor.

In the spacious interior, card seats and bars are distributed unevenly, with various Jile Players quietly conversing here or sitting in silence.

The most eye-catching feature is the shimmering wall-size Liu Guang wine cabinet, displaying hundreds of exotic liquors marked with different point prices.

At this moment, in a relatively quiet corner of the bar.

A figure dressed in a black trench coat sits on a high stool, with a glass of shimmering azure blue liquid before him on the bar.

He is sipping quietly.

He is none other than Yang Xiu, the legitimate player who infiltrated the Jile Players.

The "Life Soul Team" he leads now ranks in the top ten in the Death Space.

Its scale has expanded from an initial dozen members to 52, following a path of elite cultivation.

Each member who joins, Yang Xiu bestows a Life Soul code name, such as: Eagle Head, Black Snake, Stone Statue, etc.

Inspired by his own Life Soul System.

Beside him stands a gracefully bodied lady.

She possesses near-perfect features, her skin with a warm pearl white luster, a head of light purple long hair, and deep purple eyes, openly admiring as she watches Yang Xiu drink.

Occasionally, her slender pointed ears twitch.

Yang Xiu sighs at this moment, turning his gaze to the lady standing beside him, with a hint of helplessness in his tone:

"Black Snake, why are you watching me? Go do what you need to do."

Upon hearing this, Black Snake not only doesn’t leave but approaches closer, with hands clasped behind her back, leaning slightly forward, and a mischievous smile on her face:

"What I need to do is to stay here and accompany the boss."

As she speaks, her slender purple ears playfully twitch:

"The training field won’t suddenly disappear, my Skill proficiency is already up to standard... Boss, it’s so dull for you to drink alone, I’m here to make sure some brainless person didn’t spike your drink."

She deliberately makes a vigilant gesture as she scans her surroundings.

Her exaggerated behavior contrasts sharply with her incredibly beautiful appearance.

Yang Xiu shakes his head:

"Nonsensical logic."

He murmurs, but no longer urges Black Snake to leave, instead turning his gaze back to the wine glass, tacitly accepting her presence at his side.

Black Snake smiles with satisfaction, no longer interrupting.

Simply standing quietly in his shadow, like a loyal silhouette.
