Monsters Are Coming
Chapter 1581 - 403: A Dignified Farewell for Ourselves (Part 4)
Chapter 1581: Chapter 403: A Dignified Farewell for Ourselves (Part 4)
"With the simultaneous downfall of our Seven Great Thrones, as a sacrifice for the Blood King’s ascent to absolute rule... also, by putting on a performance that is intimidating enough to deter external enemies, achieving two birds with one stone... it truly suits your consistent style, Soul King... but, is it worth it?" The voice of the Fungus King carried emotions of complexity.
"It is worth it." This time, it was not the Soul King who responded, but the Erosion King, enveloped in an aura of decay beside them, a voice firm and decisive:
"The glory and continuance of the individual are light as dust before the survival of the clan. If our complete vanishing can exchange for a future where the Spirit Breath Clan is integrated, unified, and devoid of internal strife, even creating a deterrence that external enemies dare not easily invade, this is the value of our existence."
The silhouette of the Dark King nodded slightly in the shadows:
"I agree too, the shadows of the old era should make way for the dawn of the new era, burning out in the most intense way; isn’t it also a dignified end for ourselves, us old fellows... it’s time to step down."
Though the other thrones did not immediately speak, the will permeating the hall gradually reached unanimity.
It was a mournful yet resolute consensus, stemming from the deepest attachment and responsibility towards the clan.
The Soul King felt this heavy resolve and finally spoke:
"Then, let it be so, the future shall have no Eight Great Thrones, only the Blood King, and a complete, unified Spirit Breath Clan moving towards rebirth."
"Hahaha, we remnants of the old era have the chance to clear the path for the Spirit Breath Clan and the Blood King from development obstacles, concluding the last moment of life in a sublimated way. I like this ending."
"I’m suffocating, ever since coming to this world I’ve always been bound, never dared to give my all." The voice of the Bone King carried a kind of wildness, finally released after being suppressed for too long:
"Now I can finally fight unrestrained, let those alien race scum see what the true edge of the Spirit Breath Clan is."
The Fungus King’s voice also carried a trace of fanaticism:
"Then let our farewell ignite the future, gentlemen, let us once again join hands to fight for the glory of Spirit Breath."
Hearing the comrades speak, the decaying aura around the Erosion King suddenly became animated:
"Returning to nothingness... is also a splendid end, to embark on this final journey with you, dear friends of a thousand years, very well."
At this moment, all concerns and fears transformed into the exhilaration before generous self-sacrifice:
"The glory of old shall ultimately forge the cornerstone of rebirth. Hereafter, complete authority and strength shall return to the Blood King, allowing the Spirit Breath Clan to have only one voice, one will, one direction."
"Hahaha, indeed, this is the conclusion that us old fellows should have."
"Warriors should not end with retirement, dying in battle is our best return."
The surging war intent and resolve rose to the sky as if it were tangible, vibrating the entire Spirit Breath hall.
Seven strands of ancient will at this moment resonated and interwove without reservation, ready to burn everything for a single goal.
In the next moment, seven brilliant beams of light broke through the dome of the Spirit Breath hall.
Like seven meteors rising against the trend, piercing straight into the sky dome.
The light scattered, revealing the true forms of the Seven Thrones.
No longer restraining their aura, the majestic life energy spread unchecked, suppression covering the four directions.
They floated high in the air, overlooking for the last time the Spirit Breath City down below, which they had protected for a millennium, now revitalized in the new world.
Their gazes contained too many indescribable emotions.
In this instant, time seemed to freeze.
Before the farewell, the past of the Seven Great Thrones surged in their minds.
There were moments of crowning as kings, under the fervent gaze of millions of clansmen, taking oaths in front of the ancient altar:
"This life, this soul, given to Spirit Breath, where glory points, is where we head."
They were young, their eyes burning with the flame to pioneer the future and protect the clan.
There was the first time they led the initial generation of the Super Beast Legion, tearing through the world’s barriers, stepping into an unknown small world.
Behind them were tense warriors, ahead was a new world filled with danger and opportunity.
Standing shoulder to shoulder, they combined their strength into an invincible torrent, bringing back the first substantial resource to the clan on the brink of exhausting its resources, thus laying the foundation for rising and defining the plundering development path of the Spirit Breath Clan.
There were fierce cross-world wars, the initial Erosion King, to cover the main force’s retreat, paved the way with self-sacrifice.
Returning to the hometown world, other thrones silently guarded the place of its slumber.
And during the most prosperous times of the Spirit Breath Civilization, they stood on the clouds, overlooking the flourishing nation, though there was exhaustion in their eyes, what prevailed was gratification and pride.
Those were the sweetest fruits borne from their struggle.
Countless scenes of battle, struggling forward, glorious prosperity... those long years of shared experiences, fighting trust, moments of protecting the clan... flashed rapidly in the minds of the Seven Thrones as if a revolving lantern, eventually condensing into a profound and weighty attachment and responsibility beyond individual existence for the two words "Spirit Breath."
They cast one last look at the city below, etching it into their hearts.
The sunset glow stained the sky a magnificent orange-red, clouds like fire, as if the sky dome laid out a carpet path straight to the end for them.
Warm light showered on their varied yet equally firm bodies, coating them in a layer of sacred golden silhouette.
The Soul King softly whispered at this moment:
"For... our initial vow."
This one sentence expressed what was in the minds of the other thrones.
All the sacrifice, all the resolve, found its final annotation in this sentence.
It is time to fulfill the promises made at the dawn of time, the starting point of the struggle.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
Seven deafening roars suddenly erupted from deep within Spirit Breath City, like a fierce beast awakening after ages of slumber.
Subsequently, seven pillars of light, each of a different color but containing the same terrifying power, shot up from different areas of the city.
Shooting towards the seven thrones in the sky.
These were seven throne super beasts, grotesque in shape and massive as mountains.
They were once the most powerful war weapons in the hands of the Seven Thrones.
Although without autonomous consciousness, they felt the decisive will and boiling war intent of their masters, unleashing roars that tore the sky.
The companion super beast of the Bone King, "Skeleton Star Shining Dragon," carrying a death aura, crashed into its body, with countless bones perfectly interlocking with it.
The companion super beast of the Fungus King, "Thousand Spore Rotting Beast," transformed into billions of glowing, deadly filaments, shrouding and merging with the Fungus King, making its form increasingly massive.
The companion super beast of the Erosion King, "Erosion Devouring World," transformed into a gray decaying torrent, fusing with the decaying mist surrounding the Erosion King...
No more words were spoken, seven figures transformed into streaks splitting the sky.
With unyielding resolve, they sped toward the direction of the Gogong Tribe Land.
The mountains and rivers flew by swiftly underfoot.
Finally, on the far horizon, the cold, deathly silent aura of the city of the Gogong Tribe, resembling a crouching giant beast, came into view.
The leading Soul King slightly slowed his speed, glancing back at the six thrones flying alongside him and looking towards where Spirit Breath City was no longer visible in the glow of the distant sun.
In his pale blue eyes, a touch of relief and freedom appeared:
His calm voice clearly reached the ears of each throne, containing no sadness, only a peace and heroism as if fulfilling an appointment:
"Gentlemen, Spirit Breath Hero Mausoleum... farewell."
"Roar!" The six thrones responded with battle cries.
Upon the end of his words, the speed of the seven figures erupted suddenly, like seven swords burning with the last brilliance of life, shooting resolutely into the deathly silent Alien City.
With a most brilliant demise, offering the last wildfire of the former thrones for the new era of Spirit Breath.
Only to ignite a Spirit Breath future they are destined never to witness with their own eyes.
A tomorrow they can never reach again.
