Chapter 4438: The Tool
Chapter 4438: The Tool
I stopped in front and looked at them all.
We are in the central square of the village, in the open. Not in the city hall; they wanted it to be there, but I asked them to do it here, where everybody could see it at the same time.
I could feel their gazes filled with hope. Even now, after so much time, I haven’t gotten used to them.
Everyone is here, aside from those on security duty. The village members, the vagrant, and even the cultists were allowed inside for it.
I looked into the eyes of all of them. I didn’t say anything, just kept looking at them.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the time is over. I present to you the gate, made from the efforts of all of you; the tool that will finally get us all out of here." I said and waved my hand in a great flourish as their emotion reached a peak.
A moment later, a fruit of my labour appeared.
A thick silver arched metallic door frame without panels, with the design of intricate landmasses carved on it. Those are the famous landmasses of the outworld that these people longed to see.
Below the arches, a delicate, violet-red sphere floats in the air, painted with a depiction of the sea.
It is spinning gently, making it seem like the waves are rising and falling. I could have made it plain, but I decided to make it beautiful.
I had also added my signature, as well as the signatures of all those who worked on it and those who provided the resources.
It took a lot of effort from everyone, and they deserve this much.
"It looks different from what Prime Sovereign had crafted." It is the first words I heard.
"That’s because I had made a lot of changes. Prime Amila," I replied, with a smile. Yes, the changes had been more than I had thought.
Especially in the core.
It had been five and a half months since I had returned from the Violet Zone. I had already finished with most of the design of the core by then.
I didn’t think it would take such time, but red-sartil can change things.
Now, the tool is stronger than I had imagined. Far stronger than what Prime Sovereign had designed.
"What changes do you think it has to take us out of the realm?" asked Chef Baras. "I would say 50%," I replied. It is the right answer.
Even after making it powerful than I had initially thought. I do not have more than 50% confidence.
"That’s quite low to risk our lives, don’t you think, Prime Arys?" asked another man—an Earth Sovereign. "I wish I could say 100%, Earth Soverein Yalan, but space is complicated and dangerous," I replied with a smile.
They kept asking the questions, and I kept answering them, but not a single one of the most powerful had asked a question.
The three strongest had quietly walked toward the tool and were now observing.
They are using their hands and their methods. I am not stopping them. This tool will remain here in the square until the rift appears.
I have finished with it, there is nothing more to do than wait for the rift.
If it had been the older version, I would have needed to ask the prime to charge it with their power, but red sartil had changed things.
Now, it will absorb the energy from the powerful energy stones.
There is no shortage of it in this place, and it won’t take long to charge. Even without energy stones, it could charge itself, but that will take a long time.
More than it will take for the rift to arrive.
"This core, it’s very powerful." Said the most powerful cultist, not to me, but to himself, before turning to me.
"What did you use to forge it? It is not the material from the list you gave us, at least not the most important one, that made it so powerful," he asked.
He is really something. He was quickly able to tell that one material had made it so powerful.
"It’s something I had in my core space, but nearly forgotten about it," I replied with a smile.
He opened his mouth, but closed it seeing my expression. I am not going to answer that question. If they want to find out, they can investigate on their own.
I want to see if they will be able to find out what it is.
He smiled back, and it raised all the hair on my body, but I didn’t look away. I met his eyes and we stared at each other before turning away at the gate.
"Will it really be able to take us home?" asked Avana as she appeared beside me as the questions abated.
"We will know, after the rift appears," I replied to her.
I want to go out, but my desire pales in comparison to the presence of these people who have been here for hundreds of years. Some for over a millennium.
It’s not a small time. If I had been in their place, I would have gone mad by now.
Speaking of mad, a man hanging on the precipice of it walked toward me before stopping in front of me. He is the same man who wanted to enter the rift when it had appeared.
"After a long time, I felt the hope in my heart. I hope it won’t disappoint me, I won’t be able to handle it," said the old man, looking at the gate.
"I hope it would not, Prime Nomos," I replied. The man nodded and walked away.
I talked to people while watching the gate, which is now surrounded by a lot of people. Some are just watching it, while others are using methods like the three strongest.
This is going to be amazing for me.
I had added a sneaky formation inside the core. The one that will record all the methods that touch it.
Studying the data, I will be able to determine how they work and create a measure to guard against them. I didn’t want to do this, but I also didn’t want to lose the precious opportunity.
Soon, over an hour passed, but people were still here, looking at the gate.
This is the most important thing for them. It will grant their greatest wish.
’Prime Arys, meet us at the city hall in ten minutes.’ Prime Karamiv’s voice rang out in my mind. I had expected it and simply nodded.
